The servers were amazing and really patient while we decided what to get. We went at 5:30 on a Sunday night, definitely a good time to go as it wasn't crowded. Corn cheese: It came out sizzling and was such a good addition to our meal. Once it cooled down, you could taste the sweetness to the dish. Popcorn Pot Stickers: No notes, it was a great starter. Bulgogi Bibimbap: Not my meal but I tasted the meat and it was incredible. It is hot though so just be prepared for that. Tonkotsu Ramen (with sesame): So many noodles! I feel like other places skimp on the noodles and give you more broth but Jijime has a beautiful balance of broth and noodles. The soft boiled egg was a good addition to the bowl. It was served whole, I split it open for the photo. I got medium spice level and it wasn't really spicy so I think next time I'd get spicy. Peach Soju Cocktail: We got the small and it was enough for 3 servings each person (2 people). Super sweet and definitely a hit. The restaurant itself had a lot of seating and unlike other places, music wasn't blasting so you can hear your friends speak!
Came here and got the bimbimbap, chicken with cheese, and corn cheese. Favorite was the corn cheese, good flavor, simple. The bimbimbap was standard, some crispy rice and scratched the itch. The chicken was tender and we got it spicy. Decent flavor but again nothing special. Overall everything is ok and nothing too special. There is no bonchon here.
I just had a really nice lunch here with my mom and dad! The chicken dish I had here was mildly spicy just like the way I love it. The service was very pleasant and the waitress was very friendly and attentive to my family's needs . The ambiance of the place was unique as well! I highly recommend the restaurant for lunch or dinner! 5 stars all around
Why don't we have 100 stars to give instead of 5? The portions and quality of the food here gives you a bang for your buck! We ordered Spicy Chicken JJim and it was absolutely banger! The drinks were awesome too, they have a gummy drink that hits it out of the park! Can't even taste the alcohol on it. Service was awesome here, Alex our server was very professional and attentive. They're very polite and they make sure your experience is top notch. The ambiance here is cutesy, it's like a small hole in the wall and my fiancee and I felt like we were on a cute date. 100/100 stars and an SF Fav for me.
Good: popcorn salmon, kuro ramen, sake jelly drink, grilled pork belly plate. The tofu soup was too salty and oddly sweet which wasn't our favorite. Portions are quite large for the price. I was a big fan of the black garlic ramen, but the pork belly in it was just okay (kind of tough; the grilled pork belly plate was much more tender). Quick service and very no frills; place was still pretty bustling late at night. Not too hard to get a seat without a reservation. Recommend the jelly sake drink! Very fun and unique (not at all like a jell-o shot like I expected)!
Came on a Saturday for lunch around noonish. It was pretty empty when we arrived but quickly got busy within 30 minutes. We ordered the Okonomiyaki fries, popcorn salmon, and spicy boneless fries chicken. Food came out in about 15 minutes. Overall food review is 2/5. The restaurant is pretty small, so I could see how there can be a wait during busy hours -- personally not a place that would be worth the wait for me though. I've has this spot bookmarked for the longest time because I wanted to try the Okonomiyaki fries, and unfortunately they were a disappointment. Fries themselves were very mid; lack of crisp made them not a good vehicle for the sauce. Popcorn salmon portion is pretty tiny for the price, but I will say the salmon flavor is pretty strong for those that are looking for it. Chicken was probably the best part of the meal, but by no means was it really that great either. Literally no spice at all, texture was soggy from all the sauce, and just overall not that impressive for korean fried chicken.
So... I am very very thorough in my reviewing and therefor I try very hard not to overhype when I think a restaurant is great. This place might be nearly impossible for me NOT to overhype because of how good every single last dish has turned out to be. Our first experience with Jijime was during a hankering I was having for some quality ramen, and that was last month. My partner and I each ordered a ramen dish plus an order of popcorn potstickers (which hooked me forever). The ramen was so much food, for me, that I couldn't possibly have finished it alone but it was EXACTLY what I wanted and tasted amazing. My partner completely finished his ramen and that's how I knew this place was going to become a regular spot for us. We almost exclusively do takeout and so the photo you'll see is just at home, but do not let the quaintness of my photo fool you... Tonight we ordered four appetizers instead of ramen, since it was just so much food for me last time, and the prices aren't low, however that's completely justified based on taste alone but also on quantity. I expected to like the popcorn potstickers, but I didn't expect to enjoy EVERY SINGLE DISH, which I did. The boneless chicken, which we got in a soy garlic sauce, was the highlight for sure.. it was crunchy and yet perfectly textured inside. Immaculate honestly. The pork buns were a first for me, incredible with cucumber. Literally every last bite was spectacular and I really truly MEAN that. When we order on the phone, the staff is polite and always puts our pickup time at 15 minutes, even on a Saturday at 7pm! Amazing. For just my partner and myself the meal has come to $70 both of the two times we have eaten here but I mean this when I say it, it is worth every single penny and I know it's on the pricier side. We will be returning as regulars, maybe only once a month because of the price but regulars nonetheless. Jijime you are a hidden gem in the Richmond and we will be loyal FOREVER.
All the yums! If you're ready to get your Asian fusion on, this is where you want to do it at! First off, the menu is filled with so many yummy sounding choices, you'll probably end up doing what we did, and that is ordering one of all of the different things that you wanna try. Just do what you want regret it! Boneless fried chicken/soy garlic: check! Generous pieces of chicken, made to the absolute perfection, seasoned incredibly well, and if it wasn't for all of the food that we had ordered, I'm pretty sure I would have finished this all on my own lol yes, it's that tasty. Corn cheese: check! I love a good Korean corn cheese, this one definitely fell short. Not something that I would order again. Beef Short ribs: check! Pretty pricey for the small portion, but definitely tasty! And I love the fact that there was more meat than fat or bones. So it definitely hit the taste sensation! Bibimbap bowl: all of the wows! This is a huge portion with a great variety of so many wonderful vegetables, flavors, just everything. In my book this is definitely shareable, but someone with a really hungry and healthy appetite definitely could finish this in one sitting. Absolutely tasty. The restaurant is incredibly clean, as is the restroom, so major bonus points. Customer Service is spot on. We were greeted by a friendly smile and seated, given menus and water right away. Our order was taken, and food was served hot and quickly. Perfect restaurant experience! A great experience, really good food, and definitely a place that we will be going back to!
The soy garlic boneless fried chicken was crispy and covered with sauce. It was more like chicken tenders. I would come back and try the spicy ones. The spicy chicken JJIM was also very flavorful. It had a bit too much sauce for my personal liking, but adding cheese balanced it out a bit. The chicken was juicy. The restaurant was pretty empty for a late lunch on a Saturday. The interior wooden walls and dim lights give it a cute little bar vibe. They also have happy hours!
they have a bunch of traditional korean/japanese dishes but also creative fusion dishes on the menu like bulgogi with quesadilla ($15) which we got. the bulgogi offered an interesting flavor and elevated the typical mexican dish, although I thought it was a bit dry the sizzling bibimbap with soy garlic chicken ($21.99) was better, but the bibimbap sauce wasn't spicy at all. the pan it was served in was big but really shallow, so it looked like there was more food than there really was
I've finally made it to this Asian fusion casual spot. Rustic ambiance and seating options for all party sizes. Friendly service. Menu is a good blend of Korean and Japanese food. Everything was tasty and portioned to share or eat solo. A good spot to visit. read more
Our waitress was fantastic! friendly, attentive, and the best part of our visit. She provided excellent service from start to finish. The food was good, although it wasn't quite as memorable as it used to be. The spicy boneless chicken was crispy, juicy, and flavorful, but there was absolutely no spice. I'd rate it 4/5 because if you order something labeled "spicy," you expect at least a little heat! The pork buns were decent. The pork and fresh cucumbers were delicious, but the bun itself was a little leathery. The biggest disappointment was the house hot sake. It tasted different than I remembered, and after pouring our second round, we poured out a fruit fly that had been inside the bottle. That definitely ended our sake for the night. I hope the restaurant inspects bottles before serving them, as that's something that can easily ruin an otherwise enjoyable meal. Despite those issues, the outstanding service is what earned this visit five stars. With a little more spice in the spicy chicken and better quality control on the sake, it'll be easy to make an already good restaurant even better. We'll definitely be back. read more
Hard review to write. Probably more of a 3.5 review rounded up. Jump to service if you want to get into the main reason why. Quality/Quantity - We had a large group, thank you for accommodating. I believe we made reservations, where we would not be seated until everyone showed up. Good thing the group all showed up on time (for once, lol). Ordered the following for our table, our other table had our larger half of the group. But due to the door mishap, I did not want to walk over to take pictures of their food/order. Okonomiyaki Fries - Was too soggy for me, but everyone else on our table enjoyed it. Popcorn Salmon - I did not enjoy this, but everyone else on both tables loved it, so it was "a me problem." Boneless Fried Chicken - I enjoyed it, but no one else did?!?! I guess I have very different tastes from this group...? Tonkatsu Ramen - Good. But very basic. Beef Short Rib Plate - Three orders, both people enjoyed it. Actually, our young eater ate 1.5 of this plate, 1/2 from his mom's order. This order also came with a side salad and steamed rice. Bulgogi Plate - I can't remember if I got my rice?!?! Well, the beef was of decent quantity, I actually brought a little back home for leftovers, with the boneless fried chicken. At home, it was a little too salty, too much soy sauce. Sizzling Bibimbap - My daughter's dish which was also good. I believe she had leftovers. Our other table got the regular bibimbap, they said next time they will try the sizzling as they felt that was better. Lastly, our guest on the other table ordered one of each dessert for both tables. Mango Panna Cotta & Chocolate Tartufo - I am not a chocolate person, but enjoyed the Tartufo better. Our guest wanted Soju! The first time, so we ended up ordering two hot larges. Smooth and went down too easily. I then finished my meal with a Ballast Point Sculpin IPA. Boy I miss this beer, I have not had in a while. Too busy supporting local breweries. Overall, the food was just okay for me and my daughter. Ambiance - Outside looks good, and new. Love the menus and the happy hour information. Might come back for HH. Small local restaurant. A few tables and bar seating. Clean restrooms, two unisex. Street metered parking, free after 6pm. Plenty of street parking. Service - Okay, the front door has issues... It stays open, then does NOT close. It is slanted, so you have to "force" it to close. When we ALL got here, I guess we left the front door open by accident. Well, the waitress did NOT appreciate that (I stayed outside taking my Yelp pictures while everyone else walked in). She gave me a LOOK... While I was still outside, more people came in and I tried to close the door for them and because the door is slanted, it did not close and had to be "forced" resulting in a slam, sorry. Got another look... After that, I went straight to my seat. Menus on the table. Price - Expensive, or did we order too much? I think our bill with tax and tip came out to almost $800. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2017; look forward to trying your happy hour. read more
This is a good place to grab a bite if you're craving some of the items they offer. There's nothing particularly special about it, but it's definitely not bad. I don't think it's a place I'll go out of my way for, but if I'm in the area and looking for something to eat, this place works. read more

This place has a pretty big menu and there's also a vegetarian specific one. The spicy pork mazemen was amazing, pork was delicious and just the right amount of sauce. Noodles to pork/toppings ratio was perfect. Would definitely get it again read more

Came by around 7:30pm, the day before Thanksgiving and was seated right away. Ordered a yuzu jello alcoholic drink, soju, okonomiyaki fries and the chocolate tarfufo for dessert. The yuzu jello was fun to eat. The fries had the flavors of okonomiyaki, it even came with sliced cabbage at the bottom. Fries were crispy. We came to celebrate a friend's birthday and the staff brought a birthday candle with the dessert. The chocolate tarfufo is basically chocolate ice cream. What made the night special was the staff. She was very welcoming and sweet. They also have a happy hour menu which looks intriguing. read more

Came on a windy sunny afternoon and it was exactly what I needed to go about my day. Loved the presentation off the bat and the flavors of the dishes suited each other. A good place to gather and enjoy company and food. Not sure why they seated us next to each other when the restaurant was empty. They didnt the patrons out. Sometimes you get to hear conversations. Even when the table next to us left, new people were seated. To keep us warm? To see what people order? then you order? Food was good. Didn't know a friend didnt eat shrimp or else I wouldn't have ordered seafood bibimpap. Didnt have roasted rice on the bottom. No seafood pancake. No freebies like in old style korean restaurants. This is fusion with ramen on their menu.. Appetizers were the star. Crispy chicken with no bones. Cheesy corn. Tofu soup was good with bean sprouts on top with bowl of rice No bancha. No complimentary tea. Water. Great service. They were kind to let us stay till closing. They were polite not saying anything. Plenty of parking since it was a week day night. read more

Love this place so much! I got the bibimbap and the corn cheese! The bibimbap is a huge portion for 18 dollars and you can pick how much sauce you want which is great if you cant deal with spice! The bulgogi was very flavorful! The cheesecorn was one of the best kinds ive had and it was 13 dollars which was more on the pricey side. There was plenty of seating and I went on a Sunday at 7pm. The food came out pretty fast and its a nice and cozy restaurant to sit in when its cold outside. It was hard to find parking but theres a parking lot for 1.50 for one hour. read more
JIJIME is one of our favorite neighborhood places to eat. It's comfort food. It's cozy. It's consistent in quality and quantity. We know what we like and what to expect. There are never any surprises. That's why we call JIJIME our go to restaurant. It's like clockwork. Every time we return from a mini vacation, we always come here to get our fix. And the best part of our eating experience is the service. Everyone that works here are all so frickin' sweet and polite. They always make us feel at home here. An absolute must is the Honey Butter Fried chicken appetizer. It comes hot, crispy and has a delectable sauce that is truly addictive. You almost wish they would bottle it and sell it separately. It's so yum. I always order the side salad because it's tasty and crispy. Tonight my BF ordered the bulgogi bibimbap and I ordered the tonkatsu ramen with toasted sesames and added corn. Hmmmmm, medium or medium spicy? Medium it is and it was perfect. I just had a few beads of sweat on my forehead. I really wanted to dive into my BF's bibimbap, but I will refrain and order it on our next visit. Check it out. You will not be disappointed. read more

Was a bit let down by this place.. swung by here on a Saturday around 3 pm and was able to get a table for 6 without wait. We decided to get appetizers to share family style and individual entrees. For the appetizers, we tried: - Okonomiyaki Fries (5/5): Probably my favorite thing out of everything we tried. I liked the bonito flakes and mayo. Fries were similar texture to In-N-Out fries. - Tofu Nugget (1/5): Disappointing. The veggies and tofu didn't really pair well together. They gave a sauce that tasted like worcestershire sauce, which is not really an ideal pairing. - Chicken Karaage (4/5): Decent chicken karaage. Sauce provided pairs well. - Popcorn Salmon (3/5): Comes with a spicy mayo, which I think was the same sauce that the chicken karaage came with. Didn't really feel like the sauce paired as well with the salmon compared to the chicken. For my entree, I got the sizzling bibimbap with bulgolgi. It sure does come sizzling! The rice was nice and crispy... but that was the best part. They really overbuttered the dish to the point where the butter was the dominant flavor. The vegetables chosen were also a bit odd and not traditional bibimbap veggies. I just didn't really feel blown away eating this dish. Service was decent. When they brought out utensils, there was a pair of chopsticks that were dirty.. but they were quick to help us replace it. read more

We had a reservation for 3 on a Sunday for a late lunch but it didn't seem necessary as it was quite empty inside. Our order: Korean Pear Juice ($4.00): +Not my order, but friend enjoyed it. Boneless Fried Chicken - Soy Garlic ($13.00): +Crispy exterior with juicy interior +Soy garlic glaze was savory and sweet +Large portion good for sharing Black Mussel Soup ($17.50): +Lots of black mussels +Cabbage and onions added crunch -Fish broth was salty and heavy on the pepper: We ended up leaving it behind. Sizzling Bibimbap - Soy Garlic Seafood ($24.99): +Rice was cooked well: Fluffy with crispy rice on the bottom +Plenty of crunchy bean sprouts and vegetables +Seasoned well -Small portion of seafood Side notes: 1.) SERVICE - located in the Richmond district near Golden Gate Park - street parking only which was not too difficult to find on a Friday evening - ambiance good for a semi casual meal with friends - good service with food that was brought out fast - restroom available inside MENU - Korean Japanese fusion food - vegetarian and vegan options available - average price ($18 per entree) FOOD - veggie spicy tofu stew (8/10): soft tofu simmering a chili broth with veggies and green onions served with a side of rice. This was the better of the two dishes we ordered. It is a comfortingly warming meal perfect for a chilly day. The portion size is a quite generous and can be shared between 1-2 people. - sizzling fried tofu bibimbap (6/10): crispy rice, sautéed veggies, and fried tofu cubes served on a hot plate with a side of spicy pepper sauce. The tofu is so crispy it almost felt like eating croutons. It is a good sized portion to feed 1-2 people. I liked the flavor of the sauce but would have wanted it to be mixed into the dish because the drizzle on top did not fully coat all of the rice and tofu. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes! Food was delicious. Vibes are cute. Toasted sesame ramen was delicious must get toasted if you can. Star of the show was the sizzling bibimbap. Service was great as well. I'll be back. read more
First time visiting this restaurant and it was a great experience! The food was delicious with generous portions. You can really tell the chef puts a lot of care and effort into each dish. The interior is nicely decorated, and the soundproofing makes a big difference - even when it's busy, it still feels calm and comfortable inside. read more
Jijime is cozy when it is not crowded. I was picking up piroshkis next door and noticed there were tables available. Last time, my table was right next to someone else's table and the back of my chair against another party. Tonight I had their sizzling Korean short ribs $24. This came with a small bowl of rice and a side salad. The food tasted fine and service was excellent. read more

This was a good spot coming back from north of San Francisco. It wasn't too crowded so we got seated immediately. They had very good hot tea which was great after a cold day. We got the soft tofu stew which was very different than any of the stews I've tried at other places. It had a lot of veggies which was good and the broth tasted different. The portion size was also good. We also tried the tofu nuggets which tasted like a very Japanese influenced dish, it was tasty. Overall a good experience, with many options. read more
