Got 6 different quotes and Action AC came out and installed a new condenser unit outside and new evaporator inside, in 3 hours. Didn't charge until AFTER THE JOB on a handshake AND came in literally $1500 LESS than the other 5 quotes. Lesson: Texas businesses will WORK for your business. Longer review: Galen answered the call and was able to quote me on the phone for a couple of new coils and a 3T outdoor condenser but wanted to make sure so he's going to send someone to come out and get us a free estimate. He was the last one that came out and quoted us and I couldn't believe how low his quote was! Almost $1500 less for the exact same equipment, warranty and time frame as the others. He didn't do the extra stuff that wasn't needed like replacing the vent lines or adding dampeners, etc, but again, it wasn't needed. We needed air at an affordable cost. He came early and went thru and quoted us for a new evaporator and condenser. He's definitely old school so I was a little afraid when he spke about a handshake deal over the phone. He did also give it to us in writing as well when he came out so that made me feel better. I checked their ratings on FB, Yelp, and also their state license, since the other companies couldn't match the price, and all came out stellar. I also contacted some of his Facebook clients and they stood by their awesome reviews. He gave us some tips for self care to maintain and extend the longevity of our new AC. He definitely answered every call or text I made and his team manager Rocky was prompt and fast. I will definitely be recommending him and his company.

But anyone interested in mini splits and VRF technology should read our story before choosing to work with Morgan Pro. We trusted them to 1) assess our home for the most energy-efficient HVAC system it could accommodate and 2) install it correctly. Morgan Pro failed to do either. Their $3K Manual J assessment of our 1500 sq. ft home determined it needed a 5-ton HVAC system. It took them over 30 visits to fully install a VRF system in our house and to get it functional--two inverters outside (they accidentally blew up the first one) and 6 mini splits through our home in all the ceilings. During that time, they also caused unnecessary damage: cutting extra joists, drawing on antique trim, and they compensated us for that. The HVAC system passed city inspection, but it never worked 100%. As Morgan Pro kept trying to fix it, we had to agree to things they had promised to avoid--wall thermostats everywhere, humidity and noise levels that were too high, and on and on. When water started pouring from our new ceilings in the middle of a Houston summer, it was clear to everyone that the system was simply wrong for our house. But instead of taking responsibility for their enormous failure, Morgan Pro blamed the two things we had paid them many thousands to professionally assess: our house, and the system! Their next move was to conduct a test on our home, claiming it now needed 8 tons of HVAC (!), not 5, and that we pay them a further $14K to get it up to 8 tons. Knowing it was utterly laughable that our 1500 sq. ft house was an 8-ton home, our only next step was a legal dispute to get them to give us a correctly-sized and functional system for the money they had already taken for us, with consequent delays to a remedy. Shocked and exhausted, we decided that delay was worse than simply severing ties with an inept business we could never trust again. Morgan Pro ended up waiving thousands we still owed them so they could crawl away from their own meaningless install guarantee, and we were relieved to see them go. We then removed the entire system (see photos) and installed a conventional one (4 tons!) which has worked perfectly from the start, costs much less to run, is much quieter, and is a great fit for the structure of our fully renovated historical home. Our new HVAC technician who extracted system has installed the same units many times before. He pointed out the clear mistakes he saw in Morgan Pro's installation, and said the technology was also just not suited to our house. Morgan Pro's supplier and factory rep (who they depended on almost exclusively) were also at fault and we are making formal reports to their respective professional boards and the manufacturer as well. All of them failed us abysmally, but none more than Morgan Pro: they failed to do right by our home and us, when that was their *only* job for which we paid many thousands in good faith while supporting their efforts in our home for months with remarkable patience and kindness. Everlasting shame on them. We have written this review so that other Houston customers can be well informed. We would hate for the same experience to happen to anyone else because we had remained silent about their record with us. One star is for their fantastic office staff and their young tech Ricky, who always worked as hard as he could to do his best, though he was way out of his depth on these units.

He informed her that the appointment was for our business--the same place they had done work before--and that they would need a 15-24 ft ladder to access the AC unit. The appointment was scheduled for Friday, May 9th. On Friday, I received a text stating that the technician was heading to my house. I called to confirm that they were going to the business and not my house, and Aisha answered. I verified the address and confirmed that she was aware a ladder was needed. However, she then stated that she was not made aware of this and that a $150 charge would be added for the safety of her technician, which I firmly believe is untrue! My husband was with me at the time, got on the phone, and reiterated that he had informed her. Aisha insisted that it was a $150 charge for the safety of her technician. I pointed out that we had work done at the same location in February of this year and were never advised of or charged an extra $150 for having a ladder brought to the location. She stated they should have charged me. To me, this seems ridiculous; you need tools to perform your job, so why charge extra? It felt like she muted me because there was silence for a good minute. Then she repeated her statement about the safety of her technician. I asked to speak to Melissa, as I had dealt with her during the previous job, but Aisha said, "No, I'm the GM, and the fee stays." I canceled my service due to this business taking advantage of local businesses and imposing hidden fees. I hope the owner, Gian Carlo, sees this review and recognizes what is being done to customers.

I had been sick for 3 months and was dizzy and could not go into the attic for myself. He promised to send me some from his camera phone even though I handed him mine. When the non English speaking guys came the next day I asked them about smoke smell etc and they nodded no to the questions. When they brought down the unit I ran my hand all around it and no residue, no smoke smell. I went outside to look at the main unit and what had burned was the small, housed condenser ? 6" X couple of inches wide. They had replaced that one a year before FOR $800.00...They did not calibrate the new unit, every time it is turned on, heat or a/c, it stinks up the whole house with a soured smell and I put in messages for a couple of weeks after the installation to the owner and no response. I am a senior, I can not afford this unnecessary unit. They had broken off valves, left the breaker box open outside during Harvey and several other things trying to get me to buy a new unit. I always said no because the old one was better than this one. The guy they send out gets a commission and preys on the elderly. My brother also saw that there was no smoke in the pieces brought from the attic and saw the burned box they had replaced in the outside unit. I would NOT recommend using this company.
