Tom to the rescue, again! I've been working with Tom's Dependable Heating & Cooling for over twenty years now, and he continues to be the best service person I've ever had. My A/C wasn't blowing cool air. Tom was as dependable as ever, got it fixed immediately, and with his usual warmth and smile. I couldn't recommend him more highly! Tom and his team are definitely "dependable," but it seems such an understated word for the wonderful service we get every time we need them! read more

we had Tom's out to our house after historic flooding to check the furnace and give us a quote on replacing it. Jason was on time, friendly and professional. He thoroughly inspected it, tweaked a few things and said we were good to g, no need to replace i. Good news. He was here for at least 30 minutes and left without charging us, said he was sure there was no charge. I think he could see by the destruction in our basement that we needed a break, and he did that for us. I highly recommend Tom's! read more

Honest, responsive and a genuinely great guy. We've been customers of Tom's for 25 years. He's come at 4 AM on the coldest night of the year to repair our furnace quickly. He's been here on hot days to repair our ancient AC unit. I hope he never retires. Thanks Tom! read more

Tom has always treated us promptly, fairly, and with great service. I bought my Furnace, A/C, Humidifier, and had some duct work done, and could not be more satisfied. They will not sell something you don't need- and that's an important thing to know about him and his crew. I plan on having TH&C back for an in-line booster for our upstairs Cape Cod, and perhaps some return ducting in the very near future. Great work, and we trust them. read more

When we called because our furnace stopped working and our hot water heater was leaking on the 29th of December, a very polite crew, that included the boss, Tom arrived within hours and repaired our furnace quickly. Three days later very nice technicians arrived to install a new water heater. I highly recommend this company. We got great service even though we were new customers. read more

High quality, honest business, with prices that don't break the bank. I highly recommend.

Great service, very responsive, honest and I highly recommend Tom's Dependable! Tom has installed my attic air conditioner system and done work on my boiler. Great experience! read more

We just received EXCELLENT service from Tom who arrived at our door this very hot evening, literally not more than 30 minutes after I called him, for an air conditioner leak that could've flooded our ceiling as the compressor is in the attic (we had a similar issue apparently not fixed correctly last year). He checked our pans, did a checkover on the unit, blew out the clog that was in the piping, checked the drainage to make sure it was working correctly and checked our Freon level. He was kind, thorough and incredibly reasonably priced for coming on such a hot evening so fast. I would recommend Tom's Dependable service to anyone! read more

This is, without doubt, the BEST service company I have ever dealt with. They installed a new HVAC system at a fair price and I will recommend them to any friends and neighbors who need assistance. They were friendly, knowledgeable, trustworthy and patient in answering questions, etc...etc. No wonder they came so highly recommended.... just plain "as good as it gets"!! Thanks gentlemen :) read more

We first contacted TDHC (Tom's Dependable Heating & Cooling) for a repair of our existing furnace. After receiving quick, professional, knowledgeable repair service from Jamie, who also educated us on the options available with new furnaces, we decided to retain TDHC to replace our 30 year old system with a new Rheem 2-phase furnace, thermostat, air conditioner and Aprilaire humidifier. Ryan put together the specifications and price estimate for us, and Carlo and Danny came out and installed the new system and hauled away our old one. Ryan also came back to assist with some portions of the installation. The techs were friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. They took all the steps necessary to earn their reputation as an honest, affordable and knowledgeable team of experts. Thank you TDHC!! read more

Jamie came out to service my furnace today after having no heat for the last two days. I called around and they were the only ones able to do it right away. Jamie was very professional and educated me a lot on what was going on, he even hooked up my humidifier correctly, which Affordable Heating didn't do properly. He took the time and figured out the problem, and it cost under $100! I would recommend this company to anyone, their employees are honest and excellent at their work! I'm pleased to say I have a go to heating/cooling company! read more

My fan on my furnace/AC unit stopped working. Tom's sent over a repair expert who replaced the unit in about 1 hour. He was very friendly and gave me much helpful advice. He was on time and the cost was very reasonable. read more

My husband and I just moved into a new house, that was a foreclosure, a few weeks ago. After being in the house for 24 hours, we realized the A/C wasn't cooling the house down like it should. We called Tom's Dependable Heating & Cooling and they were able to come out later that day, despite the 90 degree temperatures and being extremely busy. They found out that our A/C didn't have any coolant an it, and in their very thorough inspection of our A/C system, they found out the previous owners of the house had stuck a screwdriver in the coils. Tom's was back out 3 days later to fix our air conditioner, and in the mean time they gave us an estimate on installing a gas line in our laundry room so we could hook up our dryer. They were back out the following week because our A/C had stopped working again -- this time it had frozen up. Tom spent 2.5 hours here figuring out what was wrong, and thoroughly cleaning and thawing out our unit. A few days later, I'm sure they could drive to our house blindfolded by now, they came back out and installed the gas line -- the price was exactly what they had quoted us previously. It's now 8 pm on a Friday night, and they are here yet again, installing a switch that they ordered for us on our A/C that will keep the fan going but shut the unit off when it freezes. Tom's has been amazing -- the prices are fair, the people are great, and no matter how busy they are they do what they can to fit you into their schedule -- especially on really hot days! I can't say enough good things about Tom's Dependable Heating & Cooling - I plan on continuing to use them for all our heating and cooling needs in the future! read more

I have used "Tom's" twice and have been extremely happy both times. Not only was I able to get an appointment quickly, the cost was less as compared to other companies I contacted. Highly recommended. read more

When my furnace decided to take an unfortunate break in the middle of a severe cold snap -- I checked around and read a lot of reviews - ultimately I decided on Tom's Dependable Heating & Cooling, and was not disappointed. Tom graciously adjusted his schedule to accommodate my crazy schedule and got things taken care of quickly. He is very knowledgable, friendly, efficient and down to earth and pricing was very reasonable. I was more than pleased with my experience and would highly recommend Tom's for all your heating & cooling needs. read more

Absolutely THE best! I've never written a review on a company because I've always experienced pretty mediocre customer service, but I've used Tom's a few times now and have always been SO happy with the service that I decided I needed to post. He always schedules you in asap....which for me has always been that same day! He is very thorough in assessing the issue. Very good at what he does and doesn't try to up-sell or take advantage like a previous other company I called a while back did....he's a VERY honest and fair guy. Super nice (as is his other staff) and they definitely go the extra mile in customer service. While he was here assessing my furnace issue, his partner educated me on why a few of my radiators were not heating properly and showed me a simple fix that I could do to myself. I would very highly recommend them and will be calling them for future work!! Thanks Tom's!! read more

Tom's came personally recommended from some very trustworthy sources so my expectation was great service. My expectations were not only met but exceeded. The existing high efficiency furnace in my house (a foreclosure) was installed in 1988. When I first moved in at the end of February 2014 it was still working fairly well. But the next winter approached it showed signs of rebellion. After my cleaning the heat exchanger didn't cure some minor blow black (flames going out the furnace not into the heat exchanger) I asked for a recommendation and Tom's was suggested. I called and the next evening Tom was out to look at it. I explained the situation and he knew right away what the cause was on the model furnace I had and explained it to me. I went into the meeting knowing I was going to have a new furnace installed so he wasn't trying to sell me anything at that point; just confirmed what I assumed. He provided two options; a 93% efficient or a 95% efficient model (Rheem). Now the extra cost of higher efficiency appliances are not always easy to recoup. Sometimes you break even about the same time as you need to purchase the next one. But Tom explained the added benefits of the new EC motors used in the blower and that I would be saving money during summer as well while running the AC. Plus there was a rebate from the gas company for the 95%+ furnaces so I'd be better off in only a few years. I then asked about stepping up in size as I was going to run more ductwork later on to areas that didn't already have vents. But Tom said all I needed was the 60K BTU model for my home, anything larger would be a waste. It's always reassuring when someone talks you out of spending money. Being the busy season I did have to wait a week to have the furnace installed. I'm sure they would have done it faster if It were an emergency but I have electric baseboard heat in some places so I wasn't freezing (and I should have had it done in summer anyway). The two guys who came to install it (Brad and Dan, I think) were great. Very professional and quick. They arrived around 9am and were out by 11:30am. They even offered to haul away an old water heater I had outside that needed to be taken to recycling. Above and beyond! Now I'm sitting in my warm home with my super quiet furnace suggesting that you give Tom's a call if you need heating or cooling work done. read more

I have posted on this site before about my new air conditioning unit . I thought I should update you about my furnace. I noticed a smell coming from the pipe that was the outside exhaust from my furnace. I called the gas company and was told I had a carbon monoxide problem and the gas company was obligated to ticket the furnace and could not be operated until it was repaired. Once again I called Tom's dependable heating and he returned the call within minutes. The guy from the gas company was still at my house.! That was Tuesday night. By Thursday night the new furnace was installed and all was well. I can't say enough good things about this family run business! Service is OUTSTANDING ! Wouldn't call anyone else. read more

This is the first review I've ever completed, but the excellent service we received from Tom's warrants this review. We like many others in MKE experienced A/C malfunction last week. Despite being spread very thin Tom came to our house and evaluated our unit the same day. He was honest in his assessment that our unit is under warranty, and that he couldn't service that warranty, but he directed us to another business that could. Everyone we encountered with this business was courteous and professional, beginning with the friendly lady who answered the phone (and who herself was quite knowledgeable about heating and cooling). We will be directing all of our friends and neighbors to this business without reservation, and we thank them. read more
