(Holy cow, I just realized that I've had a draft of this review sitting unfinished for over 2.5…read moreyears. I'm a terrible Yelper. Anyway, better late than never...) So after an unfortunate meeting with a large piece of metal on a rural road, I rolled my poor Nissan Sentra over to the only auto repair place in Freeport that I knew about (thanks to its distinction as the "best repair shop in town," according to a local newspaper survey). Even though I hobbled in just minutes before closing time, they took their time to check out the damage and then gave me a quick assessment of the situation (which ended up with a gathering of employees staring at the underside of my car in amazement that something could have done so much destruction without resulting in a complete breakdown (or an explosion (seriously))). Ultimately, my auto was toast, and it couldn't be put back on the road without significant work. Dave, the owner, stuck around to help me figure out a rental car, and then actually offered to drop me off on his way home! I don't want to make it sound like this should be expected as standard practice, but this level of customer service -- even in a rare exceptional situation -- is pretty much unheard of. All in all, the work that they did was perfect, they went the extra mile personally and professionally, and I'm still happily chugging along 60,000-or-so miles later. I'm going to need some more work done again soon, and it's too bad that I wasn't able to take the Auto Repair Specialists with me when I moved back to the Chicago burbs.

Dave and his crew always do a great job. Friendly people and a comfortable waiting room. I would…read morerecommend ARS.

I got my truck from them back in June. Paid the 2k down no big deal. I called to setup an appointment which to no avail had to be rescheduled due to scheduling complications which I understood. Now I'm being told if I want my truck fixed forced to pay for all the parts out of pocket and they'll finance the labor on my bill. Which need I say should've been covered on my limited warranty through them. I'm very disappointed because they're so much better than the previous dealership I tried going through but I'm at a loss for words here. I got a vehicle on payments because I couldn't afford this kinda of stuff... moral of the story... please he careful when getting something here if you don't have the funds to fix it out of warranty.

He sells you broken cars that have miles…read moreleft to live, if they're is already problems with the vehicle when you get it and you do not know until you've had it for a week you are fully responsible for all the damages even though you weren't the one to break the vehicle and be the reason the vehicle has problems.. they do not fix there vehicles. Completely lazy and a waste of time and money. If your looking for a car and are already struggling enough with the pandemic and living in bidens America, DO not I repeat DO NOT come here. Fair warning!!! Do NOY buy a used vehicle from Freeport Ford unless you're looking for a LEMON!!…read moreWe were sold a 2020 Ford Escape and within the first 2 weeks the rear differential goes OUT!! Followed by the computer screen getting hot as FIRE and GLITCHED and could not be used for three days. Took it back to the service department and after being there for about a week, they found NOTHING wrong with it!! Then another week or two goes by and the LEMON starts jumping down the road. Take it back in and there were three plugs that were bad AND the ignition coil was also out and this all occurred within in a two month period of time. The vehicle spent a total of 30 days in the service department, and I felt that they owed us a car payment since they had it for month!!! So at this point, Andrew, the owner's son tells us "don't worry, if anything else goes wrong we'll put you into another vehicle". Well the last week of April 2026 the car started randomly turning off at red lights, and a message would pop up telling you to put the car in park and restart it, like seriously?¿!¡ This ALL occurred in approximately a two and a half month period. Well I spoke to Andrew, whom by the way is the owner's Son. He said he had never heard anything like the last issue but said don't worry, if anything else occurs he'd get us into another vehicle. Well my husband and I figured that they'd find something similar and get us into it. Not exactly true!! They had a 2019 (year older than the they sold us), granted it had 25K miles on it but the we have is a year newer with 50K miles and here's the kicker, they were trying to say that the MSRP is 29,000, so for 10 grand more, ya they'd get us into something else. What an absolute joke. So here we sit with a humongous and there's not a damned thing we can do about it!!! THANKS A LOT FREEPORT FORD!!!! Buyer beware when purchasing a used car from them and do yourself a favor, read all the negative reviews from different review sites. Trust me you'll be glad that you didn't buy a lemon from there and bought a vehicle from a more reputable dealership and didn't get a JUNKER from FREEPORT FORD!!!!!
