Update 9/27: The day after I wrote this review the owner reached out. They did redo the tint and gave me a free visor strip. They both came out well done. But it does not make up for the way I was previously treated. I came to have my tints done on my Toyota Camry. When I came to pick it up, it ended looking like the technician didn't know what they were doing. None of the tints go all the way to the edge of the window, the back glass has air in it and the cut at the bottom looks at if a 6 year old did it. The owner is a crook, he smile in my face and said it would go away. I came back 3 times and he dismissed me and kept telling me to come back. I also reached out to the 800 number and they were no help. The manager was rude, didn't call back. The only way to have your tints fixed is to drop your car off all day. Terrible job and customer service. Disappointed because I have used this company before without issue. Brought my car in for a sunroof tint. Was quoted 30min to finish the job. After an 1hr 30min, the manager took me to my car and started asking me to come back another day because the job was not done correctly. He admitted it was poorly done and needed to be corrected by someone else who was more experienced and would be in on a different day. If you knew the person working couldn't do the job, why not tell the customer to come another day instead of making them wait and having someone who is inexperienced make an attempt. I was annoyed that I had to come back but I understand things happen. After looking at the car, not only was this simple job done horrendously but there was damage to my car. First, the tint was cut jagged in multiple areas and there was obvious overhang where there was way too much leftover film. Second, there are multiple long razor blade cuts all the way down the frame of the window. The frame is black and now there are multiple long, silver scratches in the metal. These long knife cuts were completely avoidable. Whoever was working on my car was clearly an amateur and didn't know what they were doing. The tint was eventually corrected but there is still damage to my car. I spoke to two shop managers and two people from their customer service line trying to get someone to address the knife damage to my car. No response in over a week. I have tried to contact this company multiple times by phone and email. I think the least they could do is give me a refund for service. If I had a new car, I would be expecting them to pay for the cost of repairing this damage. read more

Well why am I not surprised when I driving with the window open I kept hearing a buzzing sound on the drivers side as it turns out the tint on the driver side back window is now coming off . I was asked to call to see how we can resolve this I did I was told I he would talk to his manager and I would get a call right back no call . This was lousy work . From the beginning. Great service, I had some concerns and they immediately got me in and fixed the problem. The Manager was very kind and friendly.

Getting my car tinted here was a very easy process. I thought it was going to take a long time but only took an hour. I booked in the morning and came in 30 mins later. Pricing was very affordable and the manager acknowledged the online pricing and did all my windows and windshield for $399. The customer service was nice and understanding I did notice some things could have been done better like alignment of the tents to my window was off and the cutting was jagged. I mean it's a brand new Tesla so I wanted it to look very sleek and clean. I had to come back 2 times for issues the 3rd time I called and they allowed me to take it to another location. I will say that the technician Chris didn't get annoyed with me, he was very nice and acknowledged the differences that I pointed out and redid 3 of my windows. However, it was another technician that said very loudly to the manager that "she wants it perfect". & yes you're right, if I'm giving you my hard earned money, I want your work to meet my standards. I do believe the technicians especially the rude one was very young and a beginner and didn't care much about his work and how it looked. He needs more practice and years of experience. His customer service was no good. However, The office space is very clean and just a quick walk to visit stores in alameda if you don't feel like waiting around. Poor experience with customer service despite great tint quality: I brought my wife's Corolla in for a tint job that was supposed to be part of Jet Black Tint's Labor Day special: $179 for five windows and a visor strip. I had confirmed this over the phone and even had notes in my account showing I qualified. Despite that, my brother was charged about $205 at the time of service. I followed up multiple times with Jet Black Tint and was eventually directed to Katie, who confirmed over the phone that I should send in the warranty paperwork so she could process the refund. I emailed the paperwork immediately (on a Thursday), and she told me I'd hear back in three business days. Unfortunately, I never heard back. I followed up several times by email and by phone. She even promised a call back within 30 minutes. Nothing. I have now waited well past the deadline with zero follow-up. The actual tint job came out looking great, which is why I am not giving a 1-star rating. But the lack of accountability and follow-through from the business side has been extremely disappointing. I purchased a new car, and with that, I wanted to find the best possible tinting service. I was skeptical of going to local "street tint shops" and was looking for the best possible job and outcome. I chose Jet Black Tint and glass because I thought it was a company that I could rely on. I purchased the top tier tinting service of over $500. Leading up to the appointment, they were great about communicating the time, place and confirmation. Upon arrival for my appointment, everything seemed to go as planned. I was called to come pick up the car as it was "ready "and this is where the disappointments started. When we arrived, our car was not indeed ready. We were presented our car and it was covered in overspray and splatter from the tinting process. There were gaps on several windows where the tint was applied. Obviously there was no quality control to deliver the finished product. I complained, and they recognized that the tint was applied improperly and offered redo it, which took another hour. There were two young men who were the technicians in the back, blasting trap music and obviously didn't seem concerned with the outcome of the job. In short, I was delivered a messy incomplete car. It seemed no one took the time to inspect the work prior to delivering it to the customer, everything was very sloppy and unprofessional. I expected way more with paying for the top tier tint. Go somewhere else where some people actually care and there is some quality control on the delivered product. read more

This is my second car and second location of jet black tint that i have been too. They are a little slow so be patient with them but they guarantee their work and their work is good. They have a Groupon special that i use. The only reason i gave them a 4 instead of 5 stars is because you used to be able to get any visibility for the deal, now it stops at 25%. Got my car tinted here everything went well, the only thing is that they didn't properly cover my dashboard when applying the windshield tint and it got some cables wet which caused my car to not turn on (it's an electric car) for it to be as pricey as it was I would assume they take the precautions necessary to prevent any water damage to electric cars. read more

I regret not shopping around before coming here. I came here because of the 2nd car free tint if you upgrade to ceramic. But their communication, terms and conditions are deceptive. 1. Was told I would get the same tint material for the 2nd car when I brought the first car. When I brought in the 2nd car I confirmed with them that I would get the same material. Got the "limited time" offer of $69 buy one get one free. Ater I bought it, I was told that in order to get the "free" second car tint I had to upgrade to the $250 option. Was told no refunds. Stuck with the $69 tint, I scheduled an appointment at the Alameda location. Was told my appointment was at 9 am. I checked the hours but saw that they didn't open until 10 am, but after confirming my appointment time with the scheduler I assumed they would be open. They weren't. At 9:50 once a worker got in, they told me I wasn't on the schedule but they'd take care of me first. Got my car in around 10:15. Took about 45 minutes. The job wasn't bad, but you can tell you got what you paid for. Tint covering wasn't fully covering the windows and cut to size, slight bubbling that wasn't noticeable in the sun, and the tint isn't very dark. Overall, not worth it even at a discount. read more

Also a random $8 charge that didn't match the original subtotal from the invoice 2 major red flags. Turnaround time was faster than expected so that was a plus but when I picked up my car I noticed an orange peel looking substance left behind on my trunk when he backed out my car. I had hoped that my next post would be about great customer service, but it isn't. When I had my car detailed, which I posted and boasted about, I had also been charged for $500 for Paint protection film that was not scheduled, started or done because I was only there for tinting my windows. I had expressed interest in doing it at a later time. I decided not to do it and have yet to see the money refunded to my card. I tried for the past two weeks to reach someone at the main number (888) 385-1504, but they could not resolve the issue since there is no corporate office. They did give me the number to the local establishment which did not return my calls. I finally took a day off from work to visit the location and talk to Altaee on February 8th to discuss the reimbursement. He had said it wouldn't be a problem I just need to have my receipt and the paperwork. Today, February 10th, Altaee tells me they can only refund me 50% because they had every intention of doing the job! I was confused at the audacity. How am I going to pay $250 for good intentions? You didn't touch my car, start the job or even have it on your schedule. As a matter of fact, I have not been to your location since the day you tinted my car. Instead of having a satisfied customer you have me filing small claims paperwork to get my money back plus reimbursement for the days I've taken off to deal with this and court cost.
