I just found out he left a message on Yelp for me requesting we talk about the questions. Without the answers to the questions I couldn't compare his estimate to the other estimates as an "apples to apples" comparison. The questions: - does the price include all permits - does the price include all taxes - does the price include removal & disposal of the old AC unit & clean up after installation It's unfortunate because with more information I may have gone with him, though one issue I had is that the 10 year warranty offered included only parts, not parts and labor. That may not have been an issue if his price was low enough that the savings over going with someone else was high enough to make the risk of taking on potential labor costs acceptable.

The technician who did the work was polite and did a good job. He was fast and efficient and cleaned up behind himself when he finished. I was satisfied with the work that was done. He was done in 2 1/2 hours. The billing is another story. When the bill came, it was $925 with a note explaining that their labor is $42.50 per QUARTER HOUR. In other words they charge $170 per hour for labor. I think that is outrageous. When I looked at the labor charges on the bill, they billed me for 3 1/2 hours even though he was only here 2 1/2 hours. The "materials" charge was $330 and was not itemized. The only "materials" were the faucet itself ($150 at Home Depot) and 2 short pieces of hose. There was nothing special about the faucet. It was just a basic Moen faucet. The workmanship? Good. The billing? WAY too expensive and vague. Would I use them again? I don't think so.
