Healthcare Physicians Group is terrible. Worst customer service practices and policies, I've ever…read moredealt with. And I've gone here for over 12 years.
Dr Wooley used to be good. We had a friendly relationship and I think we got along well.
He came recommended by a rheumatologist, and I've seen him thru multiple major health events, incl cancer.
Complaint 1: This office has always been difficult to communicate with. It is IMPOSSIBLE TO GET ANYONE ON THE PHONE. Don't believe me? Try to call.
This is a big problem that they refuse to correct. And don't press 1...trust me on this one.
Complaint 2: in the past few years, real hands -on checkups, have been eliminated. An annual physical is now just vitals, Q&A (while Wooley types away at a laptop), quick listen to heart and lungs, and labs.
Seriously. And it gets worse. When I've results (from the lab, not the doctor) with critical checks out of normal range, it's taken over 3 weeks to get him to reply...thru the "portal." More than once. And, replies are always short...and alway amount to more labs.
Fast forward: This year, I had double hip replacement surgery. Both were difficult; I'm still doing PT. And I've been light headed, weak, etc. for over two months. Labs say I'm anemic...No diagnosis...just more labs.
I'm a 64 year old engineer and my patient patience is growing short. Websites like (e.g., Mayo, Johns Hopkins, etc.) led me to ask (via message) for a referral to an endocrinologist and an Rx for B12 shots.
Several years ago, before I had prostate cancer I did both. Have low T and potential vitamin deficiencies.
But this go around, no referral, no Rx, just more labs. And when I asked for clarification, I couldn't get a straight answer. After 1 week, and 3 rounds of brief back and forth, Wooley's reply was, "noted." That's all. I even asked what that meant. No additional reply...
Side Note: I don't believe Dr Wooley reads or replies to his own messages. I've felt that way, for a long time; based on the wording and half answers. If I did that in my industry, I could lose my license. Just saying.
So today, I finally went in, and complained to two "managers." They didn't want to hear it. At all. Their answer was, "Dr Wooley has decided I need to find a new doctor." In other words, complain, and you're dropped.
Again, he's been my PCP for 1/3rd of my adult life. Also, I've seen others reviews with the same results. Ridiculous.
On the bright side, I'd already found a new dr. I wanted to go to, if it came to this....
So, while I was still in their parking garage...I called that office. And to my pleasant surprise, a lady answered the phone. On the second ring.
Yep, a real live person...who knew how they did thing and how to welcome a new patient. And they had an opening, in 2 weeks!
Thank goodness; should have done this a loooong time ago.
