From the consult all the way through post op , I was treated with the utmost respect and compassion. The nurses assigned to me, Macy and Katie, were extremely professional and absolutely went the extra mile to insure my comfort and care was far better than anything I expected! Dr. Guyer listened to my concerns and questions during the consult and met with me pre-surgery. I absolutely recommend this practice and group of medical professionals! Top-notch!

They've moved to location in Roanoke, VA. The doctor is…read morethorough and addresses all of the questions at your visit. This is the best and preferred time, as when calling in with a concern, the same devotion as face to face is not available and the front staff will sometimes cut you off mid sentence. But, I've been told by some that well, that's healthcare these days. Hmmm sounds like some folks should consider a career change then. Good luck out there folks!

Dr. Hormel is a very thorough, humble neurologist that does his homework. I was very impressed that…read morehe had reviewed my medical information before I arrived. While I've had positive visits in the past, my last visit was disappointing. The reason for…read morerequested diagnostics were not fully explained and there was no mention of billing so that I could make an informed decision. I should have read the forms more carefully, but it would be helpful for the physician and technicians to go over them verbally. I was told later that there was no way to no what the cost would be. However, I was given a bill promptly after the diagnostics with an amount. In other practices, such as optometrists, a full rundown of costs are given before you purchase an item. It isn't difficult. So, I find it unconvincing that a routine test and standard insurance deductibles could not be estimated beforehand. Another issue I encountered at this office during several visits was the display of a bible -- once in an exam room and later in the waiting room. I was told that patients sometimes leave items. But there was no indication that they intended to do anything about it. I find it hard to believe people randomly leave items in exam rooms without them being noticed and removed. I think it's important to create a neutral and welcoming environment for all patients, not just a select group. So, Lewis Gale Physicians apparently are either proselytizing or pandering. Neither is useful in a medical practice. I will likely be looking for an alternative that treats all patients respectfully, discloses costs, and communicates more effectively.

When I walked in I was instantly greeted with a huge smile from the lady at the front desk. I was taken back soon after signing in. When talking with Amber Neal I instantly felt comfortable and I felt like I was in very good hands with this office. I have never had such an excellent experience and I am very grateful to now have such a supportive and kind family physician. I would and have already recommended this office to every single person I know in the area. If I could give this office 10 stars, I would.

I'm also quite impressed he studied about my muscular dystrophy and is on top of every aspect of my treatment plan. It's nice to not have to explain everything each time I come in.
