Yes, we will be back! We had a delicious breakfast. Jalapeño homemade chorizo hash, homemade pancake and homemade rye bread. So many homemade choices, so yummy. I want to say it was a mom and son running the show that day and they were doing an excellent job. Super friendly, good people! I wish the best of luck to the new owners. I had one of the best breakfasts in a long time, and I didn't think it was too pricey for the work they put into it and the attention we got. Off the hook! Local beef cured locally. Wow! We stumbled upon this place on our way from Lassen to parts north. We shared the pastrami which I regret because it was way too good to share. I wish I would have tried a burger. Best pastrami I've ever had. Well maybe tied with Carnegie deli in NY cause I been there. Different. At JJs they have homemade rye bread. Seriously off the hook. We stopped in on our way home from Medford.. Beautiful Fall day in Oct. Small place with np doubt ALL locals but felt like we were home. The food was good with the home style feel. My family (husband, wife and two kids 5 & 2) have eaten at this place several times now. I have nothing but good to say about it. I think the food is very good. I've had the Rueben before as well as the pulled pork sandwich. We got hamburgers from this place. Everything is very well cooked and satisfying. I think the service is awesome. The last time We ate their individual I would assume is the owner gave my kids cookies for free. I would say the only downside is the size of the place. There's indoor and outdoor seating but both locations are slightly small. To me though, that's not a problem. Because the food and the service outweigh that by a lot. read more

We highly recommend Jj's Cafe! We had the best burgers ever. They use grass fed high quality beef. The burgers are juicy, with fresh produce, and the slightly toasted buns had to be homemade (forgot to ask). The Pastrami is smoked to perfection. Top notch service! read more

We stopped by this place on the way to Lassen NP. The staff is friendly and the food is yammy. We got Reuben, Italian grilled cheese and sweet grilled cheese. All of the sandwiches were delicious. Reuben had plenty of meat and sauerkraut. Sweet grilled cheese was a bit too sweet to my taste, but it says so on the menu - it is made with honey. If you are into sweet staff - it is definitely the one to get. My kid loved it. Italian grilled cheese had Italian dressing and tomatoes - tasted like a mix of a sandwich and pizza. All sandwiches are made with a good hardy bread, which was a big plus for us. read more

Best burgers around! This is a hidden gem or perhaps a lost gem because it is about 30 miles past the middle of nowhere. Cute friendly quick waitress so extra points for the service. It is right on the PCT - Pacific Crest Trail - so it was full of serious hikers. It gets a nod in Reese Witherspoon's movie "The Wild" which you really should see. read more

Been eating here every August for the last 8 years (except for 2014), we've heard there's new owners. The home-made breads and goodies are fantastic! Service was good. Huge portions, that make the prices acceptable. There was 7 of us, and we all thought the biscuits and gravy could be improved as the biscuits were kinda sweet and the gravy had too much pepper (like salt it's better to have too little, than too much). Our eggs were over cooked, and although the waitress offered to have them re-made, we didn't want to wait. The rest of the food was good. We'll definitely be going back. read more

We stayed at Hat Creek Resort and this place is right down the road about a mile. We had breakfast here. Best bisquits and gravy I have had in a long time. Portions are huge. We wanted to have dinner but they're only open Fri and Sat for dinner and they close at 7:30 pm. Great place to eat! Prices are reasonable. read more

I stopped in during an epic, long-distance bike trip. Lassen Park was closed due to fires and the whole valley surrounding Old Station was smoked out like a Three-6 Mafia concert. JJ's delivered the goods. The portions were incredibly generous, the waitress was very hospitable and friendly, the food tasted amazing and fresh (the bread was made in the bakery next door and the meat was house cured) and the blackberry pie a la mode was on point. They also had vegetarian options, which was important for my girlfriend. A very filling and tasty lunch and dessert for two was had at a very reasonable price. I hear the proprietors winter in Arizona so I think this place is only a summer spot. There's not much reason to be in Old Station during winter anyway. read more

WOW!!! We were just passing through town and happened on this place for lunch. This small place in the middle of nowhere was amazing. We had skipped breakfast so we were all rather hungry. The food was incredibly good and the portions were large. They bake their own bread, make their own soup and cure their own corned beef and smoke their own pastrami. We had pastrami sandwiches that were fabulous and my wife had a french dip that she could only eat half of. She said that the coleslaw (also home-made) was the best. The prices were reasonable too. We bought some sticky buns to take home and I can't wait to try them tomorrow. It's a husband and wife that own the place. She waited on us and he was in the kitchen. The place was very busy but the service was quite fast and friendly too. I wish that they were a lot closer to home so we could eat here often. read more
