My review is regarding the treatment I received today from the receptionist (Lailani?) Upon checking in, she promptly informed me that I was no longer was covered by my insurance. Since it is the beginning of the new calendar year, I pulled out my new insurance card and told her that I was covered and I had verified this information with my insurer prior to coming to the office. She didn't look at my insurance card; instead, she turned her computer screen toward me and coldly stated, "well my computer says you're not covered." She then stated that she would enter me as a self-paying patient. I told her that I was covered and I would not be paying out-of-pocket for the visit. I asked her to call the number on the back of my card to verify my information. She rudely informed me that wasn't her job and that she would not check me in. I immediately asked her to let me speak to someone with more authority which seemed to agitate her. She finally took my insurance card with her to speak to someone behind the counter. Shortly she returned and without saying anything to me, she began keying something into her computer. Within a few seconds, she told me what I already knew--my insurance was valid. At no point did she apologize to me or acknowledge that she was in error. I understand people can have bad days, but her blatant rudeness and lack of professionalism were uncalled for.

I informed his staff through the portal again. I have been back and forth regarding lack of diabetic medication being filled because of necessary paperwork from the doctor and high blood glucose levels I continue to have. I also informed staff I believed I had an UTI. I was told to come into the office for a urine sample. I informed on portal I was in the office on 2/24/23 for second shingles shot and assumed labs would be drawn since I had reported high glucose readings and symptoms of a UTI and was told no. At check out I requested an earlier appointment with Dr. Barksdale and was told I was lucky to have the one in October.
