Jill Sanders Photo over my piano studio

I have been in love with Jill Sanders' photography ever since I first saw the studio ten years ago. When I moved into my first home last year, I decided to get my self a housewarming gift of her beautiful photos. I decided on a beautiful picture of the PV hills by the Redondo Esplanade at dusk. I hung it over my piano and it brings me so much joy every day and when I am playing or composing. Jill is a warm and talented photographer and I am so grateful for her work!

I think this is my favorite art gallery of all time, and it's gate kept for a good reason. The…read moreliteral entrance is modeled after ancient Chinese palace gates, how's that for gate keeping? Anyway, for those not in the know, Chen Art Gallery is tucked away in the Sunrider office building. You have to call to make an appointment and parking is free on the street. But it's all free so book away! Anyway, once you're in, there's a heavy emphasis on no phones or photography, and you'll discover why once you step foot inside. Holly was an amazing tour guide and knows her Chinese history really well, better than most of us probably. Anyway, where to even start? There's 15 rooms of artifacts from all dynasties of China, as young as Qing dynasty up to the 19th century to as old as 3000BC. And you'll be seeing things from authentic thrones to lavish silk embroideries to beautiful jade to sculptures to ceramics to gold, gold and more gold. Everything is carefully curated and honestly, if photos got out, big museums might hound them to borrow their exhibits hah! Anyway, you will be blown away by the sheer proportion of this lowkey museum/art gallery and by the sheer quantity AND quality of everything in here. This is a must visit and I'm very lucky to live so close by cause I hope to visit again in the future. Props to Dr. Chen for having such good taste and literally paying for all of this!

What a hidden gem. There is so much to see and learn. Holly is so knowledgeable and friendly.read more

Yes my very first "First to Review" on yelp…read more Came here for an art show. They have live models (pinup style models). And, we watched an artist draw a drawing of them. It was fun to have a glass of wine ( provided by the gallery) and talk to other people interested in art. Art is very subjective. Hopefully, I will have $$$ to buy something from my favorite artist/painter. They offer classes to let our your inner artists. They sell painting from local artists. Since I was driving to LA to check out art galleries, I decided to stay local. The space is not big as you can see from my pictures. Parking; There is free street parking. FYI, I came during the weekend. Overall, it is nice to support local artists. But, art is very subjective.

It displays art from local artists as well as renowned painters and photographers. It offers classes, workshops, cocktail receptions and is always changing the exposition of Art, which makes it very interesting. Most definitely a place to stop before the night starts for a artsy night and wine, or for an interesting class. One of my favorite places in the area!

Beautiful mall architecturally, but it's gone downhill a lot since I last came here 20+ years ago…read more A lot of stores are vacant now, including restaurants, so it feels a bit deserted in some areas. There are still some great stores around though with great deals like Hot Topic. This mall is huge and tall with three levels which is rare nowadays. There are a lot of parking spaces in the parking lot close to the entrance, free parking.

I hear there's talks of demolition and turning this place into a residential and commercial area. October 2026, this mall was rented out to Anime Night Mart. TONS of vendors on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floor. Lots of little stands and creative art pieces for sale. There were so many to see and a lot of competition. It was my first time seeing this event and I had a blast. Even won a prize! A large mousepad. Also got free tote bags. I've never seen the mall packed like this for years. It hasn't been this crowded since way before Covid. This mall has sadly become empty with stores shutting down. I'm glad to see this kind of event bring foot traffic and traction back into the mall and bringing business. They should do this here more often. People flew in and traveled from all over to be here. Visitors also dressed up in cosplay. Such a fun event! Met some people, visited lots of vendors, and took pictures with some hosts. They even had a dj playing music. The mall was jam packed with vendors, they were everywhere. It was a free event but we got a free giveaway gift bag with freebies just for scanning our QR code with the team.
