This is in response to the owner of Jiffy Cleans's response to my comments: Dear Ms. Joni B, I was promised the clothes would be ready at a certain date and time and they weren't, period. If I received an abject apology then I'd still be mad but would not have loudly complained like when I was greeted by the "short of help" so called excuse. You then commented that your employee said she offered to have them ready in 30 minutes. She did but we were busy and did not want to wait around and opted to come back that afternoon. When we came back that afternoon she said she never should have promised they'd by ready Monday at 4 because she hadn't examined the clothes and when she finally did she realized they had to be washed, not dry cleaned. So if we opted to accept her promise to have them ready in 30 minutes and we came back in 30 minutes she would have had to say again the weren't ready because they had to be washed!!!!! Seems like this company destroys a lot of people's possessions--- same here--- brought a brand new all white goose down comforter to this place. They returned to me all brown stained , frayed, and had a blood stained on it---- now this was brand new in the bag. The manager, Joan, insisted it was mine and said all she could was clean it again. She was a RUDE, NASTY, CONDESCENDING, DISREPECTFUL THING ( won't even call her a person). This has been going on for a year and half at least. The company calls me every 4 months and tells me they have my comforter and when I get there they pull out the same stained comforter-- NO ACCOUNTABILITY--- AND THE MANAGER-- all she does is antagonize the situation by offering the same solution, which is her solution. We were in Chatham for my sons wedding and they pressed two jackets for me on Thursday and then pressed my son's shirt on the wedding day while I waited. So friendly. Any bad reviews are BS. This happened a few years ago. I never complained to the business which is entirely my fault but I sensed I would not get anywhere. Still I feel I should warn people of my experience. I brought a very expensive wool blanket to Jiffy to be dry cleaned. When I picked it up, it was obvious it had been WASHED......not dry cleaned. It was rumbled and had shrunken. Ok, so first, I want you to look over at my avatar, click my name and observe that out of my 200+ reviews, only about 2% are one star. A business has to be really lousy for me to give one star, bcs when I rate a place low, I want everyone to know that I MEAN IT. Brought in a two-piece suit (jacket and skirt). It wasn't stained or anything, but I had worn it the day before, and with the summer heat I figured it could stand a freshening up. Also, the skirt is very pleated, and I can't iron it myself. Service dropping it off was fine, price was reasonable, and it was ready pretty quickly... I think two days later. Picked it up today. As I paid, I kind of noticed that the skirt didn't look ironed AT ALL. So, while walking out to my car with it, I took it out of the bag to investigate. At this point, I'm assuming it was just the way it was hanging that made it look off. But as I took it out, I immediately noticed the fabric felt weird. This is...sorry, WAS... a nice suit; I don't own a lot of suits, so when I buy one I go for quality. I don't know what the material was, but I definitely know what it felt like. It was smooth to the touch. Now, as I felt it, it felt rough, like someone had run a Brillo pad over it. People: I think these guys just put my damn clothes in the damn washer! Oh, and it was definitely not pressed. Last time I got this thing dry-cleaned (somewhere else, obviously), the pleats were ironed so sharp, the skirt practically stood up on its own. These pleats looked just as they did the day I dropped it off. So needless to say, I was disappointed. But we're still at two stars as this point bcs, like I said, you have to epically screw up for me to give one star. Then I noticed the zipper. At first it just looked like it wasn't zipped up all the way, which is obviously no big deal, but then I realized just below where the tab was, the zipper teeth were off the tracks! As in, the zipper was totally ruined! Well, I've almost never done stuff like this, but I walked back in and showed the girl. She went and got some woman (I'm guessing a manager?) who came and described how hidden zippers are very delicate and this happens all the time. Sure, fine. I'll buy that. Then she says that her tailor can try to fix it, but chances are it will break again since it's been compromised. Oh, that sucks. But fine, whatever. THEN SHE SAYS IT WILL COST $12. .......what? Is this psycho actually implying that I would pay for clothing they damaged?!??!? This is when the conversation turns ridiculous, as she insists the damage didn't happen at the dry cleaners. Let me provide a timeline in case you missed it: 1) I WORE the skirt. The zipper worked. 2) I took the skirt to the Jiffy dry cleaners, where they were the only human beings to touch the skirt since I wore it and the zipper worked. 3) The zipper now does not work. I suppose it's possible that this is an amazing coincidence. But to me, it sounds like this place ruined my skirt and.... what is a zillion times worse, won't even pay the $12 to try to fix it or give me money back. I even asked if they would do so "as a sign of good faith." Making it clear that even if they HONESTLY believe this wasn't their fault, that they would still do what is expected of a business serving customers. And I got a direct "no." Not even a wishy-washy, "Well, we'd love to but..." kind of thing. I got a direct no with no follow-up solutions. Luckily, I came up with my own solution. Never use Jiffy again! Also, let everyone who reads my reviews know that this place has no regard for customer service or quality. They did 5 garments for us in 45 minutes while we got lunch. The service was accommodating and friendly (Not Salty) compared to competition in the surrounding area. This is my first and only yelp review because I cannot believe the experience I have just had at this cleaner. This is the worst cleaners I have ever used. I brought a cashmere Theory coat here to have a simple button sewed on. When I received my coat back, the coat had completely shrunk to a size that was unwearable. They denied all responsibility and said it was impossible that they shrunk my coat. They are liars. The owner of this store even laughed at me. I have to preface that I have never written a review before, but I read them and have come to rely on them when I travel. We dropped 2 sweaters and a scarf off to this dry cleaners. 2 days later we picked up our items and 2 of the 3 were worse then when we dropped them off. They did not remove a moderate stain on the front part of the sweater even when pointed out ahead of time. But what is worse is that the sweater came back with an additional sticky bit on the arm and whatever process they used made the sweater, which has been worn 5 times and dry cleaned elsewhere once, look very worn. When I addressed this with the worker he gave me lots of attitude and did not attempt to try to solve the issue- on the contrary he was extremely unprofessional and acted like he had no responsibility for it. I gave some suggestions on what could be done but ultimately he stormed off without solving anything, The second issue is related to a beautiful wool Eileen Fisher scarf. The process they used ruined the fringe on the scarf, and the texture of it was altered, it was as if it had been put through a washing machine. Additionally it was not pressed I will drive further just to avoid this dry cleaners in the future. I highly recommend you do not use them if you care about your clothes. read more

We have been coming here for a year and have always been treated nice . They lost one of our orders but found it later not a big deal. Last week we dropped off a few shirts and pants and there was a girl who never waited on us before and she was the most rudest person we have ever dealt with there or any where. And yes we travel a lot and she was the worst. We didn't complain , just thought she was having a bad day . Today when I went to pick up the order she was waited on me again and this time it was even worse. The shirts was not boxes as they always are and it was in the computer last. I told her these should have been boxed and her response was to bad . I asked her to look at the other order we dropped off to make sure that they would be boxed . She looked and said we did not have another order and I said we did please look again. I hand her my credit card to pay for the ones I was taking and she said get your hand out of my face. My hand was no where near her face it was on the counter. She stormed off and said I will get the manger , instead she brought over a girl who waited on us for the shirts and she tried to blame us for the mistake . I told her I was not mad I just need them to find the other missing order. She did find it in the computer . Then the manger came over and said well you should have had it put I the computer that that is what you wanted. I explained to her that it has been for a year not sure what happened last time. She said well it's your fault and I told her I was not even mad over any of this except how I was being treated . We own our business and deal with customer all day and understand that they are not all ways right. But when you have a employee that has been rude to more than just us . I brought my very expensive suits here to get dry cleaned and they are now ruined. They inside lining of my jacked had a pattern and they must have used too much heat or something because it was completely just grey with no pattern anymore. I have a blue suit and the sleeves are now shinny because they must have pressed it with too much heat or something. I don't know what they did or if it has anything to do with heat but I do know my suits are ruined and I am never going back here. If you have nice things I would strongly suggest never going to this place because they will be ruined. read more

I washed my Carhart jacket for the first time and ended up with a lot of lint in the liner, jiffy said they could de pill it but when I picked it up most of the lint was still there plus 5 HOLES IN THE LINING!!!! Jiffy has been my cleaner for the past few years.. but not anymore! I went in yesterday to drop off an item and asked the associate to double check my account to make sure I didn't have anything needing to be picked up(I was almost positive the answer was no). The woman told me there was an item from 2014 that was not paid for... since it wasn't on the racks she went through my account and told me I took it and didn't pay for it(ugh who leaves the dry cleaners without paying for their stuff.. unless it's an error on their end?! The woman called another associate to explain to me the situation because 'I clearly was having issues understanding'.. the new woman told me the item was never picked up and they had called me/left messages after it had been sitting for 90 days( I had no calls or voicemails and told the associate). She then mentioned they had let someone go that was calling and not leaving messages regarding items that were not picked up. The first woman was going to charge me for an 'unpaid' item from over a YEAR ago, within two minutes the other associate basically said it was discarded... in any regard I WON'T BE BACK... It was suggested by a customer that I go to Jiffy cleaners as I was looking to get curtains hemmed. I go in on a Saturday and tell the girl behind the counter what I needed to get done. Her response..the person who does that is not here today. I said ok then can I leave them? She says no you can come back on Monday. She said she will need to check if she could do it. I said I work during the week and they are basic curtains bought at bed bath and beyond. She told me to come back. Now let me ask you...would it have been that difficult to take the curtains with my phone number and have the lady call me if she couldn't do them? NO! Clearly they are not about convenience. You literally risk your clothes if you take them here. They ruined a very good sweater of mine. Their response was IT'S THE RISK YOU RUN WHEN YOU HAVE CLOTHES DRY CLEANED. Jiffy is not inexpensive. I would rate the cost aspect at $$$ or $$$$. However, they do good work, and my shirts and suits (which is what they clean for me) are always available on time. Staff turnover seems extensive. Occasionally I have the pleasure of confronting a grump, but most are, if not friendly, at least tolerable. I have not found any dry cleaner in the Cape that offers the same quality for less, but if you have a lot of stuff and are cost sensitive, this is not the cleaner for you. The parking is a public lot and is free. Unfortunately Yelp has no such category so I had to select street, but the lot nearly always has spaces right in front. read more

The worst! Pricey and lack of customer service. Clothes came back wreaking of an overwhelming chemical odor. Their response was to bring everything back to be redone. When I questioned that would involve more chemicals she was rude and replied that " that's how we clean clothes, with chemicals"! Then she said that sometimes they bag clothes too soon...duh! Isn't it their job to know the process? She also said I could hang everything out to see if the odor went away! She was abrupt and demeaning. I was in Chatham, MA for a wedding. My bridesmaid gown got wrinkled on the flight. They took my dress Friday afternoon and made special arrangements for it to be steamed and ready for me to pick up Saturday am. Terrible, terrible customer service. Manager (Karen) was rude and unprofessional when I wasn't satisfied with the appearance of my dress after it was cleaned. I felt that the dress was only marginally better than when I dropped it off and , in addition, had a new ink stain. When I stated those things, Karen immediately became argumentative and spoke to me like I a child. She then turned to the employees in front of me and told them never to accept a dress with "stains like that" again. I can understand that there is only so much that can be done with some stains, but that wasn't the case with this dress. I had ignored warnings about this place previously for the sake of convenience but I won't be making that mistake again. I've had items cleaned here before without issue but terrible customer service when something does go wrong is enough to make me take my business elsewhere. read more
