I can't say enough good things about Dr. Krapf. I was in so much pain when we met and thanks to her I am now almost 100% recovered. By so much pain, I mean I couldn't sit normally. I had to lean to one side and even then, pain. I couldn't do any normal activities. It impacted my quality of life. We had to cancel a ski trip, and I actually eventually had to stop working in an office for some time. I first saw Dr. Krapf in Feb 2020 and by June 2020, I felt worlds better, completely able to do all my normal activities. With a bit more time, I will likely be completely back to normal. Health-wise I feel great and unlimited in what I can do. Both her bedside manner and more importantly medical advice, research, and treatment are amazing. I had been misdiagnosed and then given incorrect treatment options by three or four different doctors before Dr. Krapf. Some doctors wanted to do surgery immediately which would have been very painful and unnecessary in my case, and may never have resolved my issue. I was hesitant at first to go to the CVVD where Dr. Krapf practices today because I would need to pay out of pocket, but for my condition it was 100% the correct decision. I am now a huge proponent of Botox and nobody else had offered this to me prior.
Diving deeper into my journey, I have learned and developed a lot of opinions through my struggle which started in December 2019 and resolved in June 2020 thanks to Dr. Krapf. One being that the current women's health medical structure is a bit broken. When women experience feminine issues - vaginal or vulva related and unrelated to pregnancy they are expected to go to an OBGYN. OBGYNs are expected to know all recommendations, alignments and issues related to mother and baby and deliver babies! To expect this OBGYN to be the leading expert in issues of the vulva (not a body part required to have a baby) is unfair to patients and doctors. I have developed this opinion because I honestly believe I'd still be suffering if it weren't for seeing a vulva specialist and Dr. Krapf is the TOP doctor in the area and likely one of the best in the world. Prior to Dr. Krapf, I had gone to good medical facilities, I had seen an Inova OBGYN who misdiagnosed me with a chronic yeast infection and put me on drug regimen that would have gone on for 6 months, a GYN specialist at Inova who wanted to operate, and a pelvic floor specialist at a private practice who wanted to do PRP. All of them missed and none had diagnosed me with hypertonic pelvic floor dysfunction, which was the primary source of my pain. For which none of their treatments would have been successful as they don't treat the muscle. Dr. Krapf recognized that I had hypertonic pelvic floor dysfunction immediately.
She was methodical in her treatment plan. After lighter fare options didn't bring enough relief, we decided to do Botox. However, this is a specialized treatment which should only be done in this area by a specialist like Dr. Krapf. Compared to the ongoing pain I was in, I found the Botox 'almost' a breeze and it has made me feel SO much better!
I highly recommend Dr. Krapf. She is one of the best doctors I have ever met and is so dedicated. I am so very grateful to Dr. Krapf.
I hope you find relief and feel healthy as everyone deserves to. read more
