Great beer selection on tap !! Had the pick three appetizer. They corn nuggets, pickles and fried green beans were excellently done and not at all greasy like sometime fried food can get. Waited almost an hour for two burgers that came with no condiments whatsoever was told they were separate like lettuce tomato normal stuff the bun was stiff and fell apart the waitress acted like I was an inconvenience to her when I asked to bring lettuce and tomato and I think people should be aware upfront that it's cash only. Very disappointed, ate here years ago and thought it was good, was in town for a track meet today. Pretzel bites were burnt, wife's sandwich was messed up, I had to go myself to another table to get my own ketchup, no refills on soda until right when we got the check, and on top of that cash was the only pay option. The food is terrible. I love that they carry Oogie's jack sticks, but every time I order them, the cheese has come out of the sticks from being in the fryer too long. You're better off going to Berta's for the jack sticks - they are always perfect. The place is loud - don't come here to catch up with friends. The drinks are drinks. Fine, and decently priced. If you only carry plastic this place is not for you, however they do have a ATM on location. I have been here on some brief occasions through out the years, if it was closer to my house I would stop in more frequently, the food is good quality and they have a full kitchen, an upstairs banquet room, and a large selection of drinks. I have even been able to order some specialty drinks and the bartenders have been very accommodating. There is nothing note worthy that makes JJ's jump off the page & non acceptance of credit cards can be a bit of a turn off. read more

I agree with a poster below, if you're just drinking its a cool place with decent specials, but food wise you're better off going to McDonalds. We went here for dinner on a Friday night, and ordered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. They came out and were sort of burnt and the cheese was coming out the sides. They had been in the fryer too long. Didn't bother to send back. I had a burger and fries - the burger wasn't anything memorable but tasted ok. The fries were crispy but you could tell the grease was old because they had a funny gross taste. My husband had a chicken wrap which was the same as the burger - ok but forgettable. I will say the waitress was very good - fast and attentive. The place was clean too which was a plus. Probably wouldn't eat here again. Also, they do NOT accept credit/debit cards. read more

Went here with my boyfriend for lunch with high hopes but left feeling a bit unsatisfied. The moment we walked in a tall skinny woman very rudely told us to sit wherever. We sat down and another waitress took our drink order and then immediately sat with a group of what I assume was regulars. None of which were wearing masks. She completely forgot about us so the the bartender took over. I will say the bartender was very nice and quick to help us. The food wasn't horrible but my burger did come on a cold bun which I didn't like. I feel like the only people to get "great" service are the regulars forget about feeling welcome here if you don't frequent this place. Came in from the Chicago area for the wine fest and were looking for a place to get a sandwich before the tasting. This was the first place we saw and decided to give it a try (the patrons sitting outside looked happy with their food). We were not disappointed. The service was friendly and we all enjoyed our sandwiches. I had the breaded pork tenderloin. It was crispy and nicely seasoned. Paying extra for the house chips was worth it. We also had the Rueben, the buffalo chicken sandwich and the Italian beef between us. All were very good. If in the area (which is likely because we had a great time at the wine fest) we will go back. read more

Was in here with my uncle yesterday on our motorcycle trip. Overall it was a decent lunch that we had. And they have some great beers on draft for some great breweries like Bell's and Leini's for example. Had the tenderloin sandwich and thought it was decent. If I could this review would probably be closer to 3.5 if I could have given .5 star but instead will raise it to 4. As I'll agree with the other poster our bartender/server was very nice. Now, very important note. Despite what the listing says, they DO NOT take credit cards just so you know. They only take cash, but do note there is an ATM located right in the building. Stopped for a light lunch. Good selection of beers on tap. The bartender was filling in for a friend and was pretty clueless about a lot of things, but he was more than willing to explain that and he did know how to pour a Guiness. This is the bar for the younger crowd. This is where you will find the younger people on the weekends and it gets really packed. Ottawa is a small tight knit crowd so pretty much everyone here knows of each other and if you are not a part of that community they will know it. I am not saying you won't be welcomed in but you will be noticed as not one of their own. That said this is still a lively bar and if you get there early enough you can get a seat and enjoy yourself. I can't say there is anything special about this bar but I also can not say there is anything really bad about this bar either. read more

When I visited the waitress pretty much partied with her friends but I got a beer when I wanted one. Only ral complaint is the stupid CASH ONLY policy. Definitely not going back! Ordered an appetizer with a variety of fried foods. It came burnt but when my friends ate the mushrooms they were still frozen inside. The waitress did replace the order when I said the mushrooms were frozen. Only good part of the time there. Three hamburgers were ordered and all three were burnt on one side, hot dog and philly cheese were not very good and the one order of a grilled cheeses sandwich came 5 minutes after all the other orders were received. I had to ask twice for the tomatoe and lettuce for my burger and the buns for all orders were not very good. We decided Jimmy Johns will be better choice next time!! read more

Stopped last Sunday after riding by many times on our motorcycles to check it out. The Pro..cold beer. The Cons sticky table..they said due to coating on the top, new cook in training..overcooked and saturated onion rings, burger mix up ..good waitress should know the difference between quarter and half pound burger and not try to pass it off when order goes to another table. No credit cards ...glad we over heard and had cash....don't care for the independent atms that charge high fees. The homemade chips were good but the philly cheese steak onions and green peppers were black...had to pick it apart to eat..oh yeah..cook in training I forgot! Lastly they bring your check and tell you to go to the bar and pay, place was empty and had to stand and wait while to be acknowledged while the presumed owner or manager sat there clueless munching his salad. Waste of time and money and won't be bringing the group back we ride with....a shame because it could be a nice place. read more
