Stopped by here with my family, they have a brand new menu to try under new ownership, we had a few hiccups with our order but nothing that couldn't be fixed, the service was very accommodating and understanding. so no more JoJo Apples -- it's new management and seemingly somewhat of a new menu. My favorite sandwich is no more, so we tried others -- not great and also NOT inexpensive. People go there to meet friends and to have a close-by place for a meal, especially breakfast and brunch. Do not go out of your way for their food. Lots better choices. As I said, it's a place to meet friends -- sort of like Cheers. Now they have evening music and triva twice a month which is a good idea -- so sending good luck to them. It's too stressful for us to drive the distance and worry to find a parking place, so we say good bye to JoJo's and wish them well. It's not for us anymore. read more

Since there is a new ownership, and obviously it has taken sometime to change "things," I never know their schedule. Several times I have called and they seem in a hurry and today, asked a question on the phone and as I asked to have it repeated, the person hung up I will not be returning now at the age of 87. Been a regular here for many years, came back today as they re-opened last weekend from winter. Seems they've got a new owner who has a new menu that has significant reductions in choices. I've driven past this restaurant a number of times and I was under the impression that it was a neighborhood diner. Well I finally visited. The interior is kind of like a diner with stools at a counter in addition to tables. They have a great brunch menu but we were here for dinner. I enjoyed one of the best skirt steaks I've had in a long time. The marinade was excellent and anyone who enjoys skirt steak understands that if not prepared correctly it can be tough. This steak was perfect! Salmon was fresh and served on top of a Caesar salad and that was also, obviously, prepared by an experienced chef. Full bar. Extremely clean. Plenty of street parking. JoJo apples is the place to go in Point Lookout serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You were able to eat inside or outside. Each dish is plentiful and the wait staff is very nice and accommodating. Went to This establishment for dinner with a large group. Waitress was nice. Food was mediocre. I had steak tidbits sandwich. Steak was chewy and obviously not a quality cut. Mussels were a nice appetizer but they should serve bread with it. The waitress asked is we wanted to bread. We said yes and she returned after we were done with then with three dinner rolls that were hard as a rock. Jo Jo Apple: After many weeks staying in the house r recovering from knee replacement surgery, my wife and I were able to go out for brunch and headed to Point Lookout to look at the ocean and eat at Jo Jo Apples, where we had enjoyed eating a while ago. Although crowded, we were able to get a table at this very charming casual breakfast and lunch spot with parking lot. My wife ordered a very fresh and tasty Reuben Fish Sandwich, and I ordered a hamburger ("no more than medium"). The hamburger, unfortunately, was a "hockey-puck" overly well done, with no taste, no seasoning on a bun that must have been frozen and somehow re-heated (maybe even micro-waved) for it was not good at all. My wife asked for sweet potato fries, instead of the French fries that came with her sandwich which turned out to be very good but was charged an extra $5. The waiter insisted that was what the owner said it should be, yet if I had ordered regular fries with my burger, it would have been $4.25 or $5.25 extra for sweet potato. We didn't complain nor argue (although probably should have). Despite what I just wrote. It is a good brunch place, just don't order a hamburger and clarify any additional cost for substitutions. Other diners were clearly enjoying their dishes that looked very tasty, although a gentleman next to us indicated that his eggs were cold, but he had already come in with a scowl on his face and waited at least five or more minutes before eating his order. We also didn't get to sit by the water as several streets were flooded from the recent storm. Oh well, it was good to get out of the house. read more

The food. Terrible. Ordered an Asian Chicken Salad. Received the salad with 4 thin 1" strips of chicken laid across top of salad. It was missing green onions, carrots, pea pods. No Asian vegs. But plopped on a can of small mandarin oranges and a few scattered almonds. I should have refused it, but I had already waited a while. The place was hot with fans blowing. The waitresses were in the back cleaning up loudly slam banging dishes. The cook came out and he was banging the dishes set aside for him. Can think of a more terrible experience? I think they should have said to me they were missing the Asian food items and the chicken serving was not worth putting on the plate. I won't be back. Thank you for ruining my day out. read more

My family enjoyed this place while we were visiting a few years ago . Service was great and friendly back then. Tried to get a table during non peak hours and was met with the most unfriendly hostess . Who was very rude and gruff. Missed out on us . A nice family wanting to have a family meal . This is the first time in Point Lookout that we have encountered such a bad experience. They need a manager to see what's going on in their restaurant. Obviously she was having a bad day. We gave her the chance for over 30 minutes and at that point decided to go down the street to another restaurant where we were met graciously and good service and food. read more

This was our go to place for summer breakfast. Has been going downhill lately. Had the French toast. It was 3 pieces of white bread cut in half barely cooked. Maybe dipped in egg whites. Which I didn't request. Very bland. No taste. Horrible. Served on a plate very unappetizing. Not even a piece of fruit to make it look lively. The waitress was loud and obnoxious any place she went she could be heard. We sat outside. We went for dinner once to give it a try. It was just as horrible. Great location with lots of potential. However, the food is dinner inspired but much better than just regular ole IHOP. I ordered the Eggs Chesapeake and Lemon ricotta pancakes with mixed berry compote. Both of which were insanely delicious! The Eggs Chesapeake is a poached egg on top of a very meaty crab cake, with a grilled tomato and hollandaise sauce. Those crab cakes are to die for. I gave JoJo's a 4 instead of a 5 because Despite the servers being pleasant, service is usually a hit or miss. But the food is always great! The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating with a decent amount of options from sandwiches, burgers, soups, salads and breakfast items. There is parking on the premises, but if the lot is full there are marked spots for two hour parking on the street. The restaurant was moderately filled with other customers. We sat inside and were given menus quickly. I had ordered the gourmet turkey sandwich on the menu. The portion of the sandwich was quite big. It was basically a turkey blt sandwich with avocado. The description for the sandwich said it was suppose to have an avocado mayo spread, but it was more like avocado slices and plain mayo as the spread, but I'm jut being real picky. The edge of the bread was a little burnt and I think the bacon was not as crispy as it could have been. The service was pretty average. The meal was decent, but nothing spectacular. read more
