Steve proceeded to scope our flue (which I was able to watch on his computer screen) and there were soo many breaks in our flue, we were very nervous. He proceeded to inspect the chimney box (which needed repair also) and then when his crew went up to the top of our exterior chimney, he found that the previous owner had put in face brick instead of actual brick. All of this needed replacing and then in 2 subsequent visits, cleaned (Poultice Creosote Remover) and added FireGuard (a ceramic mortar joint and resurfacing system) to the entire flue and did Crowncoat on the top. And, as a extra benefit, screened the top. We are soo happy with CJW and their service - we will always refer people to your company. So many companies either did not call back or didn't show up for the appointment. Every step of the way, they were professional, explained everything in detail and was very friendly. Thank you!!

It was a difficult job because the existing concrete driveway had a 3" asphalt cap on top of it which first had to be torn out and taken to a separate processing facility. We had just 3 rooms done the first time in the Swedish Glitsa formula, and we loved the way they looked. When we decided, now 18 years later, to have the rest of our floors done with white oak, too, Sherrie (Frank's wife and project organizer) told us about Rubio Monocoat, a finish that is not only kind to the environment, but also very repairable. She encouraged us to opt for that finish this time instead of the Glitsa which cannot be "spot doctored" as Rubio can. We knew from experience that Frank and Shaun would do a quality job, so we did a firsthand check of a floor they had done to be sure we liked the matte Rubio look. We liked the bourbon stain, which brought out the rich natural grain of the oak, and we thought the matte finish with a final satin coat for subtle sheen looked much richer than the artificial plastic poly coats that many people installed in past decades. We signed the contract for this updated kind of wood finish, and the team's work began. Frank and Shaun were ALWAYS on time, and they worked industriously throughout their workday. They are amazing! They cleaned up each day like no other workers we had ever seen--almost fanatical neatness! They were friendly--real gentlemen--no offensive language at all. They patiently explained procedures and answered our many questions. We literally thank the Lord for directing us to skilled wood experts like these two men.
