I have a traumatic history with Frontier as they canceled my flight 4 years ago to Phoenix last minute and I missed a friend's Bachelorette party. Then they made me through heck to get my money back! They nickel and dime EVERYTHING and they give nothing out for free, not even an in-flight snack or soft drinks! You even have to pay for your CARRY-ON!! And you better not be an ounce over 40 pounds on your checked bag or you'll get charged a hefty oversized fee. Fortunately, my suitcase was less than 30 pounds but my friend had to stuff some stuff in my bag since hers was 1 pound over and they were going to charge her! As for the flight itself, we left late because they apparently miscounted the number of passengers on their books. I wasn't expecting in-flight entertainment but at least put in outlets to charge devices so we can watch our own entertainment! The take off was so bumpy and I got so queezy that I nearly cried. And some might be happy about this, but I was disappointed to see that the seats did not have the ability to lean back a bit. I am giving Frontier two stars instead of just one because I feel sorry for the staff as they seem worn out but still are kind. And I didn't die on my flight, so that's a plus!

I get two complementary accesses to United Club through my United Explorer Credit Card. I have been to a few United Club in my lifetime. The best one was in LA. They had hot foods. Now the United Club in Cleveland is the best club that I have been to. They have hot foods, dumplings and meat balls. There are sandwiches and wraps. The best item is their Roasted Butter Squash Soup. We are in October, peak harvest season for squash. There is gelato. No more needed to be said. They serve only inexpensive items, but their tastes are average to good. The decor is very classy and rich in tone. There are individual rooms with power outlets as well as group work tables. A very spacious seating area with very comfortable chairs. All in all, I am very delighted in the decor and the foods. Good work, United. Rather than downloading the mobile application for American Airlines--the airline I was flying with--I visited their website to check in early and took a screenshot of my boarding pass. Since I only had a carry-on bag, this allowed me to head straight to TSA security instead of waiting to see an agent. As for my airport experience, TSA was not crowded at all with it being Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Even with that, I always dread going through security because of the possibility of being screened heavily, but all went smoothly! The only things I removed from my body were my jacket, backpack, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Half Marathon medal placing each item inside either the bin, or my jacket pocket. After a light screening of my Garmin Instinct GPS watch on my wrist, I was well on my way to locate the gate within the terminal, which was not a hard find. While en route to the gate, the first thing I admired in the terminal was a public art piece from the 'GuitarMania' project. It featured a blue and white decorative guitar headstock wall display with the word 'Cleveland' in script. Even though I was not hungry, I took notice of some food and snack options within the terminal. These included The Pub, Dunkin', Currito, Chick-fil-A, Shake Shack, Bruegger's Bagels, Bar Symon, and Auntie Anne's. Furthermore, I was relieved to find postcards to add to my travel collection. They were pricey, as most seem to be now. The airport shops I found that sold postcards were the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Airport Store and Hudson. Hudson also carried fan apparel for college sports teams in Cleveland and throughout Ohio. I was also able to buy keychains and magnets for my coworkers at Hudson, right outside the TSA screening area. Oh my God! The lingering scent of Auntie Anne's pretzels lured me back to the area once I located my gate, where I caved and purchased bite-sized cinnamon rolls from Cinnabon instead! This Cinnabon was literally right next to Auntie Anne's, which did terrible things to my willpower. Being inside an airport always reminds me how people cannot walk in a straight line because there is always someone walking in your direction. I always find myself maneuvering around like the spaceship in the Asteroids arcade game, avoiding collisions. This airport visit was no different, except for me overhearing "Love Me Two Times" by The Doors playing in the background. The American Airlines gate I flew out of appeared professional, with a very well-maintained seating area compared to other airlines I have flown out of. I rarely encounter boarding areas with clean seats and no trash left behind, which is hard to unsee. Within certain airline gates, there were workstations as well as seats with charging outlets, giving me the chance to charge my cell phone before boarding my flight. Although the flight back to Chicago was delayed, I was updated via email and Google on the flight's status, and thankfully it was held up for no longer than an hour. Even with the delay, the boarding process was very organized and professional, which is all I can ask for. The check in process for the Cleveland airport was seamless. It seemed like one of the smaller airports that I've gone too. The walk from security to the gate took about 15 minutes, not too long. There were plenty of restaurants inside the terminal. The flight did board on time, but we were missing the captain for the flight, and ended up waiting an extra 25 minutes before we could leave. I had a seat in the back of the plane and was a little worried since I only had 45 minutes for my connecting flight into Denver Colorado. Luckily, the team members had anyone going to Vegas on the connecting flight change seats to closer seats towards the exit of the plane at the end of the flight. By the time I made my connecting flight in Denver to Vegas from Cleveland, I had 10 minutes! Flight was good, service was great, it was a little bumpy, but not too bad.

I would have cleaned it up myself if it had been me - but maybe they wouldn't let her? Regardless the flight attendant earned her keep before we ever took off for this leg! Still, my experience on this airline has mostly been phenomenal. Except for one dude who recently asked my 80-something-year-old dad "Is it an emergency?" when he was going to the restroom on our decent, I have never experienced anything negative here. I believe that is a training issue, and I let the kid know on the way out that he needed to do better. (His response: "I'm just doing my job." My response: "There's an elderly man going to the bathroom and you want to know whether it is an emergency? Does the guy need to wet his pants? Further, are you saying that I can get up during a decent so long as I classify it as an 'emergency?'" At that point, a co-worker politely jumped in and said "He's doing his job, Sir." Shame on me for emphasizing a recent negative, when the majority of my travels have been extremely positive. This is a fine airline.

He then refused to get out of the car to look at the damage and was totally uncooperative until the police forced him to provide his information. It was a really bad look for Flexjet.com. I didn't think that I needed a travel agent these days (I mean the internet and trip advisor were all I needed, right?), but I was totally wrong. My sister and I couldn't decide on a Caribbean location for our resort trip, so Phyllis sat with us and gave us her first hand experience of all the different islands and their strengths and weaknesses. This woman has been everywhere and her knowledge and experience is super helpful. She ended up booking us a great off season deal at a 5 star all inclusive in Jamaica. It was beautiful, relaxing, and the food was amazing and authentic. And when we were stuck in the Jamaican airport on the way home because our plane was grounded in Charlotte with technical difficulties, all of our fellow passengers had to stand in these horribly long lines in the sweltering heat (no a/c in the airport concourse) while with a call to Phyllis, she got us rebooked on a flight, first class, and in the meantime we whiles away the wait with our passes to the members only lounge in the airport she recommended we spring for. She really saved us. So of course we've gone back to her for our family trip to Aruba, and my sisters trip to Mexico. Really, you can't go wrong with Phyllis, and when things do unexpectedly go wrong on your trip, she is there for you.
