I'll make it simple and clear: Jason is the man you want for the job. Give him a call and you'll thank me later.

I found a countertop and asked questions about veining because the countertops that I picked out had veins. First off the guy came to measure the countertops and they were cut two short and they gave us a hard time about that and then to tell me that I could have my contractor fill in the holes. Second I decided to use the countertops as back splashes and again asked the question about the veins matching. They told me they would match. Not the case at all. When they came to install for a second time the veins do not match the backsplashes after I was told they would. They claimed they never said this which is not true and told me that I had buyers remorse. For a $10,000 job they are doing sloppy work and do not care about the customers. I had asked about a discount because now I have to live with ugly countertops that do not match and will only receive a 5% discount which is nothing. The owner does not care about his customers and only cares about his money. Buyers beware of this place. Also when you walk into the shop the staff look miserable as they never have smiles on their faces, it's like they can't be bothered to get up to help you. Buyers beware of this place.

I received an email with a bid as follows: Windows Pella Pro-Line Remove existing windows, prep openings, supply and install new package of windows (per spec sheet). Seal openings properly with closed cell foam and rubberized tape. Finish and caulk exterior. Interior will be ready for paint/stain. Exterior Door Remove old service door in garage and prep for new. Supply and install one 2'8" flat panel steel entry door with 1/2 glass on side of garage Debris Removal Debris removal and general cleanup He wrote separately that the Pella rep would be out with him on Wednesday and a deposit was needed on that day for 50%, then 35% when windows were delivered and the final 15% at completion. I wrote back that I could not give a deposit without receipt of detail. After my email, the exchange changed the relationship from cordial to adversarial. The tone of his email messages escalated negatively. Given those exchanges we decided to cancel the measurement meeting. The response to our cancellation was additional aggressive, diminishment and hostile commentary. All in all, unsettling. Given some of the other reviews I read only recently, I think we made the right decision.

Just took their quote did not bid other contractors. But this time there was no foreman to deal with. Owner Paul called all the shots himself. Did not communicate with us or his people. They did not know from day to day what they were to work on. Paul did not care about our schedule or wishes. Got substandard workmanship on walls and trim. Had to rip trim out myself and fit and install correct trim at my expense. Had to work around their work on cabinets molding and tile. Even his tile sub, who did a great job told me he had told Paul repeatedly it would be a better job if they could install the tile before the baseboards. Said Paul told him if he was working for him to do it his way or work for someone else. We ended up with multiple cost overruns due to poor quoting, cabinets with sub stan paint and poor workmanship and fit up on carpentry work. We assumed that if we hired a professional builder and paid $53,000.00 we would get a professional job. Instead we got a my way or the highway attitude. I would not contract Paulsons to build a dog house.

It's easy to find using the address, there are not many signs along the way, but you don't need them if you map it. It is tucked back off the main road, there is plenty of parking and the door to walk in is clearly marked. We walked in and were greeted by a really sweet guy, he gave us a little tour and info, and then we looked around. The main shopping / display area is small, but perfectly laid out. There is a "boneyard" towards the back where they have tiles with slight imperfections or are considered overstock. These offerings change as they present themselves over the course of the week. Really sweet place, can't wait to continue to grow my collection!

And if you have been drooling over their tiles in museum gift shops but didn't want to spend the money, you can get some examples of their works. They have the rights to make tiles for Frank Lloyd Wright foundation and Charlie Harper copyright owners. The shop is small and they only sell their own designs. They also have frames, clocks, and other items that you can put their tiles. The stands for the larger sizes are heavy duty and some of those were also in the boneyard section. Plenty of parking, some special weekends where you can glaze some blanks and their artisans creations for sale. Get ready to work your Mastercard even when shopping the boneyard section.
