I've been coming here for over 10 years since I was a kid and I really wish I hadn't. Every year they would tell me I had "cavities," and proceeded to give me a filling that would always leave me in pain for days, when my teeth never hurt in the first place. My sister had the same issue.
Fast forward, years later, I went back for a dental cleansing and the receptionist were super rude to me, saying I had not had a cleaning in 2 years and that I probably had cavities at this point. I explained that I had moved out of state for college and went to another dentist for my annual cleansing for those years, and apologized even though I didn't have to.
When it was my turn to get my teeth checked, the lady told me that I had a cavity on the RIGHT side of my mouth, even though nothing was hurting. They did not even let me see any of the x-ray photos, telling me I would not understand it anyways (I was 20 years old). The procedure didn't make sense because it seemed like they were performing on the LEFT side of my mouth. After the procedure, I asked them to confirm which side they worked on, and they told me they performed the filling on the LEFT side of my teeth just as I had predicted. Yet they initially told me they were going to operate on the RIGHT side of my mouth? When I questioned them, they just ignored me and told me to come back in 6 months. After that filling, my teeth started to hurt for weeks to the point where it was unbearable so I went to another dentist that SAME MONTH.
The new dentist (with better technology) told me that the filling they had performed, was poorly done and falling apart. How is it possible that the filling that was performed the SAME MONTH was already falling apart ?! I brush my teeth and floss regularly, so this was just strange to me. After the new dentist fixed the cavity, for the first time, my teeth did not hurt after a filling and I have a feeling that's what a normal dentist visit should be like. On top of that, my new dentist was actually willing to show me the x-rays of my teeth, whereas in the past, I was never able to even glance at the x-rays... since I've been going to my new dentist, I have not had any cavities despite my oral hygiene habits not changing a bit, and now I'm wondering if all the cavities I had as a kid were even "cavities."
To top it off, that dentist told my sister (15 years old) that she needed a root canal. A root canal for a 15 year old?! Meanwhile her new dentist said her teeth were fine and she just needed a regular filling for her cavity, NOT a root canal.
