Came in with a clean care and left with dirty oil smears covering my car interior -- jiffy lube oil covered fingerprints all over steering wheel, door handle, driver side arm rest, and more. It's not a surprise this place has so many bad reviews... I made the mistake of doing an oil change here on my truck. Long story short, they installed the oil filter incorrectly which caused an oil leak. Of course I didn't realize this until I parked in my driveway and saw the big puddle of oil the next morning. I then had to take the truck to the dealer for them to fix it -- which cost an extra $150 -- and now I have to deal with a huge oil stain on my driveway which is also not going to be cheap or easy to fix... Don't trust your vehicle to these guys, they will mess it up. read more

I have a 2024 Honda Civic Sedan, less that two months old and approximately 1200 miles on it. I only went to Jiffy Lube in Lafayette, CA because they were listed as one of the Lyft Car Inspection stations. The cost was $50.00 and my car passed with no problems. The problem is, that they raised the hood (which they did not need to for a Lyft Inspection), removed the oil cap and laid it on top of the engine. I heard someone say "why do you have the hood up?" This is only a Lyft Inspection. So the guy put the hood down and I drove away not knowing my car was leaking oil everywhere. II drove the car approximately 60 miles at 70 miles per hour to Oakley, CA. A client is the one that noticed the leak and mentioned it. I opened the hood and it was obvious what had happened. There was oil all over the engine, the undercarriage, dripping down the inside of engine and all over hood, side of car, the glove box had oil in it and on papers. Oh, NO OIL ON THE DIP STICK. had oil delivered to me and it took 2 quarts costing me $35.00, plus numerous hours cleaning the oil using the car wash, hand wash, $15.00 at the car wash (no receipt) and taking it too Honda where is has cost me out of pocket so far over $700.00, luckily it didn't blow the brand new engine. Jiffy lube attempted to clean it up in house but they just don't have the time or expertise to detail my car and replace the damaged parts known so far. It has cost me waiting for Jiffy Lube to clean up their mess, approximately 4 hours. So far, I have done no Lyft rides because i have been cleaning this oil mess up since August 23, 2024. There is still a smell of oil even after Honda replaced the air filters, and the padding under the hood for heat. They provided a loaner since my car was in their shop for 5 days. I paid $38k for my new car two months ago and now it is destroyed from oil cap left off. THIS IS NEGLIGENCE. SAVE YOUR MONEY, STAY AWAY FROM JIFFY LUBE LAFAYETTE, CA. MY BRAND NEW CAR SMELLS LIKE OIL, HAS OIL RESIDUE ALL OVER EVERYTHING UNDER THE CAR, ON THE ENGINE, AND INSIDE THE CAR. AND I AM PISSED. I'M CALLING LEGAL AID. I usually go to jiffy lube for oil changes and never had an issue. However, I went to jiffy lube today to see if they could check my brakes. While I was in the waiting area, one of the staff was about to let me know whether or not my brakes needed to be changed, and I heard a few of the men say "Wait wait don't tell her anything yet" "Don't tell her nothing about that!!". Already I had a feeling that they were going to try and pull one over me. They said they needed to take my wheels off to check my brakes, but I never saw them do it. They also didn't explain why I needed all my brake pads to be fixed AND all 4 rotors to be replaced. They couldn't even show me my brake pads and insisted I needed to do a brake fluid exchange and somehow was able to come to this entire conclusion in less than 5 minutes and gave me a quote of $900!!!! My car is a 2012 Toyota Camry with 70,000 miles on it and has been well maintained. I asked them if they really believed I needed all of these things fixed and they insisted. My gut told me they were dishonest, and I ended up being correct. Instead, I went to Service Outlet across the street, and they actually told me how many customers they've received due to horrible customer service at this Jiffy Lube location. If you have a Japanese car, go to Service Outlet instead where they won't screw you over! Service Outlet quoted me for 50% LESS than what Jiffy Lube quoted me and the mechanics are honest and kind and aren't here to take your money. read more

People have given it bad reviews but I went and they were fine. The oil change was done in a fair amount of time. The guys there seemed happy to be working there. They had good attitudes although one did not like wearing his mask and the other guy was on him for that. I get it. It was a hot day and I am sick of masks also but you got to follow the rules. Be careful with the service. This is the 2nd time this year that they conveniently "forgot" to replace the oil filter, while the whole time I was watching. This time, when confronted, they lied about it, and decided to take me down the pit area to look for the used filter. Of course it was not found. Then they reluctantly change it out. The guy who led me down the pit never looked at me directly again. But yet, they have time to take out my air filter and Cabin filter to try to charge me more. I was offered a $20off by the Manager, Mathew. But guess what...I had a $20 coupon. I was offered no apology, no sorry this 2nd time. Not sure who trained these guys. Unprofessional! Sad. read more

Do not go here!!! I rarely write negative reviews because i don't like hurting peoples employment. Despite several bad experiences at the jiffy lube in lafayette, i was desperate and brought my car in for an oil change. We were leaving to go to Southern California and car tech (who is great!) could not take me. First they left the keys in my car and the battery died. They got the battery recharged and I had to drive the car around for 30 minutes to charge on a very busy work day. Then on July 3rd, we left for Southern California. As soon as we got off the 680, we felt and heard a dragging like something was stuck under my car. It was the skid plate, which jiffy lube did not secure properly . We took the car back to jiffy lube and 45 minutes later we attempted to leave again. Then it happened again on the freeway, dragging skid plate. We drove all the way back to jiffy lube again. This time they secured and put on zip ties. We were concerned about relying on the zip ties but has already lost almost 2 hours. We are now heading home back to Northern California. We were on the i-5 past the grapevine and the dragging Happened almost creating us to swerve into another car. There were no services and my boyfriend had to get under my car in 113 degree heat and remove the plate with a pair of scissors creating another hour delay . The plate is damaged so will need a new one as i return to work after vacation and now have to incur the expense and inconvenience of getting this fixed. I'm also driving on the i-5 with no plate so hopefully nothing will happen as we return . Jiffy lube will not let you comment on their Facebook page. I posted on my own Facebook and people are commenting that this also happened to them . I'm going to try to get a refund and have them pay to get a new skid plate. Go to car tech or one of the other many options. This place should be closed for good or get new ownership. I have gone here many times and it is always a bit of a frustrating experience but they get the job done. My review today is to express my concern that both staff and customers were not wearing masks consistently in the waiting area, which was concerning given that we are in a COVID surge. I ended up standing outside in the rain to avoid possible exposure. Also they finished my car but made me wait about 25 additional minutes for a staff member to be available to ring me up. Also a bad practice that caused a bottleneck of customers when supposedly they have a social distancing policy. read more

Wish they had (-) stars on Yelp! All, 4 individuals on the day I went it had clearly no mechanical skills, my sisters car has a under car cover to minimize sound. They removed the front cover but left the second cover under the oil drain plug so it filled the under cover shield with 6 quarts of dirty used oil. She can no longer park in a driveway or garage without leaking oil from the foam sound proofing under body cover. I would say you get what you pay for but this was close to the dealership price, I went because it was in Lafayette close to home. read more

Took my car here about a week ago for standard oil change before a long trip. Yesterday, we find that oil is all over our garage and driveway. Instead of taking it back, we took it to our dealership. They just called us saying the filter wasn't properly placed and they have to give us a whole new oil change. We are down to only 20% oil left after only 1 week. Our dealership's exact words were "wherever you took this to get it done originally, we would suggest you don't go back there again." These guys at this JL location clearly don't care about how to do a job correctly. Side note: our dealership charges almost the same for standard oil change as jiffy lube did. read more

If you like being ripped off, Jiffy Lube in Lafayette is the place to go. I took my Rav4 in and ended up paying $225 for an oil change. First, they charged me $12.00 a quart for the Pennzoil OW20 oil they used ($5.99 Ace Hardware) plus $51.79 to put it in. They then told me my Air Filter and Cabin Air Filter needed replacing. The Air Filter was $34.99 (which I found on Amazon for $13.00) and the Cabin Air Filter was a whopping $59.99 (which I also found on Amazon for $11.00!!). I had a $10 coupon which the service tech said he would replace with a better $16.00 discount coupon. When I got home and reviewed the bill, there was no discount applied. My fault. I was busy on a business call and trusted they were a reputable outfit. I've learned my lesson. The only thing lubed up at Jiffy Lube is the customer. Never again. I'm going back to Big O Tires which I didn't use because they were a week out for appointments. It cost me an extra $100 to experience my Jiffy Lube job. read more

When I drove to the entrance there was a car in front of me. After waiting 5 minutes the car pull backwards and then left through the entrance, which I thought was weird but hey that means I'm next in line, I drive right up to the garage and one of the workers pointed to me where exactly I should stop, but never greeted me at my window. At all. I saw people working on the cars in the garage but they were walking so slow and their body language looked like they did not want to be there. I waited for 20 minutes and still no one greeted me at my window asking what I was coming in for. They definitely knew I was there but never came to me. So I waited another 5 minutes and still nothing. And like the car that was in front of me I pulled back and left through the entrance and went to the Walnut Creek location and was immediately greeted and given the customer service that I usually get from jiffy lube. I hope someone higher up from the Lafayette location knows or recognizes that the people who were working on Sunday July 25th 2021 did not want to be there and lost two customers, at least that I'm aware of, because of what seemed like a lack of care or urgency for a customer driving up to their location read more

Cranked my oil filter bolt way too tight. Did not use the right amount of torque when replacing the filter last. One of the kids there started and stopped my car multiple times presumably because the exhaust is load on startup. Would not go back, have had a better experience at Valvoline. Way faster, don't have to get out of the car, and service that is much more professional. read more

Come in for an oil change and brake flush, took 30 minutes just to get checked in, Willie told me, " we'll have it done in 30 minutes or so.." They looked busy so I came back in 90. All done I asked? "Yep but we couldn't do the brake flush because we are to busy. " I asked why he didn't call me to tell me that do I could make other plans? He said, "it's not our policy to call you, you bring car in and we do what we can, that's it...." DO NOT GO HERE!!! After multiple bad experiences we quit coming to this business. Quality control is nonexistent. Every time the car leaked oil, the oil seemed still dirty, and/or the engine oil change light wasn't reset. Last week our son was borrowing our car and saw the light come on. He kindly took it upon himself to take it to get the oil changed, and no longer being a regular in the area didn't know better. Of course, long streams of oil appeared in our garage and driveway plus the oil change reset was still on. (JL had told son that they couldn't reset it, and it's one of the most common cars in the area.) We ended up paying a real mechanic elsewhere $177 to clean all the oil off the inside of the engine of our car and change the oil and filter again. Wish I could give them negative stars. There are many good shops in the area, give these guys a pass. read more

This has always been my Jiffy Lube stations of choice, but not anymore. Not sure what changes occurred, but I will need to go to a different Jiffy Lube for better all-around service. I went in on a Saturday afternoon. Only 2 other people in the waiting area so I thought I would be out in 30 minutes since I was just getting an oil change. I was wrong and not even sure how long the other people who came in after me stayed. When I left, about 45 minutes later, there were about 5 people in the waiting area. First, they do things differently in checking people in. It used to be once you pulled in you would be checked in. This time the place assumed I had been there before and that the person driving the car is the person on-file in their computer. They also checked me in after they pulled my car into the service dock with the check-out computer inside the office. The person helping me was pleasant enough, but I don't think there were enough people on-staff to assist. I counted at least 3 people - person in the service bay doing the oil changes et al., one person doing something else, and the customer service person who was also doing little things in the service bay. Because of this people weren't being checked-in until Jiffy Lube was ready to service their car. Due to trying to hurry, upon check-out the customer service person did not go over the inspection with me. Nor did I see my filter, so hopefully it wasn't dirty. I had to ask the person if the tire's were inflated, did I get all my fluids topped off, etc. The front seats weren't even vacuumed and the floor mat paper was left in the car. I also had to go back in after payment because they forgot to give me my car key back. I don't fault the people working there. However, on a Saturday, the station owners should have more people on-site servicing and perhaps additional training is needed on how to speak with the customers as other Jiffy Lube stations do. I was hoping that this was just an off-day, but after reading the reviews, I don't think so. On the positive side I did get a check-in discount though the code didn't work. I'll still go to Jiffy Lube, but will not come back to this Lafayette station again. Thank goodness there are other Jiffy Lube's in the area. read more

Came in yesterday for a simple service and was greeted by Joshua, the new manager. After reading all of the poor reviews, i must admit that i was hesitant to stop in here. I am glad i did! I recieved fast and friendly service, was explained a few recommendations for my vehicle that he noticed (while also pointing them out for me to see so i could understand too) and i ended up adding a few of his recommendations! I felt comfortable with the interaction and appreciated his communication and friendly attitude. The experience was professional and stress free. No issues. Ill definitely be back! read more

Was asked to drive into bay which I did, then the guy disappeared. I got out and tripped over platform then was admonished for getting out of my car due to COVID. No one told me to stay in my car. No one asked me what service I wanted. Manager finally came over and took my order. Told to stay in car even though it was 90 degrees outside. I got out anyway and waited. I was charged $30 more than usual- no estimate given. Gave them my $15off coupon which they forgot to credit. Asked them to refund the 15 which they said they couldn't do. Joshua apologized and said he'd give me $30 off next oil change. No paperwork or anyway to verify this future discount. Terrible service COVID or not! read more
