There's a new coffee spot in Melville called Mokafe…read more They have a large selection of brews , including Mango Matcha and Pistachio Latte. Besides the drinks there is also a wide range of pastries, food, and snacks. The place is new and modern and is very clean. It's a standalone shop with lots of parking available. You definitely have to try the pistachio croissant! Did not see any gluten free food choices.

It's Kafe time! Mokafe that is. This Melville spot is bringing the coffee vibes to ya (along with…read moreplenty of food options as well). My wife and I recently checked Mokafe out twice a couple weeks apart with each experience being pretty solid. Round 1 consisted of just coffee drinks which you'd expect to get from a place like this as the name has Middle Eastern connections to the coffee of that region. What you might not expect is the list of speciality lattes they have as they really load in some unique options (Kinder Bueno latte?!). My tiramisu latte was exceptional while my wife's Nutella latte also hit the spot. Round 2 we leveled things up by still getting coffee, but we also dove into some food options as I ordered the Turkish bagel with olives and my wife got the strawberry Nutella flat croissant. Starting with the sweet, that croissant was fantastic and definitely something unique. My bagel was also pretty legit though not a LI-type bagel as this was flakier with that olive spread inside many bites. Different to what I'm used to, but still quite enjoyable. What wasn't as spot on was my pistachio latte. Not a bad drink as Mokafe seems to handle their espresso well, but I couldn't really grasp any pistachio flavor. I'll try a different latte next time (plenty to choose from!). Before wrapping things up, let's tackle a few other important pieces. Setting is superb in the comfy (albeit green) booths and large amount of seating. It's definitely a cozy spot to sit and enjoy your cafe goods, though the music is sometimes a bit loud and kind of takes away from a place you'd feel like you could maybe get some work done. Pricing is pretty fair with a 24oz iced latte coming in at $7.50 which isn't too shabby with some places definitely over that dollar point. And staff were nice enough for our quick interactions, and they'll also bring out and/or buzzer when your drinks/food are ready which all occurred pretty quickly/smoothly. Overall, Mokafe is a delight. The setting is cool, the menu is sizable, the food/drink choices are pretty tasty, and the whole spot is rather unique to a coffee scene that honestly could be getting a little oversaturated so it's nice to see something different. I know a second Hicksville location just opened, so now let's work on getting one of these a little more east of Melville!

Love Italian food. Love this restaurant…read more We went out for an evening dinner and one of us being in the mood for Italian, we gave this place a shout. Excellent call. It's a white tablecloth restaurant that serves some of the best Italian food I've had. And I've had a lot. The dinner starts with some terrific rolls and oil. Had to ask for some ground pepper and cheese, which they quickly oblige. The arugula salad may be the best arugula salad I have ever had. Large, fresh, the roasted portobello mushrooms and roasted peppers were outstanding, the goat cheese and balsamic dressing were just perfect. I had the eggplant Parmesan. I may have had better, but this one is right up there. The portion size was large, the sauce was outstanding, and I chose the angel hair pasta as my side, and that too was terrific. Exquisite evening definitely would go back there again.

So, I was excited to see this legendary brand open an Italian a restaurant. These are my thoughts........ When you walk in you're greeted by impeccably dressed and friendly staff and a beautify thought out restaurant. Check! First, I ordered the calamari with a side of both marinara and fra diavalo sauce. This was where my expectations started slipping. The breading was absolutely bland and added nothing special. The plain marinara you could get from a jar sauce. The fra diavalo sauce was pretty much the marinara with Tabasco stirred in to it. It's not that any of it was horrible, it was just boring. Then what was ordered for dinner was a plate of Penne ala Vodka and a Pizza Margherita. They both had nothing exceptional about them and truthfully were bland and unremarkable. This is a place that you bring people who don't know anything about good Italians food and just want basic flavor. Truthfully, the corner pizzeria has better flavor. I wouldn't drive just to go there again. Come on guys, step up your game!

Once again, both bathrooms,…read morewhich are labeled customer only, one was only accessible given that we were provided a code and the other bathroom, which I've seen employees use only, has a different code, which my husband and I are uninformed of. The district manager, Alisha, informed my husband that both bathrooms should have the same code. So today, was a long line to use the bathroom. My husband, who was on line himself, witnessed a little girl frantically waiting to use the bathroom, who was accompanied by her mother. So he walked over to the male employee, Gulhem (?). My husband asked him for the code to the other bathroom. Gulhem proceeded to walk over to type in the code himself, NOT TELLING MY HUSBAND, and when the door opened, my Husband told the mother and her daughter to go ahead of him. That seemed to rub Gulhem the wrong way, my husband mentioned to the male employee, the code should be the same for both bathrooms. His response was "YOU ALWAYS COMPLAIN " My husband responded, its the bathroom, every paying customer is entitled to use the bathroom (as the sign states for EACH BATHROOM). First time, my husband spoke to the district manager, he informed her the bathroom wasn't clean. Second time, I (His WIFE) actually contacted the Starbucks customer service, informing the associate that the employees of Starbucks in Country Point, did not call my name to let us know that our food was ready. They called everyone else's name loud and clear by the way. By the time we figured out it was ours, it was already cold. And lastly today's incident. So for this male employee, Gulhem, to say my husband always complains, is absurd, unprofessional, and not true. Lastly, I want to make this clear, there's only a couple of bad apples in this Starbucks location, three employees that come to mind. Everyone else is pleasurable, delightful, and quite professional. My husband and I have been to many Starbucks and this is the only Starbucks that gives us an issue. For the Starbucks male employee Gulhem, to accuse my husband for "always complaining," we've experienced multitude of times in which the bad apples have lied, stating the bathroom They USE, is Out Of Order, and below we've included visual pictures to provide evidence of this.

Its strategic location within the same shopping center offers convenience for residents and visitors alike. In this vibrant community hub, you can withdraw cash at Chase, stock up on groceries at ShopRite, refuel yourself with a large cup of Starbucks coffee, and even swing by the hardware store for a good hammer. However, I initially intended to find a peaceful spot to sit down with a cup of tea and review some documents I needed to read. Unfortunately, this Starbucks turned out to be quite a dissimilar experience. It felt more like an echo chamber. It was so loud inside that I could not hear myself speak, despite there being only a few people present. I genuinely feel sorry for the staff who must tolerate such noise levels day in and day out. With that in mind, I have decided that other than stopping by for a quick pick-up, I will not be spending much time here. It is simply not the environment I was hoping to relax and focus on.

The service was fantastic; our server was very attentive with drinks and took our orders promptly. The whole family loved the food! We ordered the Huevos Rancheros, almond pancakes, cannoli French toast, eggs Benedict, a grilled cheese sandwich, and the Salvadoran platter. Everything we get here is consistently delicious, zero complaints! The drinks were great too, including the watermelon juice, regular coffee, and lattes. We couldn't be happier with the service and the food. I will always recommend My Grandmother's Kitchen for brunch!

We went on Juneteenth, and I guess the restaurant didn't realize that people were off from school…read moreand work. My group was slightly bigger, so we were sat upstairs. They asked for drink orders and we were left alone for a long time until the drinks arrived. Though we were ready to order, the server just dropped off our drinks and went to bring another table upstairs. I went down to the counter to get someone to take our order, and it took nearly an hour before our order was in (and even then, they took the order of the second table before taking our party's order). It was almost an hour and a half since we entered the restaurant when the food finally arrived at our table, and then it took so long for someone to come with our check and process payment, we went down to the counter to do it. During this time, another family was seated upstairs and left due to not being attended to. This caused big delays in our day and I had to cancel an appointment because we spent over two hours at this restaurant when we didn't want to. That said, food was good. I got the lemon blueberry pancake, which was a little bit gummy but mostly tasted fine. My brother got the mangu, which is kinda hard to find around here, let alone on the menu of a breakfast brunch restaurant. It was my brother's first time having it, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Besides him choosing scrambled eggs instead of fried eggs, it was very classic mangu breakfast. The real crabmeat omelet was another hit-- crabmeat was so real there were little pieces of shell lining-- really ambitious and deliciously executed. The menu is really fun and the food was overall good. Again, I think the very slow service wasn't on purpose and it's because they didn't anticipate such a large crowd on a Friday, but I would say run if they try to seat you upstairs and you're the only ones up there. Be prepared to wait for a long time if you want the reward of nice food.
