Wade carefully walked through & came up with a detailed estimate. Current could coordinate to do the major messy work while we were out of town. We had already built a level of trust & the crew led by Drake was fantastic. Really enjoyed working with Drake. The office communicated well each day they would be scheduled at the property. Payment was easy. No surprises on the billing. Everything clearly spelled out. No extra charge for using a credit card. We would recommend Current Electric. I called for an appointment and waited one week. The day of the appointment I called to get a window of time when the electrician would be coming to complete the requested work. None could be given except that I would receive a call thirty minutes prior to the arrival. At 2:30 in the afternoon the call finally happened and he said he'd be here in 20 minutes. The technician arrived and within 15 minutes I was told that he'd have to run diagnostic testing. I had to sign off off on the paperwork charging me over $300 or I could pay the $75 trip charge and nothing would be completed. Of course after waiting a week and most of the day I signed the contract. 15 minutes later the problem was identified and fixed, a ridiculous amount of money was charged. I do not recommend this company!!! Although the work was completed within 35 minutes start to finish, the amount of money spent was way over the top! I'm more than sure another company could have done just as good a job, given me a time frame when they would arrive and charged me less than half of what I was charged. I highly recommend using Current Electric!! I have pretty high ceilings (about 14 feet if not a little more) and we wanted light fixtures with fans. Calling them and booking everything was so easy. They came and gave an estimate - then rolled in the price of the estimate into the work since we decided to go with them. They were less expensive than another company I looked at so I decided to go with them and they did a great job! One of the light fixtures I bought was broken (unknown to me) and they didn't even tell me until later that they went to get a replacement for me and didn't charge me for it! Admittedly they were unsure if they broke it, but either way it was nice that they took care of it without needing me to go get and pay for the replacement. After a Lightning strike I called for emergency service. Called Saturday for emergency service and never got a return call back. On Monday I tried to call for regular service but each time I called the main number I was hung up on. It said I could leave a message but then said the mail box was full and hung up. I then used chat on the website who offered me a date a week or two out. This was unacceptable for an emergency after having a lightning strike. The system that Current Electric uses is very flawed, so don't expect to get emergency service from them. I have used them before and spent thousands of dollars on upgrades but will think twice before using them again. read more

We were referred to Current Electric when our heated flooring stopped working. They fixed it by installing a new thermostat, and during the process they also checked out our electrical panel. They told us that basically due to shoddy work by the previous homeowner, it needed to be completely replaced, along with the wiring on the outside of the house. They quoted us $6,800 for the work. We took it seriously and decided to get a couple other opinions. We were told by 2 other companies that replacing anything was completely unnecessary and sounded like someone was trying to rip us off... We were told there was some very minor work that should be done to make sure everything is to code, but otherwise our electrical looks great and should last us another 35 years. I really feel like Current Electric was trying to take advantage of us, and I won't ever be using them again. read more

They are prompt, professional and offer me several solutions, including cost, for issues I am having. I have always been pleased with the results. The worst abusive treatment ever. Hired these people who did the opposite than what was very specific replacement of old wiring, fixture, switches dimmable. The electrician left the old wiring, fixture, switches and replaced the fixture only. I guess this Electrician thought this was ok because of the area, but it was not. He then lied to the staff and stated I wanted this installation. I immediately contacted the off and dealt with Dan. Dan had zero manners and lied saying he would have to do all projects at once when he was supposed to redo the poor workmanship waisting my time. Rude, horrible, personality and when I asked to speak to the owner and refund the refund took 11 months. This is a greedy, group of unprofessional nonresponsive, dishonest Electricians. I was remodeling my house and decided to hang new light fixtures. I came across a problem with live wires in the lighting case. I lost power to my door bell, my laundry room, and of course I couldn't hang my new light! I called Roman electric, they were going to take five days to get out to my house. I called Current and the secretary told me I might be lucky because some people canceled. I had a guy out in an hour! I got the problem fixed for $483.00. We received a quote from Current Electric that was $3000 more for the same Generac generator that another reputable electrical company ( sent from Generac) gave us!!!!! Current wouldn't match the price. They admit that they're a lot more expensive for the exact same project. We also had a terrible experience with a simple recessed light ( we purchased ourselves) that we needed installed for a new closet. The 2 original lights needed to be disconnected. Instead of getting the closet lighting done the day of the appointment, after they inspected the closet project, we were blindsided by an offer of a complimentary total electrical house inspection! We were convinced by the electrician that this was a necessary safety inspection because of the age of our home-50 years. We never received a written invoice, just verbally the "bundled" price and we paid half down. When we left several voicemails for a written invoice they were never returned. They returned a week later to do the project. They were an hour and a half late. Worked for about 4 hours. Took an hour lunch break in between. The electrician (employed by Current for 5 years) had to come back 3 different days after they finished their work because we discovered outlets not working! He said he had never worked with the apprentice before (employed by Current for 3 years) and that the apprentice was supposed to check that everything they did was working correctly. On the third day he said we should have more wiring redone because of the age of our home. Shouldn't that have been included in the complimentary whole house inspection quote? We were charged close to $3000 for approximately 12 outlets/switches and wiring to the lights! When we finally were able to talk to a person- weeks later- they apologized that we didn't get an invoice emailed or calls returned. They were having issues with both their emails and voicemails!!! When we asked for a cost breakdown of services they couldn't tell us because of their 5 star price bundling. However when their project manager looked over the pricing twice he said it was all fair. We don't understand how he could look over the pricing twice and say it was fair, but couldn't break it down for us. In hindsight we should have refused the whole house electrical inspection and just received a quote on the closet project. They did refund $200 after complaining. Still very dissatisfied; feel scammed, but learned a very expensive lesson! read more

I came back from a work trip to find a broken water heater, electric range, and air conditioner. Lights were eerily flickering and my tv/computer were repeatedly turning on and off. It was pure chaos and I panicked trying to sort it out. I called 4 electrical companies that offered "24 hour emergency service," but it played out to be more of a gimmick until my last phone call. At fricken 9pm on the Friday night of 4th of July weekend, Dan from Current Electric was the only person to pick up, and instantly began to trouble shoot and look for a solution. Not once did I sense any hesitation or guilt tripping for the crappy circumstances and timing of this job, which goes a long way when you're asking someone to work on a Friday night. He was extremely prompt and responsive, and communication was fluid. He anticipated that the problem had to do with the provider's equipment, and went up to bat for me time after time while they tried to brush it off and ignore their responsibilities. Not only did Dan solve my problem, but he did the electric provider's job FOR THEM and never ceased to put the client first. He even explained everything in real time, and offered me a way to improve my entire system for the future. He is a really chill dude on top of that, and I am a firm believer that people only do business with people they like. I would highly recommend Current Electric for any kind of job. Not in the "nothing too big or too small we do it all" type of way; rather in a "this guy knows his s**t and actually cares about his clients" type of way. Things started out great they even came a day earlier than what was planned Jacob or Jake came with a ride along must've been a trainee who said his name was Joe I advised them that the furnace keeps tripping the breaker and when I went to reset the breaker the breaker sparked and the thermostat itself which was digital would not even light up I walked away from the breaker box to let my wife know that they said they didn't need to turn off the main power at all. We had a pretty good experience with 2 of the younger techs they sent out to our older home. The previous home owner had a updated his main panel, however many of the outlets were not grounded and nothing had a GFCI. The techs for Current gave us a good/ better/ best scenario for pricing for updating the electrical. There were no other hidden fees outside of that since they waived the trip charge for being behind schedule. Based on what we researched they are priced appropriately, and being given different options for the scope of work was really helpful. read more

We scheduled an appointment two weeks in advance for 7:30am. Two consecutive days prior we received a phone call from the office, in the afternoon, that a technician was available, could he come then. Both days we had to decline because we both work and could not accommodate such last minute notice which is why we scheduled an appointment. On the second last minute request to come, we were told they couldn't come the next day at our scheduled 7:30 time because of an inspection at another job, but we would receive a status call between 8:30-9:00 as to when the tech would arrive. I scheduled off work for this. At nearly 9:30 I called them and was told the same inspection issue. I'm puzzled so I asked if there was only 1 technician because we had a scheduled appointment. I'm told no, but inspections can be difficult. I'm understanding of that, but my issue is the lack of concern for my time. If they knew 1-2 days in advance they were having issues or there would be an issue with keeping an appointment that had been on the books for 2 weeks, either effectively communicate this or assign the appointment to a different technician. When I told the office lady I had taken off work because of the scheduled appointment and now I'm wasting my time waiting. She stated I didn't have to wait around, they will call me. How nice. I received a call 2 hours later that someone could be there in about an hour. I declined. Very poor customer service, a lack of communication and a total disregard for my time. read more

TOTALLY NOT SATISFIED. We got a bathroom ventilation fan from Home Depot and they recommended Current Electric. The company took advantage of a me who is in a wheelchair and totally overcharged me for the job. They charged me $1500.00 to install the fan and it's not even a 2 story house. They also said that the joy would take 8-9 hours and it didn't. It only took them 3 hours. When I confronted them on the time it took and said it shouldn't cost this much they stuttered and said, "it's the same price no matter how long it took." Well also my mom didn't get up into the attic until after they left and they left a mess and damage. They damaged our wall in the bathroom as well. We reported it to Home Depot and they got Current Electric to come back out to try and fix the issues. Well they just left and now at least the bathroom wall looks better. However the attic now has a hole in the floor where the fan is and the piece of wood that the guy cut he threw into our inflation. DO NOT WHATEVER YOU DO HIRE THIS COMPANY THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU AND DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR HOME. read more

I called current electric because we were losing power to half of our home we just purchased. They came out and determined it was due to a short in a light fixture. They removed the fixture told us we needed a new one and left. Then 3 days later we lost power again, we called them back out and the technician said he could not determine or could not recreate the power loss we were experiencing. Now 2 days later we are losing power again, I've decided to go with a different company. They came out determined it was a bad breaker, replaced it and we have been back in business now w/o problems. I really liked the friendly and prompt service of current electric, but I don't believe they have the skill or knowledge to diagnose my problem, especially when another company can come out and find it within a half hour. We hired Current Electric to install two basic motion sensing flood lights I had picked up from Home Depot (total cost of about $75) and to put one interior light switch on a dimmer. I should have called around to get multiple quotes but having just moved into a house we purchased I was getting contractor fatigue by this point with other projects around the place we needed to get done (shame on me). Anyway, the service was positive and the crew friendly (one was either a master or journeyman and one was an apprentice) but feel the cost for the job was exorbitant. The job took them just over an hour and Current charged us just shy of $500, even with the apprentice doing two of the three installs. We'll be looking to install a back up generator in the not to distant future and certainly have learned our lesson to shop around more when it comes to electrical work, even for straight forward projects. read more

Each time their workers displayed respect, knowledge and performed at a high level of quality work . True professionalism was on display today as Taylor and Jake completed their job. He was accompanied by a what I presumed to be a trainee that he was trying to impress with his vast "13" years of knowledge. what he neglected to show him was how to deal with a prospective customer. He told me that this was the worst mess he had ever seen and that it would cost at least $5000K to repair and that one of the walls would have to come down. That was before he ever entered the area in question. I told him that what was there had worked just fine for 38 years and that in my 79 years of experience it wasn't as bad as he was implying. I then thanked him for coming. My point is that he really didn't want to do the job and was more interested in leaving. I found someone else to do it read more

Current has done several jobs in my home and in a rental unit I owned, and will probably do more as we update our home. Their crew, particularly Joe and Harper, has gone above and beyond to make sure our projects are done on time, professionally, and to our satisfaction. They've even cleaned up a few mistakes or oversights they came across as various contractors crossed paths during our projects. As a general contractor I was referred to Current Electric as experts in resolving issues with heated flooring. My clients floor was not heating. They came on time. They had to trouble shoot to determine whether there was a short or open in the walls, flooring or the thermostat. They have all the equipment to do this. Very sophisticated approach. The thermostat was the issue. They had a replacement with them. The billing was very reasonable. I'm happy and so is the client. read more

Home Depot recommended Current Electric, after the first company didn't return calls to install a standard cooktop at my home. Played telephone tag with Current, but finally a date was set. I was shocked when the Current tech called me with a price of $492 to: remove existing cooktop, install new FBO unit. Sleeve old wire to bring it up to code, disconnect existing venting. After the work was done, Home Depot called Current to get a breakdown of the bill. No luck. Next time when given a quote that I'm uneasy about, I'll say no and work harder to find other options. read more
