I got the iced maple leaf, so good! The service was awesome, the barista took his time and gave me so many options since it was my first time visiting. Also just a neat little cafe to hang out in.

    Amazing soup!

I worked from Jilly Beans everyday this week (m-f). Staff is always friendly. Food and coffee was awesome. Atmosphere was great. Chill coffee shop vibe. Bathroom was always clean. I have had the hazlenut latte (tripple shot) chai tea, loaded potato quiche I've had 3 times, soo good! Lunch special soup and half chicken salad is very good as well. I've had the chicken dumpling and pasta bean soup. They serve it in a cute little mug. Tastes homemade! Muffins are great too! Can't go wrong. I've also seen other people order the smoothies-- looks amazing. My only complaint is when there are more than 5-6 people on devices, the internet is slow there.

Great coffee, friendly staff, free wifi, and cute outdoor garden area to enjoy in the summer! Best cafe in town, in my humble opinion. I've tried several of their different drinks including smoothies, and they've all been delicious. My favorite is their maple leaf latte-- of course, suited for fall, but perfect year round! They originally had this as one of their autumn specialty drinks, but because this drink is also the favorite of the owner/manager (I think?) Jill, it's available year round! They have various wraps and quiches pre-made, which you can see in the glass display at the counter. Next to this display there's also a host of various muffins (cappuccino chocolate, poppy seed, cranberry, along with the more traditional ones) and cookies. During the cold months they have different soups every weekday-- tomato tortellini, chicken dumpling, broccoli cheese, chili, and potato bacon. It comes with a piece of bread or crackers. I HIGHLY recommend their chicken dumpling. Sure, chicken dumpling soup is naturally tasty, but theirs is especially delicious. Across from the counter is a large wooden shelf that has rotating items for sale. I've seen cute mugs made from the local shop Toasted Mud, planners, T-shirts, chocolate-covered coffee beans, knitted hats, and other items on display throughout the year. There's a drink rewards system-- 10 drinks and the 11th is free! You can keep the punch card yourself, or there's a little sorter right in front of the register that a lot of patrons keep theirs. Monday is double punch day! The staff is extremely kind and have the nice townie mentality-- they always ask how the day is going, try to memorize your regular drink order and your name and any other info you care to share!

What a pleasant surprise! Not only is the coffee, cinnamon scones, and spinach/feta quiche delicious, but the atmosphere of mismatched furniture and quaint seating areas, perfectly inviting! We , however, have chose to sit outside in their secret garden which is absolutely breathtaking! A "must"place to stop on your travels or as a regular, you can take advantage of their punch card to earn a free drink!! The staff is as friendly as they come and will make your coffee exactly how you want it! And a plus for us, they have soy!!!

It's a cute coffee shop in a great location. I love their peach Italian soda. I have a ham and turkey wrap. It's decent but nothin to talk about. It's a good place to come and chit chat with people. They have free wifi. I would recommend it for anyone who wants coffee and to relax.

The mango smoothie I got was okay. Way too sweet. Their menu is too large and their prices fluctuate like crazy. They were quite friendly.

So cute, quaint, lovely, and a slice of heaven in Hillsdale. Stop and grab a scone, so good! Plenty of seating.

Refuge I want to start by saying that I really do love this…read morecoffee shop and I recommend all coffee lovers to try this place out. They have the best espresso in Branch County and I won't get my coffee fix from anywhere else. The shop is cozy and clean. Most of the staff seem to know their stuff and they've all been very professional and friendly. It's one of the most welcoming coffee shops I've ever been to, for sure. They sell Yoder's cinnamon rolls and they're sooooo good! 10/10 highly recommend. If my review was based solely off of what I've said so far, I'd give them 5 stars across the board. Unfortunately tho, I tried their breakfast this morning and wish I hadn't. I don't think anyone should pay $8.50 for the bagel sandwich I received this morning and hopefully these photos will help prevent others from feeling as disappointed as I do. My "everything" bagel had barely "anything" on it, meaning it was extremely hard to tell it was an everything bagel, it looked and tasted more like a plain bagel with a very thin layer of cream cheese on it. I know no one asked for my 2 cents and I don't want this to come off as if I know their business better than they do, because I don't, but if I were to be asked to give them a POSSIBLE solution to prevent this from happening in the future, I would suggest posting their food menu on a blackboard, with prices clearly written out, and where it's easy to read. The drink menu would be a perfect example of this if the prices were listed. A bonus would be if you had the menus & prices on your website as well so it's easy to find! I work in Coldwater and we order from you quite a bit and one thing we've all mentioned is wishing we could see a full menu so we know beforehand how much our orders are gonna cost and I know some of my coworkers have wanted to order food and didn't because they didn't see any prices listed. On a positive note, I absolutely love: -the hand written messages on every single cup. -the miniature Jesus keychains you sell. (My coworker talks about the ones she got from you quite often.) -how clean the entire shop is. -the sign above your bathroom sink. -you put a photo on your website that shows exactly what a drink is made up of, so people can actually see what the difference is between a latte and a cappuccino, etc.

Scripture printed around, friendly staff. Neat details, like the use of pews for seating. The day we went, their internet was down and we had to go to a nearby atm to get cash out, my understanding is that that isn't usually an issue. Large selection of drinks and the option to do a "flight of lattes"- which is unique and fun. We each had a different beverage- two February special lattes and a chai tea latte- we enjoyed them all! We also tried some different food options, an egg cup, biscuit & gravy and the turkey, bacon, ranch wrap. Again, everything was tasty! Although it would be a 35-40 minute drive, definitely looking forward to going back!

A day at the lake deserves a treat for lunch, and after a quick trip up to Round Lake (next to…read moreDevil's Lake) this fall, my better half and I decided to grab a bite locally. The Sandbar Cafe was a new spot that we hadn't tried yet, and after perusing the menu, we decided to make that our stop for lunch. The idea of a soup/salad/sandwich combo in some permutation of those choices was the perfect thing. I decided to go really wild and try the quiche of the day, a leek and bleu cheese quiche, as well as a bowl of the sweet pepper soup. With both items warmed up, it was just the thing to chase the chill in the air away. If the stuffed sweet pepper soup is on the menu when you visit, order it with confidence. It was the perfect balance of a little sweet a tiny touch of heat, and hearty enough to be filling. The quiche wasn't my favorite (I think I'm just too partial to a quiche Lorraine to be adventurous with other ones), but it was still good. Served with a cookie on the side, it was a filling and delicious meal. The owner was friendly and helpful, providing recommendations for the menu and chit-chatting with us as we ate that day. At the end of the meal, she even offered to recycle my Diet Coke can from lunch that day -- the eco-friendly aspect definitely gave the place a boost in my mind! I'm already looking forward to my next visit to the lake, and another helping of that sweet pepper soup!
