The deli and salad counter is off limits because employees simply refuse to wait on me. I've seen black and Indian people have trouble in the store as well. I'm a heterosexual , white female with long blond hair and blue eyes...of a certain age, who is also a bit on the androgynous side due to an athletic physique. A friend of mine said that he thinks the store employees have ID'ed me as gay and that's why they refuse to serve me. The store seems great for families and those who fit the small town stereotype of how they should look and act. However, anyone who does not fit this stereotype needs to just go elsewhere for their groceries. the manager of the store is the individual responsible for setting the tone of if or how employees interact with customers. The manager needs to be terminated before the store gets sued. The store even went so far as to hire an armed off-duty police officer, complete with body armor, to intimidate blacks so they wouldn't shop there. It's really quite a terrible place.

I found her waiting in the cooler in the floral department. I was searching for an arrangement to drop off at my friend's office to brighten her day. This was a lot of flower power for $50 - fragrant stems, heavy pitcher for a vase and generous bouquet. My friend immediately commented on how wonderful the roses smelled! It totally made her day! There were a number of to-go arrangements in beautiful colors in all shapes and sizes. The man in front of me at checkout was picking up four dozen roses for his wedding anniversary - all beautiful! Friendly cashier helped me with checkout and removing the price tag. If you don't need delivery, I'd stop by here for your next arrangement - I think items a better bang for your hard-earned bucks!
