More important than the storybook plating and the flare, the food screams of excellent sourcing. Marvol's trout belly and roe, Kendall's greens, Wisconsin sweet corn and crab. Whereas Ellinor caters to the many with mainstays and midwestern must-haves (red meat, burger, pizza with pork in it), Marvol feels like a small test kitchen full of new ideas. They had good flavor and were priced correctly, but they just didn't stand out. I didn't get to snap any pictures since I was out with customers, but I don't know that I would've anyway. We came here at 730 on a Sunday. Maybe a dozen people. We ordered burgers with fries and some mozzarella sticks. Noticed that the man at the grill was busy shaking dice and having a good time with 4 guys at the bar. 2 to go orders were picked up and I had my boyfriend go up and see if they started our food. He had not. We waited to 30 minutes and nothing. Very disappointed and upset. We paid for our Bloody Mary and a soda and left. Customer service was very poor tonight and nothing after 30 minutes. Nope. No thanks WN. I'll go somewhere else.
