The staff they had at the convention were all super-cool people. They served great drinks. I haven't seen their drink menu, so I just said a few words about what I like, and they mixed up good stuff -- at reduced alcohol per my request. Perfect! Best of all, they had the acclaimed science fiction and fantasy author Mary Robinette Kowal as their special guest. (But she lives in North Carolina, so don't expect her as a regular in the Pittsburgh location.) Space Bar is obviously LGBT+ friendly, but it's an everyone bar. OK, maybe not everyone: it will be more fun if you're interested in science fiction and fantasy, and don't upset the vibe. I'll be sure to visit the in-person location next time I'm in Pittsburgh.

The bar is a pretty narrow space and gets packed pretty quickly, but it is a great space to watch sports and chat with people. There is not a lot of seating space as the space is relatively small, but it is still comfortable while standing. Although crowded, the bartenders are quick and efficient with drink orders. If only they sold food, this spot would be perfect. However, there are several shops and restaurants along the strip to grab a bite to eat. He undramatically said it was okay. I had the kielbasa and pierogie dish. Again, just okay. Last companion had the salmon which she asked for with sauce on the side. It came drenched in sauce. And that was the high point as it became an ongoing concern with four pinbones pulled from the fish. So, here's the confusing part: supposedly they comp'd the salmon, yet the check was $91 for a cheesesteak, pierogies, one beer and one specialty drink. (Check my reviews, I never complain about price. I just don't get this one.) Service was spectacular at the table as the server was embarrassed by the issues with the salmon and tried to overcompensate. All in all, meh.
