Placed orders for delivery 2 weeks in a row for delivery. First week's order was suppose to be a wrap but came in a roll. Second week's order was suppose to be chicken salad wrap but received corn beef. When I called I was told a refund would be issued through their delivery service. No refund has been issued 19 days later. Called again and was told I needed to take it up with the delivery service. I asked just to have the 2 sandwiches delivered and I was told no. John remembers names, orders, and the staff is always welcoming. My sandwiches are always massively packed and the prices are just right. Even if I don't want food I'll stop in to get coffee. We have only been to this deli twice since moving here, and both times the woman behind the counter was very nasty and rude to my dad. The first time, it was early in the morning so we thought we would give them the benefit of the doubt. People have bad days, she could have been having a rough morning. But this is the second time she has done this specifically to my dad, who is a dark skinned Spanish man (also a retired NYPD detective). He went in for 2 egg sandwiches, which come with a free orange juice or small coffee. My mom was waiting outside in the car, so my dad placed his order, made a coffee for my mom, brought it out to her, and came back. The lady at the counter asked my dad if there was anything else she could get for him- my dad said he would like an orange juice, and he made a small coffee and had brought it out to my mom in the car. She scoffed and said " huh, I should try that sometime. Maybe I'll go to Macys, take a bag of clothes, bring it out to my car without them knowing, then go back in and tell them!!!" Sorry, but what she just described was theft. My dad brought out a small coffee that was FREE with the egg sandwiches that he purchased. Even the other patrons in the deli were shocked by her attitude towards him. Since this is the second time this has happened to him, it is obvious there is a racial bias towards us. Bacon, egg and cheddar breakfast sandwich is my favorite. Delicious and they don't skimp on the bacon. Also love the Hungryman, and the home fries are very good. My favorite lunch specials are the Montecristo hero (I get with extra onion and Russian dressing), and the occasionally offered hot special, Philly cheesesteak on a hero. Again, they don't skimp on what is between the rolls. A little pricey, but everything is getting more expensive as gas prices rise in this economy. Also, when offered, the BEST Penn Dutch potato salad anywhere!!! Don't agree with someone else's comment about the regular potato salad, macaroni salad, and cole slaw being too vinegary...I think they are as good as it gets...and I hope they never change their recipes for any of them! I'm also told the heroes are excellent as well, but I can't speak from experience. Downfalls: -Cash only -The prices. A little high. Three breakfast sandwiches and a can of Starbuck's came to $17. Ice was $2.50 for an average size bag (maybe 5 or 7 lbs.), and a 6 pack of Blue Point was $10.99. Blue Point is LOCAL. For a second, I thought I was paying for imports. Since they don't take credit cards and are therefore not paying credit card transaction fees, they should really lower their prices. -Weak coffee, but at least it's "free" with the purchase of a breakfast sandwich. From the road it seems like a simple deli, but "Jim's Deli" has a lot of history between those four walls. Heading there was a treat, a lot of open space and beautiful scenery I enjoy driving past the lake where you can rent Canoes. Once at the deli, they offered plenty of parking for its size. It was busy there, that was surprising, because it's a bit out of the way. I see the locals must really support this business. That's understandable, because it's been there since 1957! It only has 3 owners, and the staff is super friendly. Inside seemed a bit dated, it definitely would be a candidate for renovations and seating, because it was cold and i wanted to sit and eat. The two at the counter, a gentleman and lady, were the best. They joked and seemed interested in talking about the history of the deli. The lady offered us a free orange juice with our meal. Once the food came out they gave plenty of napkins and we scurried to my car. Looking at the food I was amazed with how well it was put together, the wrap could have been bigger, but it would do. After eating it I saw why they had so much local support. It was good. I liked it. They could have added more cheese, but it was still worth it. With the history and friendly service "Jim's Deli" offers, I hope there here for years to come. read more

Definitely better than the competing deli next door (which I refuse to go to for various reason). The food is always good and quick service. Happy they have açaí bowls, they aren't the best I've had but still good. But... there are a couple of downsides in my opinion. The macaroni and potato salads and coleslaw have a LOT of vinegar in them. It's overpowering. Makes my mouth pucker up and not in a good way. And the prices on some of the items, specifically breakfast items, are a lot more expensive than other great delis I've eaten at. $6.99 for a typical bacon, egg and cheese on a roll. I've seen the same sandwich for $3.99-$4.99 at good delis. Hungry man is like $9.99! Crazy. $6.99 at most other places and quality is the same. However, I can count on Jim's for a relatively inexpensive chopped salad with up to 8 included toppings! They don't skimp on the salads or toppings and they are legit. Their food looks and tastes fresh, it's packaged neatly and they are generous with their condiments.
