Once I realized I went in there to try and see if maybe it was a mistake instead they denied ever charging me that amount, but then showed me a receipt with that amount and that it was rejected. 12/31/2023 - Visiting MI from CA and decided to get a pedicure. Found JL Nails near my mother in laws so decided to try. Had a great experience, although their English is limited they did a great job and nice service. I did the Jelly Pedicure - don't know what the jelly does but it foamed up and enveloped my feet with soft warmth. Felt really nice and was great for a full rainy day. Do not recommend this place at all. Came in with another person as an appointment and they sat us as far apart as possible. When they buffed/filed my nails, it was done to the point that it was so painful that I had to pull my hands away multiple times. They did not do any cuticle work, so my nails looked grown out after a week. I had a reference photo where a few nails were nude and instead of using polish they left them the pink color of the acrylic (no paint whatsoever). The language barrier seemed large enough that they did not understand what I wanted, and they did not shorten my nails even after asking multiple times. They clipped my real nails so extremely short and then put the glue on my nail bed. Because of this, when the nails started falling off the ones that were glued to my skin/nail bed were bleeding and it was so so so painful. Anytime my nails started falling touched anything it was agony and I could not get it to come off for days. At the end, they also seemed like they were just making prices up as I got relatively simple nails and the person I was with got a lot more complex designs and there was only a $5 difference and they were discussing price as we were waiting to pay. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! My friend and I got our nails done here today. Before we went, we asked if they accepted Afterpay, and they said, "Yes, we do." We asked again when we arrived, and they confirmed, "Yes, we do." However, when it was time to pay, they said they don't accept it, which was our only form of payment at the time. Additionally, when they took my phone to scan for payment, they tried to click on a different card I had on my phone without informing me, which was very uncomfortable. I've seen Ken every two weeks since August of 2021. He's perfection with my nails. I always leave with my nails looking perfect. He's also the quickest mail tech I've ever had. I honestly wish I hadn't left with these nails, but my friend was already waiting and had been done for a while. In my nails you can see where they sealed some black speck into my nails, and attached are also the pictures I showed for the accent nail. Overall it was frustrating and I was in pain multiple times. I didn't like the way they interacted with other customers either, but that's not my interaction to review ‍ it was $45 for the acrylic set, then they charged $5 for each accented nail. Sad nail service. My nails look very poor. And uneven. He spent a lot of time of them. Pinky wouldn't stop bleeding. Paid a lot of money and tipped very well because he took forever on them. I got my feet done, then proceeded to wait over a hour while watching everyone clean or play on there phones. They "forgot" my nails needed to be done. My daughters nails turned out great. The only benefit that this place has is that it's open on sundays if your desperate but I had a terrible experience. I went in for a mani pedi and the women was very rude. I think she was mad that I wasn't getting dip or shellac just regular polish and the pain job is an absolute monstrosity. They ground down my fake nails to nothing when I asked for a trim, did a horrible job with the fill and my cuticles were bleeding like crazy from them grinding. I was almost in tears from the pain. This place is awful. My sibling and i went in yesterday (i got a pedicure and she got a full set) i asked for the deluxe. She sat me down first and i sat there for 20 minutes waiting for her to start: she finally starts and then says to give her a couple minutes and is gone for another 30 minutes. She then comes back and puts my feet in these plastic bags of boiling hot wax then walks away. I've never had a deluxe pedicure like this. At this point my sister is just getting started with her nails. He drills her nail for 30 minutes and it's super painful for her. He finally finishes and she's left with dried nail polish on her finger. My toe nail polish looks like someone drug their finger through it as well. Worst nail experience ever. read more

I came here regularly when it was the previous owner, then I moved away from the area and moved back. I have given them multiple chances but I'm always disappointed. I get gel nails. They will always drill them too aggressively which leads to breaking and peeling. I never had this issue before. I kindly asked to not drill so aggressively and I was rudely told that it's how my nails are. They paint too thickly, which will cause the polish to peel. They don't push the cuticles back all the way, if at all. They file the nails unevenly, and I have to file them evenly after I leave. Today, I left and after stepping out into the natural light, I could see that the entire left hand had speckles in the polish, as if file dust got in the polish. I was told: "I don't see anything". She repainted the one hand which now results in one hand having two additional coats and obviously thicker than the other hand. I was patient and kind in my complaint, I did not deliver it with any hostility; I received an attitude in response though. Both of my nails burnt terribly as well, which I have NEVER experienced. I will never be returning. The mail technicians do not take pride in their work and rush through sloppily. read more

While they were great at getting everyone from the bridal party in, everything else was pretty awful. Went in as part of a bridal party on Friday (it's Tuesday). I got a basic shellac on my real nail and my index finger has already had the polish peeled off. I've had shellac for a few months and I've never had it peel like this. Very irritated. Another bridesmaid had chips the next day and I've had cracks begin to form on my nails as well. On top of that, my nails are not filed in a rounded shape, they're not even filed in ANY consecutive shape. The girls who received a pedicure paid $30 and each pedicure lasted about 15 minutes. However, the last time we went, the gentleman told me that my total was $195, but they were running a special so, since there were two of us, we'd get 20% off. He then told me my total was $175, on top of which, we tipped them extra in cash! 20% off $195 is NOT the same as $20 off $195. I should still be refunded another $20, but magically, I can't contact anyone! We will not be going back! Which is sad because they do such a great job! read more

I have no idea what my guys name was he was doing my nails while doing two other customers nails as well. Rushed through the whole process and got BLACK polish all over my fingers. The polish didn't reach the top of my nail bed and he then proceeded to clip, WITH NAIL CLIPPERS, the excess polish he got on my skin. I had a deluxe pedicure from Cindy a couple of weeks ago and it was fantastic! She spent a lot of time working on my feet for the pedicure and gave me a wonderful foot massage. She also massaged, scrubbed with a lavender paste and applied warm towels and hot stones to my calves. All for the price of $40! I will definitely be returning to this salon!
