Even though my furnace was not making any unusual noises, smells, or setting off my carbon monoxide detector, I was still concerned as no other condos in my building or nearby buildings were having the smoke/steam. The employee that initially inspected by furnace (Carlos?) informed me that the heat exchange was clogged and would require me to repair the furnace or purchase a whole new unit (I opted for a whole new unit based on its age). Carlos gave me the impression there was no rush and that it was not something that necessarily needed to be done immediately. When the second employee (Dave?) came later that day to take measurements and verify the replacement unit needed, he made it seem almost emergent and began to wonder aloud if he needed to shut my furnace off that day. The stark contrast between the two was alarming and created a bit of a trust issue on who to believe. Carlos seemed a little green and Dave seemed like more of a veteran. Dave eventually determined it did not need to be shut off as no carbon monoxide was entering my condo. The whole experience did create a bit of a panic for me though, so I quickly accepted the only available appointment within the following two weeks. It was convenient that they could get it replaced just five days later, but if it truly wasn't an emergency then I would have liked a little more time to verify I was getting the best price as it wasn't cheap (to give you an idea this is the largest purchase I've ever made behind my home, education, and car). They do offer payment plans that were easy to enroll in, one of which has 0% interest if paid off within a year. I'm not trying to throw anyone under the bus, but I can tell they really want an honest review as I've received multiple texts and emails asking to leave one. The crew that showed up on the morning of 12/24 to install the new unit were quick and efficient. They were respectful of my property and explained the new thermostat to me. All the employees were friendly, including the ones running the office over the phone (Micah?).

So I thought we would give them a try. Excellent service! He arrived on time and showed me everything that was wrong. Turns out all it needed was a cleaning of some wires and a condensation tube was completely frozen which he took care of immediately. He also took the time to discuss with me of something that needed to be done in the future regarding our unit. Omer was extremely trustworthy and honest! Also the price was extremely reasonable!!! They do not charge an hourly rate for labor but labor is charged by the job. when calculated out I was charged approx $850 an hour! Only choose Burant if you are prepared to be overcharged for repairs. Also I was not told till Today I would be charged a 3% fee for using a credit card since it was over $1k, so had to write a check.

I called Wednesday morning and they said they would have their scheduler call me. Of course I didn't receive a call from anyone at D&J. Finally I called another service company and they said they could have someone out by noon the next day. I called D&J Wednesday afternoon and they said they had a technician coming yet today. I don't believe this as they probably realized they screwed up and re-routed someone to my ticket having totally dropped the ball. I told them how badly they have handled my request and told them to cancel my service call. This is terrible service from a service company. HVAC went on vacation and never called back and after a month of emails i finally received the electrical estimate. I asked for an ETA on the work and if it possible to add one outlet to the job, but if the outlet delayed to proceed with the quoted work. No responses for a few more weeks. Frustrated i called to speak with the office and request a refund. Was told I would be called back. Fast forward to the next week and no call backs, i call again to get a refund and am told that the person able to issue the refunds is aware of me , and im on her list but she hasnt had the time to call me back yet. as they are short staffed in the office and noone else is able to assist. Finally am escalated to someone named amanda who informs me that the person reponsible for refunds will try and call me back within a day or 2. Based on previous experiences, im not hopeful at this point. I hear they do good work BUT with customer service like this i cannot recommond their services at this time.

I have a Nest thermostat and was alerted by the app. I was out of town at the time. He did quick work and got it running within 1/2 hour. Super nice guy and stayed for a bit to assure the furnace was working correctly. Southport was the only company that returned my call within minutes. I recommend Southport and Phil for quick repairs. 5 stars for service but I'm not sure if it was overpriced? They got the job done so my pipes didn't freeze and that's the important part.

I was not sure what I would get as this was my first time working with Southport but all the technicians were polite and friendly.
