There's a very good reason for long lines here, and it's not due to the ice cream. Jimmy's staff is extremely dis-organzied and don't deliver accurate orders. The wait times are very long to place your order and there's loud music blasting, making it very hard to hear the server and even yourself. I ordered 2 simple ice creams: vanilla ice cream and a Pistachio ice cream both in cups with covers on them (because despite the numerous flavors of ice cream blasted on their boards, they only ones available were strawberry, vanilla, pistachio, and chocolate). The orders came out separately at the delivery window: the vanilla ice cream was in a paper bag (to go order and I don't know why) and the pistachio ice cream was soft vanilla ice cream covered in a glowing green syrup. There were no nuts in this ice cream!!! I will definitely not return again. The hype about them is just not worth it. read more

This part of the Delaware Valley is sprinkled with classic T.Bird styled ice cream stands; the kind that make childhood so special. The ascending jutting roofline and glass encasements, as dramatic today as when the concept was first designed and constructed in the middle of the last century. And, they all seem to have great soft serve ice cream and a large number of hard ice cream flavors to kvell over. Some, like Jimmy's also do the fast food thing very well. Grease burgers, sandwiches, fries, etc., are all turned out here just like they were for your grandparents. Personally, I find it hard to drive past any of them without stopping for a sample of their version of dreamy creamy delight. On a perfect April day after a few hours too many sitting in court with a client who wasn't prepared to deal with his circumstances, Jimmy's appeared like a desert oasis after days in the blowing sand. Had I been hungry, those burgers' siren song would have tempted me more, but I didn't need much of an excuse to try a small cup of soft vanilla on top of their version of butter pecan. The soft swirled crown was great, but tasted the same as many of the way stations along the river. Sweet, creamy, cool, addictive. They must all share the recipe. The hard butter pecan was excellent, too. Plenty of soft, chewy pecans mixed in with top notch toffee flavored dark tan base. All I can say is that it was gone too soon. Made me hope for another court date nearby in warm weather, so that I could have another crack at Jimmy's, and maybe have a run at that miniature golf course next door. read more

I go camping right by this place and it's awesome. Everything is priced fair and the ice cream is stacked high. I love the classic feel of this place and wish my town had something like it. The bench's on the side of the place face a little creek you can relax by while enjoying your food. Last time I came by tons of parents with their kids were coming by for food after their little league games. Next time I go camping I'll be sure to stop by Jimmy's again and maybe play a round at Holey Moley the mini golf place attached. read more
