Honestly this was the most disappointing massage I've ever had. My husband booked us a couples massage after a very stressful few weeks. We confirmed that we wanted deep tissue when we got there and were taken back to a room. We were not asked about what areas we wanted focus on or area we did not want. The older gentleman that did my massage spent the first thirty minutes basically just rubbing in light circles. Seriously, my 8 year old applies my pressure. The second 30 minutes was not any better. My husband had gotten a couples Swedish massage for us. Before going into the room, they asked, "Just relaxation, not deep tissue?" We said, "Yes." I have had deep tissue massages before as an athlete, but this was the weirdest, most painful thing I have ever experienced. It reminded me of what a silent chiropractor may do. My bones cracked, my limbs were placed in odd positions, and the pressure was soooooo hard that I really believed I would either have bruises or broken bones. It was the longest 60 minutes of my life, and I just wanted to run out of there. Hot stones were put on us without warning, and it was all just so strange--this is not to even mention the lack of communication and the obvious language barrier. I was in so much pain when we left that I had to take an Epson salt bath and Tylenol, and I am hopeful that I will not still be in pain tomorrow. My back, shoulders, and arms were not sore before going in, and now I am in soooo much pain that I don't even want to move. read more

I came in for the half hour $39 massage to relieve some upper back pain. Lady at the front says "you're so beautiful, black?" as she points to my skin. "Can't be, very light and eyes different color." I didn't even know how to respond. Then she tries pushing for hot stones and I say no even though she keeps trying to insist. I get in to do my massage and the lady who is doing it barely speaks english so I have to tell her 3 separate times it's too hard. Then she goes ahead and does the hot stones anyway and doesn't give warning when she puts them on me. I was charged $50 instead of $39 and charged for the hot stones even though I said multiple times I didn't want them. Also they do pressure people in the tips. We came for the couples massage. My neck had so much tension and I have had trouble sleeping. The lady at front asked us both what our areas of discomfort were and made sure those were focused on. There is a somewhat communication barrier for someone w a lack of patience. They do have groupons but they Prefer you pay w them. I HIGHLY recommend the hot stones. Truly was a great massage and I asked for deep pressure. I will be coming back for sure The location is relaxing, it is clean and they are polite. Um. Just no. Maybe I'm just not used to small-town places, having lived in Chicago and Denver prior to moving here. But wow. I cannot believe how unprofessional this place was. * First, my boyfriend had called to book an appointment. He already told the person on the phone that I wanted a hot stone therapeutic massage. But when I came in, the woman (presumably the owner) pointed to a menu on the wall (like it's a pizza place...so weird) and asked me what I wanted. For some reason she tried to talk me into a deep-tissue massage by literally touching my back without asking me, and I had to say no more than once, telling her I just like a relaxing massage. * The same woman took me to the room, told me I could take my underwear off or leave it on. Given that I did not know this place, I chose to leave it on. Well, I needn't have bothered because my massage therapist immediately pulled it down to below my rear end!!! It was so weird. I was so uncomfortable. * The room the woman put me in was just off the lobby--you can literally see the lobby while standing in the room if the door is open. While I was getting my massage, the same woman opened the door to talk to my massage therapist--not once, but twice! This is WHILE I was on the table with no clothes on. What the...??? SO inappropriate! Oh wait, it gets better. * Toward the end of the massage, she started doing this sort of massage/physical therapy where she was moving my limbs around all different ways. First of all, I was afraid she was going to pull a muscle (mine, not hers, lol), so I was desperately trying to relax into it, but I did not like it at all. I was lying face-down and she was sitting on her chair at my head. At one point she took my hand and placed it on my head, hooked her arm through mine, and pulled my entire upper body off the table, exposing my naked chest. Again, WHAT THE....???? I would never go here again. I contemplated reporting them to the BBB, but I at least wanted to put it on Yelp to spare another person from this uncomfortable (and frankly humiliating) experience. read more

First off, let me say the massages here are amazing and the prices are super reasonable. $35 for a 60 minute combo foot and body massage?! Where else are you going to find that?? They're also very good at reading your body's tension and giving you the massage you need (this was my second time here). Both the masseurs I've had have been wonderful. I removed a star for the same reason as some of the other bad reviews--we started off with a Groupon for a couples massage, the lady asked us to cancel the Groupon and she would honor the price; then did not honor the price once we got into the salon, and gave us a long, rehearsed "we opened right before COVID" speech, and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one this bothered. That definitely felt scammy. That being said, it's only the one lady doing that (I think she's the owner?) and she wasn't there for my second massage so, and the rest of the staff are very professional, nice, and accommodating. I recommend giving the staff their tips directly in cash just in case. If anything were to drive me away it would be that, but the rest of the staff keep me coming back! read more

Glad to find a local massage place that gets everything and also takes card not just cash. They are just a little more expensive than competition and sometimes there's no one at the front desk so you have to call and wait but the massages themselves are great. If I could leave a 0 star review I would. I booked the $70 - 1 hour Swedish massage for my husband. He went in and told them he was there and the lady at the desk asked what pressure he wanted. He stated he likes a firm pressure and she told him he didn't want Swedish and would do better with a $100 deep tissue massage. He said he just wanted what was booked which was the $70 Swedish with a firm pressure. She again told him he didn't want that. He stated that's why we selected a man to do the massage to have a firmer pressure. She said she didn't have a guy masseuse and she would put 2 ladies in there to give a better massage experience. When he came out to pay he was told he had to pay $140! He questioned it and was told because he had to masseuses he had to pay $70 & $70. That is not what he asked for, booked or wanted. I wish I read reviews before booking because it sounds like this place is a rip of and a constantly doing things that people aren't asking for. I had a rather soothing experience for my first time visit. I was able to book my appointment online easily and I received a confirmation text and email pretty quickly. Once I arrived I was greeted By a couple and the massage I chose was the combo. I could tell immediately they knew what they doing and that this was the real deal. My wife and I went for a couple's massage and can't wait to go back. They were super friendly in every interaction I had with them, both scheduling and while we were there. The ambience and atmosphere were very well thought out and relaxing. The massage was fantastic. Great combination of relaxing, soothing touch with deep tissue therapy. And they did a great job of taking Covid seriously. We were greeted with an offering of hand sanitizer. Everyone was wearing masks throughout, and wearing good masks properly, which is hard to find. There were also two air purifiers running in the room the entire time. We will absolutely return. read more

Got a Groupon for my husband, they told us if we cancelled it, they'd honor the price of $50 that I paid for a combo massage. We arrived and I showed them the texts from their employee confirming that we would pay $50. But after seeing my husband, they insisted he needed a full body massage. We agreed because why not? Turns out they didn't tell us that the full body would change the price from $50 to $72. They didn't tell us about the price change until after the massage was over. I tipped $10 because I figured I had made a mistake, but after I realized what they'd done, I texted the employees later to explain my frustration. They refused to refund me ANY of my $82 total and insisted they told us the price but that maybe I wasn't "paying attention." It was extremely insulting when I came to them calmly after I had time to process what happened. I am infuriated with the employees and the fact that they felt they needed to scam me rather than just explain the pricing. I have worked in the customer service industry and I know it's a difficult job which is why I tried to be as calm and rational as possible. I am very upset with my experience at JJ's Spa. read more

While the massage was good, I cannot give this business more than 2 stars because of the pressure I got to leave a larger tip. At the end of my massage, the lady asked what I wanted to leave for a tip. When I told her $15, she pointed at the recommended tip amount sign and seemed to want me to give her $20 instead. I stayed with $15, but on my credit card statement, a $17 tip was charged. So I guess she took it upon herself to split the difference. I had a wonderful experience with Jj. I had originally planned to get a deep tissue massage but Jj asked where my problem areas are and recommended a different more specific massage. She did not disappoint. She worked and worked to get the knots out of my back and shoulders. I also added on the stone massage which was wonderful. Relaxing, calming, and friendly! My boyfriend and I went for a couples massage for a date night. We were both really impressed with how beautiful and relaxing the spa and room was. Jan was great with helping me schedule the appointment and when we arrived she was very helpful with the suggestions of which tissue massage would be best for each of our bodies. I'm not quite sure what is happening here but something is odd. I had been given a gift card for a couples massage as a gift for my engagement and in calling to book my appointment the woman immediately asked if it was a Groupon. I told her it wasn't. I tried to book ahead on a Saturday she said they didn't allow coupon customers to have appointments on weekends because they needed to make money to pay the rent. So I tried to book on a weekday, she tried to upsell me on paying more in cash for the massage to have it on a Saturday. We went back and forth for a really long time, to a point of arguing, me insisting I didn't want to pay more, I would just book a different day. Finally I get it booked, she asks if we want her to go and buy us wine (the wine is supposed to come with the massage) but at that point I worried we would be charged more if she went to buy anything so I kept saying no thank you, she said she would do it anyway. Finally it's the day before the massage, I went to bed early, wake up at 4am to a text sent close to 11pm that night asking us to switch the time of our massage. At that point I went to check reviews and noticed a weird "up charging scam" vibe in more than one review and it was the same experience I had. We just decided to cancel the appointment and not go. I'm bummed because it's possible it's not the actual masseurs and the owner is the one causing the issues but no part of my interaction felt like I would be able to relax. read more

My husband booked a Groupon here for my birthday, $95 dollars just so we could try it out. He received a phone call asking us to cancel the Groupon and they would honor the price. After 30 minutes trying to cancel, he succeeded and called to let them know. We show up for our appt, big sign on the wall saying the package we got was 120 so I'm like "Cool saved $10, whatever". Our package included champagne but we were immediately told "you want, drink, no you don't want drink" so I was like well I guess I don't want a drink, it's my birthday but obviously you don't want me to have one so I guess I'll pass, she looks at my husband who says he will take a water, she relies "Good boy"...he's a grown man, not a dog. We go upstairs after filing out the paperwork and I request MEDIUM pressure, a girl comes in and says hello and tells me to lay my face in the pillow thing and i immediately feel hands on my back, about 5 minutes into the massage, a male whispers in my ear "you ok". I don't care that I had a male at all but a bit of a heads up would be nice just so I know and can adjust properly or have a chance to decline (some women prefer female). That massage was the most painful thing I have ever had done, I asked multiple times for him to ease up, the next day you couldn't touch my shoulders, neck or lower back because they were so tender (NEVER had that happen before). Massage ends, exactly on time, no complaints there, we go back downstairs and are immediately confronted with a very persistent receptionist (same one who upcharged us) asking over and over if we like that place. We say yes and she takes us up pay. SHE CHARGED US $141 and then had the nerve to ask for a tip. We went from a $95 Groupon to $141.00 massage that was listed at $120 on the wall. There were others in the waiting room so we just stood there for a minute like WTF but didn't want to cause a scene...no shame in their game at all. She knew we were mad and THEN went on and on about how they opened right before COVID, they were struggling, needed to stay open, I needed to recommend them to all my friends. Amazing! The place is beautiful and relaxing. Jen And Jim renovated a old house in the downtown Brownsburg area. Historic charm with an Asian flare. Jen knew how to work my sciatic nerve and lower back issues. Chinese massage is very different than American. They focus on pressure points and use their entire body to help relieve tension and pain. My husband and I both have several back issues and we went to try out the couples massage. I got deep tissue and he got shiatsu. The hot stones are used to massage instead of other places where they just leave them on your back. It was so good I bought 8 more sessions for my husband and they were willing to give a discount for package deals. I used to go to expensive spas, and every vacation find a massage therapist. I was referred to JJ's massage from a friend who regularly goes here. I was not impressed. The website says there is a first time customer discount and I asked about it and they wouldn't apply the discount because it was a "holiday" being the day before Valentine's Day. They also asked how much I wanted to tip and I told them and they said that it wasn't enough. It was very rude and unprofessional in my opinion. The massage I booked was the Swedish massage and they charged me for the deep tissue. Overall, just not a good experience. I will never go back. The masseuse didn't look at my Groupon when I got there so she did the wrong massage. The 10-15 minutes of the massage was done through a blanket, weird. I had to ask for hot stones and instead of doing a normal hot stone massage she put a pile of hot rocks on my back through a towel. At the end I asked the lady at the front desk if she needs to see my Groupon. She looks at it and tells me that the masseuse gave me a "combo" massage instead of the one from the Groupon so now I need to pay an extra $20. I told her I didn't ask for anything different and she didn't ask me if I wanted something different. She said she knows but the masseuse did the wrong one so I need to pay $20 more. I told her I'm not comfortable paying more money for something I didn't ask for. She said "well we need money, it's just $20, you pay it." I said, it's not my fault she did the wrong thing, so I shouldn't have to pay extra. Then she starts speaking another language I didn't understand to some guy (maybe the owner) and they go back and forth for a few minutes. Found this spa on google and figured we'd give it a try for my daughters 12th birthday! Wow!!! Such a clean establishment, very friendly staff, and the inside of the spa was beautiful!!! My daughter and I got the "couples" massage with hot stones and it was heavenly! Best massage experience I've had!! I will be bringing my husband back ASAP!!
