Bottom line, they did a great job and I was happy with the overall work. I would just make sure to ask them if the new unit will fit into the space that you have available. Just so that you don't get a surprise extra expense.

From the start, the process was confusing and did not inspire confidence. We were initially told the HVAC system would be replaced, but later informed that the space would not accommodate it as planned. The scope of work seemed unclear and ultimately was not completed as originally explained. Since installation, we have continued to experience significant temperature imbalance throughout the home. The living room becomes very cold, while the bedroom remains warm and uncomfortable--especially at night. This has been a consistent issue for the past year. Additionally, the system appears to be oversized for a home of this size. Installing a three-ton unit in a 972 sq ft space raises concerns about improper system sizing, which can lead to short cycling, poor airflow distribution, and uneven temperatures--exactly what we are experiencing. Communication has also been extremely frustrating. We have struggled to get clear answers or meaningful follow-up regarding these ongoing issues, despite raising concerns multiple times. We were recently informed that the project passed inspection, but passing inspection does not reflect real-world performance. A properly installed HVAC system should provide consistent comfort throughout the home, and that is not happening here. After a full year of unresolved issues, incomplete work, and lack of communication, we cannot recommend this company.

He's knowledgeable, straightforward, and takes the time to explain what he finds without making us feel pressured. Matt is fantastic to work with and truly an asset to Huft. We let the employee know that we keep our home cold, 68 degrees. We were assured the unit could meet this. My mom used Huft with good results and she had a unit that had to no problem keeping her house cold. During install there were delays and we were without AC in July. At the end of one day they told us they may not be able to return the following day due to prior commitments. I let them know I found this unacceptable and they returned. During the project, one of the technicians hit our brand new car while it was parked across the street. We witnessed the accident. Huft paid for the repair but it was highly inconvenient and frustrating, our car didn't even have plates yet. After the project was complete, our home would not cool below 75 degrees. I kept letting them know I felt the unit was too small for our home and this wasn't what we agreed to. We were told using calculations the unit was the correct size and cooling to 75 was appropriate. I mentioned my mom has a bigger unit and a smaller home. This was the reply I received from the manager, Chris: "If I feel the system is too small for the home I will have a larger one installed, I told you we stand behind our work 100%, but I am not going to just arbitrarily replace it with a larger one just because you "think" it is too small because your mom has a larger one." He was rude, arrogant and unhelpful. Ultimately they replaced it with a larger unit and shocker, it cools to 68 degrees as promised but it was months of back and forth to get to that point. We are having insulation replaced this week and we found out Huft left all the old duct work in our attic. Disappointing. We do use their maintenance plan and have always liked the technicians but given the choice over again we would choose someone else for install given the rude behavior from management and our install experience.

He had all the necessary parts already with him and within an hour he had everything fixed and working even better than before.
