I've been coming to the Jiffy Lube on Shepherd for years and it has always been a dependable spot for quick service. I always use a coupon, and I like that they keep track of your service history and recommended maintenance even if you visit other Jiffy Lube locations. In the past, I would go inside to relax while they worked, but now they give you the option to stay in your car if you prefer. One change I have noticed in the last year is that they no longer vacuum your car, which is a big bummer. That small touch used to make a huge difference in how clean your car felt after service. I stopped by Jiffy Lube today for an inspection and oil change. Upon arrival, the first employee told me to pull into the bay, which I did. Almost immediately, an overweight angry man at the end of the bay began yelling at me, followed by the same employee who had instructed me to pull in. Their tone was completely disrespectful. After a few minutes of this, the manager came out, and I told him we were done. I was there for about five minutes total, but I will never give my business to a shop that thinks yelling at customers as if they are children is acceptable. I was told an emissions test would take 15-20 min. I waited over an hour with three customers who came after me for emissions tests leaving before me. Whenever I would ask the status they would say they are checking and go back to the garage without providing me any real update. I came here since there was a 45 min wait where I normally go but clearly this was a mistake. read more

I think they changed ownership in the last year because it looks like all new employees and its gone way downhill. They are slow (was told 30min wait and it ended up being over 90min), not good at their job (they left filter parts on the passenger floor and didn't put everything back) and trying to upsell for things I didn't want and didn't authorize them to even look at (I only went in for an emissions test, they shouldn't have been looking at my filter to begun with). I went back and showed them what wasnt put back correctly. First employee just put the filter back and said the other covers were "already like that". I asked a second employee if it was normal to check an AC filter/glove compartment during an emissions test, and he said yes. Which I guess is only true if they are trying to upsell their customers. If you are gonna try and upset a customer, at least dont put everything back in place. Never going back here again. read more

These folks ROCK!! I had such a great experience today, that I had to write. I came in expecting to just do a synthetic oil change. I got a new vehicle about a year and a half ago, up in miles, but still drivable. A very nice service technician advised me that two air filters were in need of replacing, in addition to my oil being serviced. Jiffy Lube had a $25-off coupon, but I also asked about other discounts. To make a long story short, there were other discounts applied, and that shaved over $50 off my bill. I had expected to spend around $80 but wound up getting far more maintenance performed for a little over 3x the price. And they were very, very nice. I've been coming to Jiffy Lube for many years - they have kept my last three vehicles running, one for over 270,000 miles over a 13-year period, from my driving it off the lot until I traded it in. Came in for a simple state inspection. They ended up trying to convince me that I needed 100s of dollars worth of repairs and showed me a cabin air filter that was obviously not mine. I'll start with why I never go back to Jiffy Lube after being a loyal customer for years.I received a $26 coupon and figured how bad could it be to get an oil change?I found out.It started fine with a very pleasant guy directing me to stop in Bay 1.He asked if I wanted to wait in the car or go inside.I chose to wait inside.At least 25 minutes passed before a young lady went over what she suggested I'd need.I waited almost an hour for the work to be completed when the same person came back in and mumbled "Dodge"..no eye contact,no "we've got you ready.nothing.Then the credit card machine wouldn't function as I stood there with nothing back from her.The guy who originally greeted me came and he couldn't fix it either so he gave her an ipad to charge my card.I asked her to see my receipt so I could review what was done and what I was charged.Evidently that wasn't possible.What?..It escalated from there and needless to say as I explained that in previous visits the attendant would review what they had done..I never did get to finish that statement as she continued to interrupt me.How this person was responsible for taking payment with no review of work performed is unacceptable.I should never have gone there in the first place.Lot's of options for something a simple as an Oil Change read more

The attendants here looked like they hated being there. Everyone was rude except for one worker. They took people who came after me first. They also charged me $180 (with a "discount") for an oil change. I never paid that much at Valvoline. I've been going to Valvoline for years but decided to try Jiffy Lube because it was close by. Quick and average. I went for an inspection, and that failed. I requested a location where I can fix the issue, and the lead gave me a location nearby. Although the suggested location was too expensive, it was helpful. When I returned within fifteen days, they did not charge for the reinspection, graciously. Not to be confused with Jizzy Lube, which is basically when a man uses his own... to moisturize... never mind, I don't need to explain. This is a friendly Jiffy Lube on Shepherd which definitely gets the job done. In fact they're one of the friendlier locations of this chain, and one which we've come to for oil changes on a number of occasions so far. It's right around the corner from where we live so it makes it quick and easy, and it only loses the one star because it's a chain. Of course Shepherd is a nightmare, more so than most streets in Houston, but that's not this JL's fault. read more

I've visited here a few times with a couple different cars, Japanese and European but they seem to overcharge when you bring in European cars. Not only do they charge you an upcharge now, they also charge extra for the oil, and charge extra for a top off of antifreeze. Many other oil change places do this for free and they used to as well. They top off during oil change intervals for free, but not during the actual oil change process. read more

Then they messed up my air suspension and had get drive it to the nearest Audi dealership. I would not recommend this place at all or watch your car the entire time they are working on it. read more

I took my car in for an oil change and one of the employees was extremely rude and confrontational with me for not rolling my window down fast enough (you have to roll it down manually--old car). "Am I going to talk to your window?" He sarcastically yelled at me. Anyway, I retorted and called him out for being rude, and he walked off cursing loudly at me. I'm a young girl and I didn't feel safe at that point. I wanted to give it a 1 star review but I called the manager and he was super attentive and said he would fix it right away. This location is simply the best for essential auto maintenance. I made the mistake of taking my car to Pep Boys on Greenbriar next to my house because I didn't know this Jiffy Lube location sold and installed batteries. Pep Boys told me that my car had "no oil" and that I needed an oil change immediately. That seemed weird because I had an oil change a few months prior, and I could see oil on my dipstick. I took my car over to this Jiffy Lube and explained the situation. They took a look right away with no problem! Pep Boys lied-They were just trying to scam me into paying for an oil change. The employees at Jiffy Lube joked about me cheating on them and sent me on my way. I will never take my car anywhere else after this experience. I've been going to this location for over 10 years and most recently I needed to get a vehicle inspection and they told me I needed new brakes and that my vehicle failed the inspection. I told them that my vehicle just got new brakes two years prior and only had 30,000 miles on them. I took my vehicle to a mechanic and they said I had 75% brake pad left all around and that the rotors looked great. They based their claim on needing new brakes because they squeak. I arrived about 10 min. earlier than open time and the workers greater me say they walked into the building. They told me they would open in a few minutes. I waiting in the parking in the back and right at 8 a technician came to get me to service my car. I brought my own oil and filter and the technician told me right up front how much it was going to be, which was nice. I asked him to use my oil and filter and I also asked him to show me the old filter as well as put a sticker for the next 5k miles. The gentleman came up and showed me the old filter and it was bad. He explained that the oil was clumpy now and time for a change. He was very helpful and descriptive when he showed me what was wro I had an $15 coupon I got from their website. I presented it at the time to pay and but they didn't accept it. He did however give me a 20% discount. Will be coming back. read more
