On their radio show they frequently made the point of Capital's complete analysis of your existing system and equipment. Many potential improvements to my older system were discussed and how this would provide better comfort and efficiency. Justin D. explained in language I could understand and answered all my questions. I appreciated their respect for my home and wore disposals slip on booties. I noticed they were the only HVAC company to actually use a scope type camera tool to validate problem areas. They showed me, real time, what they discovered. I feel they were the most thorough and felt my issues were each addressed. I have not yet made a final decision on my replacement company but I solidly recommend Capital Heating as a quality organization with great customer service and support.

Within two hours, Matt was at my house. Matt diagnosed the issue, explained my options at different price points, and gave me realistic expectations for each. What I appreciated most was that he really let me take the lead without ever making me feel pressured. I ultimately decided to replace my 21-year-old A/C unit. My one critique is that I didn't get to choose the specific unit. That said, Nordic picked a dang good one. They properly sized the system for my house and handled the installation. If I had to do it again, I honestly would have called Nordic sooner. I also would have asked about replacing my thermostat while they were there--my current one is old and yellowing, although it's certainly no big deal. Matt was back within 48 hours with his apprentice, Brandon. Both are young, but incredibly sharp. Brandon walked me through every component, explained what everything did, and showed me how to maintain the system. Matt stood there like a proud parent (they're within 10 years of each other) and confirmed everything Brandon explained. Throughout the entire process, I felt completely comfortable with both of them coming in and out of my home. They were knowledgeable, respectful, communicative, and easy to work with. The crew brought space heaters to our home to keep us warm for the 24 hours before the new furnace would be installed. They replaced our furnace on the "coldest day" in 6 years (literally - January 21st)! Every crew member was friendly, and polite and took great care to keep our home clean. They covered our floors, wore shoe covers, and even vacuumed the area where they worked in the basement. We have been a loyal customer for decades. We highly recommend Dave Perry Heating & Cooling. The new company found that the Southport tech left the service cap off after adding refrigerant so it all leaked out!!! Southport had 3 different techs come before we got the second opinion....either it is gross incompetence or a scam!!!! You decide. I cant believe the level that they went to to try and get me to buy new unit when mine is only ten years old and worked fine until Southport came for the routine inspection. I'd prefer to talk to a human instead of a machine up front even if they can't answer all my questions immediately. They took my info and had a tech call me. They estimated a big window for service (5+hrs) but when all was said and done the tech was at my door within an hour of my initial call. Brandon was very polite and solved the problem quickly. It looks like they will do heating, cooling and plumbing throughout Milwaukee, Waukesha, (and possibly) Washington counties. I would definitely recommend!

While I was not crazy about Pam in our initial interaction, she got better over time. After comparing multiple bids, I selected Seider, their Daikin Central Air unit came with an almost unheard of 12 year parts and labor warranty. With a little back and forth with Todd on a time for installation, we were all set. Pam and I scheduled the day and time and sure enough, the installers were there exactly when Pam said they would be. Just two minor quibbles that prevented five stars here: 1) After installation, the installers left behind some screws on the floor that I naturally stepped on in stocking feet several days later. 2) The electrician asked before using my bathroom, but did not feel the need to wash his hands afterwards. Everything else was great and I would use them again in the future.

He retired, the company changed hands a couple years ago and this is what happened. The new tech "Nick" arrived and immediately declared our existing unit obsolete. He never layed a meaningful hand on the equipment. Since it was 26 years old I decided to go with his advice which lead to cursory look at our furnace and a caution that "Carrier" was fazing out of residential HVAC equipment and they no longer sold it. He suggested that we stop right there before he did any "work" and have his brother "Dan" come in to give me an estimate on replacing both units. He said there would be NO CHARGE for him since he hadn't done anything. He left and Dan came an hour later and gave me an estimate for roughly $14,000. It was emailed to me. When I looked for it the first thing I saw was a bill for $135 for "Cancelling the Tune-up"! There was nothing wrong with my equipment so I called the "office" and this awful receptionist, Heather, immediately got defensive. She insisted that the technician should have told me about the charge and that she would have a lien put on our house if I didn't pay! She Hung up when I told her that she likely just caused her company to lose a $14,000 job. I called back the next day, hoping to get through to anyone who understood the situation. If they were going to charge me $135 for nothing, I wanted them to come back for the $179 tune-up. "Heather" answered again and refused to forward the call, and hung up again! I am a respected business man in the real estate and financial business for over 40 years. I have given out hundreds of referrals over that time. I would never recommend this HVAC company again if they were the last one on earth!

I turned it down and called E&R Heating and the trip charge was $125 and then the thermostat plus install was another $100 for a total of $225. I have rental properties that I don't manage anymore so I haven't had to call an HVAC person in years since the property manager does that for me. I knew the price should be around $200-300 total and almost $1000 was just insane.
