I had to call the restaurant to report a issue with my order, which I asked for my chicken fried rice to come without eggs or vegetables, which I've done plenty of times with this company. However, the woman I spoke with said, "no, that next time you should call it in if you want a "special instruction", even though it is on the website that you can make special instructions,. The woman didn't apologize and yelled saying "There's nothing that I could do and it your fault for the meal coming the way it did." This woman was very RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. Love JJ China!! We originally came across this restaurant years ago because we were trying to find a Chinese restaurant that was open on Sundays. I'm sure glad we found JJ China and tried them out. They have been our go to ever since! You can order online (and include special instructions), in the drive thru, or go inside. They are very reasonably priced. And the food is delicious!! I love their shrimp Mei fun, one of my kids loves their orange chicken, and my hubby and other kid loves their chicken fried rice. You can customize any dish, AND they are sensitive to my family's food allergies. They even made sure to tell me they do not make their egg rolls in house so they cannot guarantee no allergens with those. I very much appreciated that! We have never eaten inside the restaurant, but you sure can. It's a quaint space with pictures of the food. Highly recommend!! read more

Got take out here the other night... the rice was great, but the generalz chicken was over-fried and hard. It was my first time there and clearly my last. I couldn't believe how many people were in line there for overcooked food. Perhaps i was the only one that poorly cooked food. Not taking a chance again though. JJ China is my go to in West Omaha. The owner always recognizes me and is so friendly. I highly recommend the Szechuan Shrimp (or pork) and hot and sour soup! Their chow mei fun, sweet and sour shrimp, and lo mein are great as well. read more

Quite possibly the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Went at 1.30pm so there was no crowd. Server/I'm assuming owner, was not friendly and made it seem like we were bothering her. We both got a lunch special, served with a meal, and choice of 2 sides. I opted for Hunan beef with egg drop soup and a crab Rangoon. Soup was tasteless, like I imagine raw scrambled eggs would taste. Hunan beef was comparably horrible, again tasteless with a watery sauce, broccoli soggy, and meat had a weird rubbery texture. She never came back to check on us until the end. She asked if we wanted to go boxes, and I replied that I didn't like any of it. She seemed very unconcerned about that, and shrugged her shoulders. Aside from that, the water tasted like it'd been drawn from an old abandoned well, and apparently she was also running a daycare there, due to the children's play center, and the presence of 3 noisy kids. There was also a sign in the bathroom which I found VERY strange. I'm not sure how this place is even open. read more

While distancing, we've been trying new places. I'm an Egg Foo Young fan, and it can be hard to find in general. Then, it can be hard to find it made well. I ordered it twice in the past week, w the shrimp option. The shrimp are HUGE and I loved the texture and flavor of the EFY each time. So happy I have a go-to option now. My husband order the YumYum Chicken which he thought was ok, but he really loved the General Tso - he'll be ordering that again soon! Each time we also thought the Crab Rangoons were very week made. First we were stuck in the drive thru for 30 minutes. After 15 minutes of sitting at the window a woman came to the window and didn't know if we were driving thru or there to pick up an order. It definitely wasn't worth the wait. The sweet and sour chicken was decent but the Moo goo gai pan was disgusting. The chicken tasted like it had been microwaved more than once and had an extremely nasty flavor so we didn't eat any of the chicken just the veggies. Definitely the first place I think of when I want Chinese food! Great location, plenty of parking and IT HAS A DRIVE-THRU!!! You can order ahead of time for take-away or pull-up to the drive-through and order there. I usually order a lot, but regardless of the order - they ALWAYS get it correct, it's super quick and incredibly delicious every time! Poor service, felt like I was on Seinfeld "No!soup for you!!" I am on crusade to find the best lo mein in Omaha and so far this is the worst the worst I have ever eaten. It has a pungent smell to it. This place is the definition of authentic Chinese! My two friends and I got food there the other day and dined in and I thought that it was very wholesome and comfortable. Yes, the children are watching TV on the other half of the dining room, but putting into perspective of the parents... i understand it, they weren't being obnoxious. paper plates and plastic ware aren't an issue, it's easier on them and it's not hurting the customers at all. i don't see the issue other reviewers have. I can't believe how many times I drove right by this place, never giving it a try. No longer! I am HOOKED on their JJ Walnut Shrimp, but also love the fresh creamy crab rangoon. We haven't had a bad entree, and appreciate the price point and convenience of the drive thru. Fast delivery! Huge portions, and fantastically cooked tofu! I suggest getting the tofu if you are vegan! It was cooked great! I thought the dish was a little to saucy, but I also didn't have any rice to soak it up cause the dishes were delivered with Fried Rice... Not vegan so if you want steamed rice you should definitely specify! But the meal was super big so I was not to bummed about it! Again very fast delivery and wonderfully cooked tofu.. We tried this Chinese place because I heard they delivered to my area. It was decent Chinese and huge portions. I ordered a small chicken fried rice and it was a huge container packed full for $5.25. The large lo main was in a even bigger container for $7ish. This is enough food for 3 or 4 meals. The crab ragoons come in a triangle shape but are good. The delivery was fast and accurate. The "Crispy" Chicken should be renamed Soggy Chicken because apparently you need to specify you want the sauce kept separate for the trip home in order for the chicken to be crispy. This was found out with a phone call once home to find a mushy mess. My suggestion to ask that question during the ordering was met with confusion. JJ China...more like Yay Yay China! AMIRIGHT?! It's so nice to finally have a good Chinese/Japanese joint near where I live. I heart Tokyo Kitchen, but that can be quite a drive for one who lives nearer to Gretna. JJ China has soooooooooooo many advantages. They're food is awesome, the food is prepared quickly, and the place is clean. Best of all, they have a drive-thru, so if I feel like being a real 'Murican too lazy to get out of my car and waddle the five feet from the parking lot, I can do so! I go here so often it's not even funny. I can honestly see my gut slowly increase as days go by... (I have yet to actually eat inside, but maybe I will someday. I love their Ipod dock.) Okay, the lo mein is my favorite. 4.99 for a small order, which is more than enough for a person. And, unlike most places, it's the same price rather you choose vegi, chicken, shrimp, pork, beef...or combo! The rest of the dishes I have had are yummy as well. Yum-yum chicken is, well...you know. The orange chicken is actually a bit spicy, which in itself is enough to make me a fan of the place. During lunch hours (from 11-3 everyday) you get a crab ragoon with every order. I give those to my wife since I don't like them, but she says they're good. The egg roll is the only weak point, in my opinion. They're decent, but a bit on the small side and not quite as 'savory' as some other restaurants' offerings. read more

This place is not too obvious. When we've been here it's clean and quiet. The drive thru can be challenging cause there's so much to choose from. This is not fast food. It is priced very reasonable and cooked to perfection. It doesn't really matter what you choose..every thing is great. The crab Rangoon is spectacular. The portions are sized generously and the more you order...you get additional food items included. read more
