WARNING: Negligent service caused catastrophic engine failure I took my vehicle to Jiffy Lube on Thousand Oaks Blvd on December 26, 2025 for a routine oil change. The car was barely driven afterward. A few days later, while driving on the 101 freeway, the engine suddenly made a loud mechanical noise and the check engine light came on. I narrowly avoided a serious accident and had to pull over onto the left shoulder before the car completely shut down. The vehicle was towed to a licensed mechanic, who determined the engine had been severely overfilled with oil--far beyond the acceptable range. This caused oil saturation and complete engine failure. The car is now undrivable, with over $10,000 in damage. I contacted the manager Daniel at this location and provided photos from the mechanic. I also offered to allow Jiffy Lube representatives to inspect the vehicle in person which is 5 min away from them. This was refused. Instead, the manager insisted their internal process was followed and claimed they have video footage, despite the clear mechanical evidence showing improper service. The condition of the vehicle directly contradicts their claims. Let me break it to you Daniel showing the customer the dip stick with oil level doesn't mean u did nothing wrong. This situation resulted in: * A dangerous roadside emergency * Total loss of use of my vehicle * Significant financial loss * Major inconvenience and stress Based on this experience and the lack of accountability afterward, I cannot recommend this location. A basic oil change should never result in total engine failure. read more

Stopped in on Black Friday after my local Jiffy Lube told me they were out of the kind of oil my car normally takes. Went back and forth between the floor and the office looking for someone who could help. Finally an attendant asked me to get off the floor and wait in the office. I did, but he never showed up. Finally went back out to the floor and the same guy asked me to go back in the office. When he finally showed up he complained that he was the only one there (he wasn't--I saw at least two other people). It was just an unpleasant and confrontational interaction with no ownership or courtesy. On July 24, 2025, I took my vehicle in for an oil change. When I arrived, Ryan asked me to wait in the customer lounge. Soon thereafter, he told me that the lights inside my vehicle were flickering, probably due to the battery. I told Ryan that was strange since that had never happened before. He insisted on checking the battery. He came back and claimed that the battery was at 84%. I told him that I only wanted an oil change and was uncomfortable with him inspecting my vehicle for other purposes. Ryan told me that a thorough inspection was standard procedure. I had the oil changed, paid and left. Subsequently, my vehicle began to hesitate starting. It got progressively worse and on September 20, 2025, my vehicle wouldn't start. Prior to taking my vehicle to Jiffy Lube, I had my car serviced at a Honda service center a month earlier in June 2025. (see invoice) It was noted that the battery was in good condition. Once my vehicle wouldn't start, I took it to the Honda service center where it was determined that the battery was dead. The mechanic showed me the battery. (see photo) He told me that the stickers had been removed and that the battery was too small for my vehicle. He said that my original Honda battery was removed and a faulty battery was installed. I ended up needing a new battery and had it installed for $260.00. (see the invoice noting that the battery was bad!) It's troubling that this Jiffy Lube location would engage in unethical practices. Called into get a quote for back rotors the guy didn't even ask me what is the year make and model of my car he just gave me a flat out $500 rate just for back rotors only He didn't care about helping a customer all he wanted to do was over charge me as I am a woman. I went here because it was the closest oil change place to me, and I really needed to get my car done. I know nothing about cars so I was hesitant, but upon arrival I felt welcomed by the staff.
