I had a horrible flat-tire experience on the freeway the evening before my visit to Big O. After one attempt by AAA to get the spare on, the second AAA tech was finally successful. I showed up bright and early the next day at Big O in Lafayette and the service desk could not have been nicer. They quickly checked out my blown tire and told me I needed a new one. I had purchased my tires at their shop, but the model had since been discontinued. They searched every Big O shop and found one in Reno, NV. It arrived the very next day. They put on the new tire and performed a few other maintenance tasks I requested. DONE! What a relief. Got a warning signal on my car that the air pressure was low on one of my tires just as we were leaving town. Found this place close by and drove in. I could not believe my good luck. They quickly found a nail in the tire, fixed the tire, checked all the other ones, barely charged me anything, and we were on our way. I will bring my business here whenever I can. Had a nail in my tire that just needed removal and patching if necessary since it didn't puncture fully, but I was told that the nail was in a spot that couldn't be patched correctly and that the tired needed to be replaced fully. Was quoted $137. I decided hell no, went down the street at Ace Auto Care afterwards and they took it out, assessed and treated it for free. What a scam! read more

Came in for my free rotation and balance. Left 45 minutes later with the steering wheel vibrating at highway speeds and the car pulling right. I called the store and asked if they balanced the tires and what was done. They were unsure if the tires were balanced but told me we balance every tire. Another call placed saying I'm coming back yielded to them stating they only balanced the front wheels. They said the tire had spun on the wheel and is what caused the pull. Car pulls to the right and they want me to pay them to work on it. read more

First time ever going in this place. I needed two front tires and a alignment. Quoted me with 170 dollars per tire for 340.00 plus alignment total cost 650 dollars. ?? I told the rep. I wanted the cheapo 108 dollar tires. Said it would take a couple of days to get those. You are in tire business are you not? So I said; How much for just the alignment? Oh, I do not think our equipment will fit your rims. Not good business... I can do the job myself and get tires for around 100 dollars apiece. I wouldn't of minded to pay a little extra for just not having to do it myself. My recommendation is to stay away from this place. Gouging is happening there. read more

Omg got this crazy piece of metal in my tire today and luckily it wasn't any traffic and I was able to exit in Lafayette ... looked up big o and boom there it was. I came into the place and met Ryan ... he asked what's up and I told him he was immediately nice and said let's go check it out! Went out there and this metal was stuck in there. He did let me know not sure what we can do but we will give it a try..... 45 mins later he says it doesn't seem to be leaking air at this time so you should be good. I was planning on a new tire without 3 months or so but they got me right and done. *pause* I set around inside and everyone there sounds happy to do they job. They give you the full breakdown of whatever you need and why from My hearing. They value giving people options and explaining which one is best for them and why. No fluff just truth I respect that more. I was over here stressing out tryna put my Penny's together ready to drive slowly to a tire shop and he said hey man keep an eye on it but it's holding air currently. Omg never been so happy to pay and when he told me the price I was like whaaaat you lying I got you man. So i went in for a simple alignment but my Jeep had other ideas. These dudes tried to get it tracking straight for several hours with no luck. I went home with no charge. Came back several days later to try again and this time another guy was able to get it straightened out apparently my tires were worn funky and was making it a problem. AGAIN no charge. I will be purchasing my next set of tires from this shop just because they bent over backward to fix my problem. read more

I came to Big O Tires with an appointment because of a screw in one of my tires. To make the visit worthwhile, I asked the employee who checked me in if they could also do a tire rotation (last time i did a rotation was for sure more than 5k miles ago, so i knew i was due for one), and he agreed. I waited outside and was later told my car was ready. When I was quoted $40, I asked if that price included the rotation. At that point, a different employee was helping me and said no rotation had been done and that there was no record of that request. The original employee then came back, and I told him that I asked for both a patch and a rotation. Instead of addressing the issue directly, he brushed it off and said something along the lines of, "Let me check the tires and see if you even need a rotation." He checked only one tire, came back, and told me I didn't need a rotation (seems like he just did not want to deal with it/ do the service I requeated). read more

I bought tires there a year ago and was told to come back for a free tire rotation. My tires were losing air and I made an appointment for the tire rotation. Immediately got an appointment and when I got there told the person checking me in about the tire pressure issue. He said they would check that out and it would take about an hour. I waited in a very nice area with comfy chairs and free coffee. In about 45 minutes, I was told my car was ready. The service rep told me there was a nail in my front right tire which they fixed and rotated my tires...all for NO CHARGE!! Great people and great service. My tire was losing pressure over two or three days. Drove to Big O without an appointment and they were able to fit me in to check the cause of tire deflating. There was a mail in the side wall of tire. They had to order the tire replacement from factory inventory since the manufacturer no longer makes the tire. Car was driveable and had to wait for tire to be shipped and received. Big o got the tire and was able to get in me the same to complete installation. Kudos to big o. I had such a great experience here. I am a college aged girl and usually feel that I am being ripped off going to car mechanics. I needed a last minute tire rotation before I go for a long drive this weekend and the friendly staff was able to fit me in today. Big 0 sent me a coupon for a "free tire rotation." I had a new car & so could not get the free rotation they offer with new tires. I had paid $40 at my local service station for rotation before & so thought the longer drive to Big O had value. When I got to Big O they wrote me up for a $40 tire rotation. When I told them I had a coupon for free rotation, they said they give a free rotation to anybody, but balancing the front tires costs $40 and is not included in the coupon. Essentially, the coupon was worthless and just a con to get me in the store. read more

Update. Big O Just called me and said they did not take off the lug nut. I explained to them that if that is true, then they didn't put it on correctly when they did my brakes last August. I've had no rotations or other wheel work done since then. Check the Carfax. You also claimed I was rude to your employee, and I asked what I said that he considered rude as I didn't remember it. Your response was to start talking over me and then hanging up on me. I'm not really surprised at your response considering what my wife told me about her experience being berated and talked down to when getting her tires. I don't think you are the owner of the franchise, but I bet he would want to have much better customer relations than what has been occurring. I solved my problem for $24 by buying an entire new set of locking lug nuts on Amazon. read more

We've been buying our tires here since we moved to Rossmoor in 2011. Very happy with the service and the speed which they can take us in. This time it was an unscheduled flat tire on a Friday late afternoon - my fault running into a curb at the wrong angle (Is there a right way to run into a curb? ) We only recently became a one-car family, so I wasn't sure how to proceed; I called Big O while I was waiting for AAA. and talked to Ryan and he came up with an immediate solution with a couple of alternatives, which I really appreciated. AAA put the compact spare on, the car was drivable for short trips, so I dropped the wheel off at Big O just before they closed for the day, but was told Sat was booked up for putting it back on the car - but Ryan again to the rescue. He took the time to look at the Saturday appointments, and said he could fit me in first thing in the morning, so I arrived at 8:15, and had my new tire on the wheel and the wheel back on the car within a half hour! The staff here are not always friendly. I took my truck in to get aligned, and it came back with the steering wheel still not pointing straight when I drive. So I turned around and came back and told them. They told me I had to wait for other cars to be worked on before they would fix mine. They took it in and worked on it but then it was still crooked. I drove it like this for a few weeks. Emailed the manager who didn't reply. So I called and made another appointment to get it fixed. Then they tried to label it as the warranty fix. I got the package that allows for 1 re-alignment within 6 months. I had to insist 3 times that they print out a new invoice that didn't list this as the re-alignment because I wanted the chance to bring it back in 6 months. They finally got the steering wheel fixed but it was frustrating the amount of time I wasted at this place and dealing with rude staff members. I wouldn't come back. read more
