I wanted to add my 5-star+ review for Thompson's. Our fridge broke down on a Sat. We lost SO much food during the night! We called another company with "six locations and a coupon" who said they could fix it "Tuesday". On Monday, they called and pushed that back to Thursday. Their voice mail said if we didn't call them to confirm this, they wouldn't come out, even then. That's when I found Thompson's. I called at 10am. Got a call back within 15 mins tops. The tech was here less than four hours later. He knew the problem right away. Had the exact part and we were off and running less than one hour later. He really knew his stuff. Thanks Dave! As an FYI, be sure to call their number on their Yelp page and not the service number on their website. I know that whenever they can, they will take care of your appliance repair the same, business day. We are SO happy with Thompson's and would recommend them to anyone. All our appliances are getting "up in years", so I have a feeling we'll be calling them again soon. Their prices are fair and quoted up front. There are no "hidden fees". Just honest, quality work by good people and a great company. Thank you, Thompson's. :-)

My elderly mother found this company online and figured they were a reputable business, she had a…read morerefrigerator that wasn't staying cold and she assumed the thermostat needed fixed. They came out and charged $120 for a service call, and said he took Cash App, Venmo or cash, and then told her she needed a part that cost $286.79 and said he would return. He did NOT return and she had to call them repeatedly and finally got ahold of what I assume was the "boss" he said he needed the money for the part before he would come out, she sent the money. A week goes by and she hears nothing, almost another week goes by and she calls them back again, and asks when they were coming back because her refrigerator was not being able to be used. She finally asked to just be refunded for the part because nothing was fixed and he ghosted her. So she was ripped off almost $300.00 and nothing was done. She had to call another repair service and pay for the part again. I wouldn't recommend these scam artist to my worst enemy. USE THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

I was referred to this business by a friend when my washer went on the fritz back in December 2021…read more I called Matt late in the afternoon and although I told him it was Not an emergency and could wait till the following day or one day during the week he said he would be right over. His business being approx. a 20 -30 min. drive to my home he said he would be right over and as promised he arrived within that time frame and went right to work. Matt was able to diagnose and repair my washer in no time. My machine needed a new transmission! My washer is an old direct drive washer 35+ yrs. old and has outlasted every new washer my family members have purchased twice over! I have chosen to keep this machine in repair and have put very little into repair cost thus far. Having put a new transmission in the washer several years earlier (approx. $150.00) and my husband and doing the work ourselves I knew what a new transmission replacement cost approx. should be. Matt gave me a couple of options, first to replace with a rebuilt old transmission for about $50. or to replace with a New one which he had on his truck. Being I want to keep my OLD washer I opted for the new tranny! After all was said and done my machine was up and running in about an hour and Matt only charged me $160. for the new part and his standard service call fee, so for $200. I had a like brand new washer and couldn't be happier! I feel Matt offers quick service, is very efficient and is very fair with his prices giving you options on how to repair your equipment and when he can offers you lower cost option when available. Yesterday, August 11, 2022 ... My washer developed a leak and the water when filling the machine started running out the bottom of the machine al over the floor. After quickly putting my machine in the drain/spin cycle to remove the water to stop the leak I called Matt. Matt was on a job elsewhere but said he would be over as soon as he could get to me and Matt was at my door within a couple of short hours. It took Matt no time to take the cabinet off of my machine to investigate and as I suspected one of the hoses attached to the outter basket had come loose. The clamp had rusted out and being weak gave way (remember the machine is 35+ years old) Matt fixed the clamp, put the machine back together and my machine was back up and running in No time. Matt being a nice guy could have charged me his standard service fee but being the nice guy that he is didn't charge me anything for his services! Keep in mind that Matt could have charged me his standard service call fee as he had every right to do so; and bear in mind Matt spent his time to drive to my home and gas prices as we all know are painfully inflated right now but Matt didn't charge us anything because we were his returning customers! Do yourself a favor if you are in need of a washer/dryer repair, Don't call Sears or GE repair or any of those high price competators out there, instead give Matt a call and let him do your repairs, I can't promise that he won't charge you his service fee but I do know that Matt knows his stuff & I promise you won't be disappointed!

Called in April and was told repairman couldn't work on it because of the two storms that happen and other equipment repairs came first. Called again today June 12th was told " no haven't worked on it yet after all you don't need it until November." Again I was told mechanic was off for two weeks. When I picked up my snowblower (not fixed) I discovered it has been stored outside. I really didn't appreciate the owner/emplyee condescending attitude.

We entered and no one was around. I said "You-Hoo?" and no one answered. My niece opened the first available door and saw a woman in a black skirt suit with her blouse untucked and in bare feet standing over an open casket. This woman came out, still disheveled and in bare feet and greeted us. (We should have left then but they had already picked up the body of my sister. She led us to an elevator, which had a huge bag of garbage on it, and took us to a downstairs meeting room. Among other things, she was not prepared for our appointment. She kept leaving to get things she needed. I wanted just a plain cremation because we were planning to inter her elsewhere in the summer. Many times, she said that "they" could help with that. She seemed to be interested in making more business. The funeral home wrote what I believe was an AI generated obituary after I had given her a detailed statement that I wrote. The saleswoman told us that the home would call when they received the death certificates. They did not. I called and had to pick them up at another inconvenient location. Finally, they did deliver my sister's remains, re-emphasizing that they would like to help us with her internment. Deli8vering my sister was the wrong time to ask for more business. I had to write the real obituaries and submitted them to the Monroe News and the Toledo Blade. A couple of weeks later they delivered an "advertising mug" and a corrected obituary. This certainly was too late, and the mug was in poor taste. Just because Merkle Funeral Home has several locations does not mean they are good at what they do. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!
