Well I learned this from Daniel after my rear tires were wearing unevenly. Daniel was able to fit me into that day's appointment schedule and had me on my way in less than a hour of waiting. I received a full report on how my alignment was before and after it was adjusted. Alignment is under warrantee for 90 days but Daniel told me about the 1 and 3 year add-on to that warrantee. At either $49 or $99, it was a no brainer. I opted for the 3 year extended warrantee and will be returning every 2000 miles to get my alignment check up. I've been dealing with tire issues for a while, and every few days I was going to Costco just to put air back in one of my tires because it kept losing pressure. I originally went to M&M Tires and was told I needed four brand-new tires plus a new tire sensor, which was going to cost me a lot of money. I'm already dealing with enough adulting expenses right now, so hearing that was stressful as hell. Since I have a big trip coming up, I finally decided to get a second opinion and came here to Torres Tires because they're right down the street. Best decision ever. Alex took a look at my tire and immediately found the actual problem: there was literally just a hole in it. He patched it in about FIVE MINUTES and charged me only $15. FIFTEEN DOLLARS. I gave him $20 because at that point I was so relieved I could've hugged the man. What really stood out to me was how honest and straightforward everyone was. I know absolutely nothing about cars. I was telling American tire about this and how I just didn't like to have to go in there and deal with them for those 2 tires I got from them.. He said we can put your 2 tires under warranty for $25 each with us (American tires) even though, I bought them at discount tire center. Great! I paid for this & bought two new tires from America tires this day also, for a good price, decent brand, all weather tires. They are so helpful, and now, I'm able to have all my tires serviced here at American tires with warranty even though two were bought elsewhere, with small fee for warranty. Last unlike neighborhood tire shops they have America tire across the country so if you happen to be out of town & something comes up you can most likely find an America tires, and remember in certain states they are discount tires, but will never be called discount tire center! America tires or discount tires in certain states, no center at the end of name. I highly recommend & especially this particular location. I've always had really good experiences here.

Pleasant surprise! He also let me know about my tire condition for all fours and let me know what replacing two rears would cost (performance tires = replace same side/size at a time). But here's the thing, he provided the info but there wasn't an uncomfortable hard sell. He was professional and comprehensive but at no time did I feel like I was being sweated or pressured. In fact, I remember sitting there thinking, "huh, well heck maybe I'll just buy them here when the time comes!" That's solely because Nathan came at me as a professional, with expertise, a calm composed demeanor, and information (not a pitch). I needed to get my wheels aligned. They said it would take 30-45min. The shop is close to Da Vien, which has great drinks, so I walked over and waited there. At the end, they gave me a print out of the before and after of what my wheel alignment looked like. Will definitely go back and probably get my oil changed here as well! Prices are affordable!

I brought in my '06 RSX Type S to get a new clutch and flywheel installed. I bought an ACT…read morelightweight flywheel and an Exedy Stage 1 clutch and brought it to them. I was also having issues with the clutch hydraulics (bought this car used, love it to death but don't like the way it was previously maintained). Upon investigation, they found that the master and slave cylinders were getting stuck, and they replaced them with reasonably priced parts. When they got to removing the old clutch and flywheel, they sent me a picture of the shoddy workmanship that the previous person who worked on the clutch did. They showed me that a bolt was barely screwed in! I can tell by the condition of the bolt that it had been like that for a long time. The diligent mechanics also noticed worn bushings and replaced them. All issues were evidenced with pictures so you know they're not fooling you. I previously worked as a mechanic so nothing gets past me when it comes to my vehicles being worked on. These technicians are diligent and the labor rate is very fair; you get what you pay for, in a good way. I immediately took a drive down PCH to Huntington Beach to begin the clutch break-in process. Everything feels perfect and I am happy with the work completed. I will be returning to Big Q for all my major service needs. As will my mom, whom also previously brought her car in for service.

I had been here once before and had a great experience, so when my car's AT light went on…read moreunexpectedly one night I called them first thing the next morning to see if they could get it in. They said they could and gave me a timeline for working on the vehicle that matched my needs. While I appreciate them getting me in on short notice, they consistently over-promised and under-delivered on when they would be able to work on my vehicle. They were able to diagnose a couple of leaks that they thought were the problem and sent me photos to show me what they were looking at. In the past when I've left my car at this shop for work they sent over a detailed estimate before starting the work, but this time I only received the verbal estimate over the phone. I drive an old car, which isn't worth much, and I did let the person know that I wasn't interested in investing more in repairs than the vehicle is worth. As it was, the two leaks were just over $1K to fix, and I OK'd the work to begin. After fixing the first two leaks, they then came back and told me there was a third leak, which would require a more major repair to the transmission and they would have to have their transmission person (who wasn't there that weekend) send me an estimate the next day. While I understand that it's plausible that the third leak wasn't something they could have originally diagnosed, it felt a bit weird that the photo they used to show me the leak was one of the original photos they had sent before starting any work. If the leak was visible in that photo, I'm unclear why they couldn't have diagnosed it earlier. The added cost of this additional repair definitely tips the scales of worth-it/not-worth-it to repair vs replace this car, so I wish I had had all the information before deciding to make the initial repairs. Unfortunately, despite stabilizing the ATF level, fixing the leaks did not resolve the transmission issue. On a smaller scale, they didn't check or top up the tire pressure, which most mechanics I've gone to have done as a courtesy when working on my vehicle. The day after I picked up my car the tire pressure light went on, and when I checked my tires all four of them had low pressure. It's a small thing, but especially when dealing with expensive mechanical items like cars, the small things matter a lot in creating a sense of security and trust with your mechanic. They did mention that they were under new management since the last time I had been in, which may account for the different experiences.
