Overall, a very disappointing experience. Customers should be informed clearly before being charged. This felt misleading and poorly managed, and I will not be returning.

But If there is a safety concern like brakes. They will try to hold your car hostage and won't release it. They told me i needed new brakes and the price was way too high. So i told them that i couldn't fit that into my budget and choose not to go with them. So they then told me they would not release my car because it's a safety concern. Which it wasn't because the brakes still had a few months left on them. Either way my normal mechanic is about half the price. So i wanted to take it to him. I was only at Meineke for the cheap oil change they advertised. They wouldn't let me leave and tried keeping my keys, but i had a spare set in my pocket . So i jumped into my car and told them i would drive right through their bay door and said it will cost them a new door. Finally the owner or boss said he would let my car go, but they were not going to be responsible and that they warned me about the brakes. I told them i would never be back because they were sneaky and they charge way to much. He didn't seem to care.

When I brought it to their attention, I was immediately told it couldn't have been caused by their work. On top of that, I was quoted a significant amount for a repair that turned out to be completely unnecessary. When I contacted the shop again to discuss the situation, their response was simply, "Thanks for letting us know." That was their entire response. No investigation, no concern, no accountability, and absolutely no attempt to make things right. It's unacceptable to dismiss a customer's concerns without properly looking into them, especially when there are legitimate questions about damage caused during a service visit. What's even more frustrating is being told something couldn't have happened under their care. I expected professionalism and a willingness to address the situation. Instead, I got denial, an unnecessary repair quote, and a dismissive response when I followed up. The way a business handles a problem says far more about it than how it treats you when everything goes smoothly. In this case, the lack of accountability and complete indifference were incredibly telling and very disappointing. Based on this experience, I would have serious reservations about trusting this shop with my vehicle again.
