They had me at Sauce as who doesn't love some saucy goodness! So this seems like it's a total locals dog spot as it just seemed as if we were the outsiders coming here as Jim's is right in the middle of a neighborhood on top of a hill wayyy off the beaten path so if you really don't have a reason to come over here then you probably wouldn't even know it's here, coming here for us worked out because it's only a few minutes away from Kennywood and that's what's totally good too! Of the delicious saucy dog options I went with cheese, sauce, pickles, & onions and let me say it really was yummy like their sauce is very unique and something that I've never really tried anywhere else before like the taste is something that I really can't describe so I'll just say that it was yummy and pared well on the hotdog with all the other components. One of the real kickers though was that cheese it was melty and just awesome like that hotdog all together really was yummy it left both of us saying what's in that sauce! The fries however were pretty terrible to say the least they might have been better with cheese and sauce so that's definitely something to consider when coming here! Overall this is a small little locals place that's putting out some yummy sauce and some delicious hotdogs so if your in the area and want something fast definitely check it out!

I just recently made a trip to Jim's famous sauce. I was working in the area and decided to see if the hype was real. Let me tell you with confidence that this was the greatest hot dog I've ever had in my whole life. And the secret is definitely in the famous sauce. I also got some fries and gravy and they were very good as well. The hot dog sauce is different than the gravy and I couldn't get enough of that secret famous sauce. We will be back for sure and if I were you I would try to make it over because it's worth the drive.

Honestly, been to Jim's multiple times and every time it never disappoints. Recommend to everyone to at least try it. Great atmosphere. The employees are always very nice and the food is always great.

Outstanding Dogs--natural casing dogs, special sauce and real cheese!

The Best Hot Dogs--they have been doing it right since 1927!! They also sell Hamburgers, Ham Barbecue and Shakes.

I'm not being sarcastic when I say that this is the best restaurant in Pittsburgh. If you've never been, you have to get cheese dog with sauce and onions or else you're doing this wrong. You could tell me that you hate every single one of those ingredients and I don't care you need to try it as it is meant to be eaten. The staff there. They write nothing down. It's like a point of pride that it's all in their heads. And I've never seen them get an order wrong. Sometimes it takes a few minutes because they broil everything after your order. Be patient. PERFECTION TAKES TIME. If I could be the Duchess at Jim's, that would be a good day. I aspire to be a regular here, which is pretty hard to do from 1,000+ miles away. I also sometimes do the sausage with sauerkraut. But seriously...say it with me people, "CHEESE DOG WITH SAUCE AND ONIONS." It is the one food I have to have if I'm in Pittsburgh.

Best dogs this side of the three rivers!

My crazy boss goes on tangents sometimes, anything from politics, religion, to food. The only time I really listen is when he talks about food. Man, was he spot on about Jim's. "Oh, Eryn, do you like hot dogs?" He says in his silly accent. Uhh, duh. "You've gotta try Jim's". I'm so glad he told me about this awesome little spot. Out with the gang on a Wednesday before work, we stopped at Jim's and I got what my date was getting, sauce and cheese. (The crazy boss suggested onion and pepper, but I work in close proximity to other humans, and I prefer to not offend them.) Everything my boss described was spot on. The sauce (to me) was like a weird Arby's sauce, but so much better. The dog was done well and the cheese was just a little bit burned. Good addition. I am hooked. Hopefully I'll be back again this summer to try something different! Happy Eating!

I hate hotdogs. Their taste is abhorrent! The sauce is so different from when I was a teen. I'm 70 now.

One of the best hot dog place. Many choices of condiments, famous for their sauce. They toast the buns.

Good menu selection including the Turkey Bacon Club, and the Hot Roast Beef Sandwiches are my favorites . Bartenders are very friendly and accommodating. No interest in midday drinking, we decided to pop around back into the little casual cafe (the bar area is out front). The tiny space has a handful of booths, a table, and 4 bar stools. It's not much to look at - no decorations, low ceiling tiles, and just super plain. But the place appeared clean, and the staff is so nice and attentive. I'd give them 4 stars for that! The food is a bit better than standard bar food. I ordered a fried chicken salad. The iceberg lettuce (ugh) was accompanied by a handful of cucumber slices, banana pepper rings, red onion, some cheese, and what I think was boneless, sliced chicken fingers. I opted against having fries in my salad. I also picked off the handful of cherry tomatoes. The dressing - balsamic vinaigrette- was good. My husband enjoyed his club sandwich on rye with American cheese. Apologies - forgot to take food pics!

The person taking our order acted confused when we asked for the sundae, used terms that weren't listed on menu anywhere. The sundae ended up being pretty weird and had a tiny funnel cake, vanilla soft serve, and strawberry topping for some reason? They asked if we wanted whipped cream and nuts, which were whole peanuts. No cherry :( The mango flavor was not my jam, just super artificial and watery tasting. Threw out most of it and even my ice cream loving toddler wouldn't eat it That's on Dole though, not Dells! The portions were small for the price and disappointing compared to other ice cream places nearby. Definitely expected more ice cream on a 6.50 specialty sundae. The parking lot has some very run down tables in the back that have a very lovely view of the cemetery. The service seemed slow given the number of people who were working, maybe they were in training or something, not sure. Overall, this was one of the more disappointing ice cream experiences I've had - I won't be returning when there are so many superior options within a few minutes drive.

We ordered a cheeseburger, fries, soda, & a kid's meal (which comes with fries & a soda). They brought my soda to the table, but not the soda for the kid's meal. Then we sat and waited for our food. And waited. And waited. There were SO many people behind the counter (top count was 17) but only about 4 were actually doing anything. I sat & watched two different people drinking sodas (or whatever were in their cups) and others leaning on the prep counters. Not something you want to see people doing where your food's being prepared! Not sure why, with that many people, it took fifteen minutes to get a cheeseburger and chicken nuggets. It wasn't busy. When we finally got our food, it wasn't hot. You'd think since we waited so long that it would be freshly cooked, so it would be hot. Nope. The burger patties must be cooked ahead of time. And it shows. And all that's after paying $28 for a cheeseburger, order of fries, soda, and a kid's meal. It's pretty sad when you could get the same meal at Walt Disney World for about $5 less!

My niece got the chicken tenders. They were crispy and perfect, definitely not the frozen to microwave kind. She also got the pink lemonade which was refreshing and flavorful. We definitely enjoyed it. Just wish more of the menu was included in the meal plan.
