I can't give 0 or even half a so here it is. Jitters requires a 24 notice on bulk orders, we ordered 3 dozen and called the order in within the parameters required and said we'd be there at 9 a.m. Sunday to pick them up. We get to Jitters at exactly 9 a.m. and told our order is not ready yet. Hmm, ok. We figured maybe they just needed to be boxed up, nope! They had just started making them!!!! Numerous customers cam in to get donuts while we waited to be told it'll be 30 minutes on just 6 donut all the way down to 5 on a single donut. As they made ours, a man came in and had ordered a dozen, they told him it'll be a while and he go upset, they gave him one of OUR dozen donuts!!! While we waited, I wanted to order and iced coffee, sorry we're out of ice! A little while later, a lady came in and ordered an iced coffee, guess what?? They was ice!!! Needless to say, it's kinda hard to mess up making donuts especially when you just put the batter into a machine and it does a the work for you. The donuts were of course good. The owner was even at the shop, in the kitchen the whole 32 minutes we waited for our order that was called in a day in advance and she didn't even set foot outside the kitchen to help her employees. Pretty disappointed, pretty disappointed!!!! read more

This review is based solely on the cake doughnuts. And...O. M. G. Not supper heavy and dense like a normal cake style doughnut and not too airy like a Krispy Kreme product. If those two types were to mate and have a child...their gene pool would be a perfect 50/50 blend called a Jitters doughnut. That's just the flesh. The icing is to die for...slightly sweet with overtones of maple and/or coffee. I'm not a dessert fan or even do carbs in the AM but theses treats are worth the guilt! read more

I got an almond milk latte. It tasted dusty, which is usually a sign that something has gone rancid or is past expiration. I took one sip and had to throw it away. We got a Chicken Verona sandwich that's supposed to come with a pesto sauce. When we got it it had some creamy mayonnaise looking sauce instead. My partner brought it up asking what the sauce was and confirming it was meant to come with the pesto sauce. After the interaction I found out it was the owner my partner was actually talking to which is unfortunate because she was incredibly rude. When he asked very politely to have the sandwich remade with the pesto sauce, she pulled this utterly irritated face and just said, "Okaaaay" then turned her back to him and walked away. No "We're sorry that was our mistake" or "Oh whoops let me fix that for you." My partner sat back down and I asked the other woman at the counter, "The menu says that sandwich comes with a pesto sauce, is that right?" She said "Oh yes, that must have just been our mistake." So I said okay I just wanted to make sure because she seemed very perturbed that he wanted his sandwich remade. She just said "oh yes that's how it's supposed to come." When the owner brought out the sandwich remade this time with the right sauce, she still didn't apologize and the sandwich was a mess! There was three times as much chicken scattered around the plate than was actually between the slices of bread! So long story short, my drink was terrible, my tuna wrap was mediocre at best, and the owner herself was incredibly rude and treated us like we were such a hassle because THEY made a mistake. A simple, "I'm sorry, let me fix that for you" would have been spectacular, but apparently even that incredibly basic customer service was beyond her. I'm very disappointed because I was excited to find a nice little cafe to support while I'm in the area. However, after this service I'll never return. read more

The donuts are good and they have a variety of various breakfast and lunch options. Unfortunately the establishment is so full of smog it's unbearable being in there. Their exhaust is pretty much non existent. There is literally a cloud inside when you walk in. It's nauseating to have to breath it and we all walked out of the place smelling and feeling terrible. The greasy food scent gets stuck on your clothes and hair and it's disgusting and embarrassing to have to walk into meetings smelling like that. To me that's not worth going in for a cup of coffee or bite to eat when there are other options around town. read more

The donuts are great, but service is lackluster. Came this morning to get donuts, and there was only one left. The lady said bluntly there was only one left. It did not make me want to come back another day. I'm sure I will but not in the near future. Its one thing to be out of your signature product, its another thing to be unfriendly and unapologetic. read more

Great atmosphere, and absolutley delightful staff. Fresh coffee and donuts were absolutely delicious, and affordable too!

Worst latte I have ever had. The temp right away was lukewarm at best. The coffee to milk ratio had to be way off could barely taste the coffee. So in Essence I had a latte that tasted like vanilla flavored milk that had been sitting on a counter for a couple hours. Seek coffee elsewhere. read more

Some of the best donuts in Sioux City. Good drinks and helpful staff.

My children grew up with "sunshine" donuts as well as my husband and his brothers. They were the best. Now whenever anyone is back in town they can take a trip to the past thanks to Jitters. Not only are the donuts the best the staff and ambiance of the establishment make the experience fabulous every time. Thanks Jitters!!!! read more

Googld great donut places in Sioux City and this popped up. Its claim to fame is that it has the Sunshine grocery store's donut machine. I grew up with Sunshine and remember fondly sitting at donut counter eating a wonderful cake donut. So of course I drove across town to get donuts. And coffee. The reviews all said Jitters has great coffee. It does! Great coffee. But, back to donuts. I didn't like that the donuts weren't displayed better for being the main attraction. I thought they would be a focal point, but they are off to side, in a case and the donuts are on the bottom of this case, floor level. I was expecting bakery cases that displayed donuts. But, these are Sunshine donuts damn it so I will order some. I picked up three- chocolate, vanilla, and caramel. Not going to lie. My experience with cake donuts, even as a kid has been they are cooled completely before serving and they icing is cold on top. Cake. But today I got three very warm donuts that had all the icing melted so when they were put in the to-go box I ended up with a big melty mess of icing and super wet donuts. (Condensation) My donut container was filled with condensation. I was not happy. This was not my Sunshine experience. Mushy, wet donuts. Also, for being a tiny, hip coffee joint named Jitters, you'd think folks would say hello when you walked in. But the staff was quiet and calm. When I was checking out, two employees weren't sure what to do. No apologies either. Just calm. Too calm for a place called Jitters. Three donuts and a large coffee...mental math folks. Like I said coffee is very good, a bit pricey but good. I will try this place again and specifically ask for donuts that have cooled completely. Not day-old, but perhaps two-hour old. read more

Came in to get donuts and was rudely told that it would be a HALF HOUR wait for even one. Completely outrageous when at least 3 dozen are sitting out on a Saturday morning at 10:00. No apology and no interest in trying to rectify the situation. Disappointing... That's okay, we found Sprinkles Donuts by Sugar Shack and it was great! read more

I placed my order on saturday around 11am for 6 doz donuts to be picked up today Sunday at 9am. Got there a few minutes after 9, and they weren't ready. We ended up waiting over 30 minutes for them. My friend wanted to order an iced coffee but was rudely told there was no more ice. 5 minutes later, a lady ordered an iced drink and got hers. The staff did NOT apologize for the wait. They were completely out of donuts by 9:10 when they had just opened at 8. The staff was rude to following customers. The gentleman making the donuts was very sweaty and semi dirty looking. The table we sat at to wait for our donuts had a piece of glass over the tablecloth that didn't even reach to the edges of the table. The owner stayed in the back seeming to try to look busy and didn't come out to apologize for the wait to anyone, check on orders, nothing. read more

Donuts are awesome. I just wish they wouldn't run out of donuts before 10AM. Make more! The demand is there!! They REALLY need to work on their coffee game. They were confused when I asked for a latte without any flavoring, and even more confused when my husband asked for just a shot of espresso. read more

Great place for coffee and donuts...DONUTS! The best around and maybe best I have had...ever. 2 locations and same quality at both...get there early if you want a good selection as the donuts sell quickly. read more

wonderful little place, i have had little luck in the coffee shop department since i moved here but this one is definitely a winner.

If you're looking for unbeatable cake donuts jitters is the right place. I have never been disappointed and the heritage behind the donuts is just as awesome. They even use the donut machine from the old Sunshine grocery store and the recipe they had to chase down from the original baker ! A must stop! read more

Adorable place! Horrible service. I have had 6+ years in customer service and I have never been more disappointed. The young girls who took our orders were rude and snotty. I asked a question and she replied with an answer that made me feel belittled. The donuts and food were great, the latte I ordered tasted like cold milk. I will not be coming back and I will not be referring anyone here! Teach your employees respect and teach them how to smile and you might have happier customers. read more

The doughnuts are good but the staff was very rude. Young girl packaging our doughnuts was rude and her long hair was hanging in the container of doughnuts. She was not happy when we asked her if she could keep her hair from touching the doughnuts! We told the cashier we would be going elsewhere for doughnuts from now on she added her own rude comments to us! The owner has always been pleasant enough and that's why I'm posting this - hopefully she can teach the two employees about customer service. read more

Best coffee shop in town. Try the breakfast wraps! Oh, and you can't forget to get a donut (or dozen) before you leave. If you buy day-olds, they freeze up nice too! read more

I've given Jitters a chance at each of their locations to see if their business sense improved with time. Unfortunately, it has not. When you don't recognize that the donuts are the money-makers for your business, you will lose out. I've been there and they didn't have any donuts ready at all. I've been there and they said, "sorry, we're out of donuts for today." I've been there and the owner tried to charge me full price for a half dozen donuts when she only had 5 donuts to sell me. Yes, it was the owner. The last and final time I will go there was today. There were about 15 people waiting in line for donuts. They had one girl doing the cash register who was slower than molasses. There was ONE man baking all the donuts, frosting them, and putting toppings on them. There was ONE man taking all the orders and fulfilling them. The donut case was empty, the baking racks were empty, they were working in a crammed corner trying unsuccessfully to make donuts in a timely manner. Then, to top it off, there were 3-4 other workers doing NOTHING to help out with the donut orders. They were doing dishes, preparing for lunch--it was only 9:45 in the morning! There was no sense of urgency to step in and help with the donut orders and the people who were waiting 20 minutes or more to get a donut! The donuts are good, but the service was TERRIBLE and not worth my time to wait a half an hour for an $.85 donut! Here is some helpful advice if you want to keep your customers doing business with you...1. Recognize that people want your donuts! This is why people come to your store! 2. If you are in business to make money, realize that selling a dozen donuts for $8 a dozen is going to make you more profit than selling one or two lunch items. Many people want two or more dozen and that is $16 right there! 3. Show some sense and help out the donut workers even if that's not "your job"--I saw more than one person walk out because it was taking too long for everything! 4. Invest in more donuts machines and use more of your space for donut preparation! There are too many empty tables taking up space where you could be preparing more donuts in a timely fashion. 5. PREPARE MORE DONUTS AHEAD OF TIME! You should have HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of donuts ready to go before you even open your doors for business! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize these things. I hope the owner has an epiphany and does something to remedy this situation. But maybe she doesn't really care about making money. Who knows. My business will be going elsewhere from now on. And by the way, anyone who wants to make money in Sioux City and likes to make sunshine donuts--you can make a killing if you have enough donuts prepared, offer them at a fair price, and can serve people quickly!! read more
