Did not complete the job as discussed. The job was - 90 to 95 % complete.and since he was paid stopped answering my calls.

Jesse tree service is great ! I had a massive branch come down off my redwood he came the same day to inspect and cleaned it up the next day. He also trimmed my mulberry tree. I have been using him for 10 years great guy! read more

Jesse's team did a great job on the actual tree trimming, but unfortunately I heard a loud bang and come out to see that a fairly large branch had hit the roof cracking a roof tile. I was assured by Jesse that he would come to take a look at the damage and replace the tile if necessary, but he never showed up, and no longer responds to my texts or calls. He also failed to provide an invoice. I made the mistake of writing the check to him based on his word that the invoice would be mailed to me the next day. It's been well over a month and still no invoice. This is obviously extremely disappointing outcome and I can not recommend Jesse. It's sad because his team is great, it's Jesse that is the problem. He simply does not follow through or care about the overall outcome for his customers. read more

Would not recommend this unprofessional outfit since they do not take responsibility to remedy their mistakes. The crew removed our large Camphor tree two weeks ago but broke portions of our paved walkway when unloading wood chips from their huge truck. We did not need wood chips but Jesse begged us to help him out and in the process caused the damage while dumping a very overweight load of stuffs from their truck on our lawn. We have been unable to get in touch with him to fix the damage. Very quick to return call for work initially but just ignore you if you need follow up action from Jesse since he is already onto his next gig. It's not worth saving some money in return for headaches to cover potential damages. read more

Jesse is just the friendliest... and very professional and fast in his responses to my calls, voice messages, even text. His quote to shape up 2 VERY large and out of control trees and 2 very tall palms was hands down the lowest of all. Sometimes you get what you pay for and we got waaay more. His team did simply a fantastic job. They knew exactly what was needed.... they know exactly what they're doing and afterward we couldn't even tell they were there for this massive job. Cleaned up to perfection. Thanks Jesse and team. I'm happy to share this experience with everyone. read more

Jesses Tree Service - a tree that has been cut down - Tree Services Near Me

See all

They actually did a good job on our trees. Then once we paid he would not return to finish the job or clean up all the chips. Won't return multiple texts even after telling me "I give you my word we will finish" and dumped a huge pile of chips (ours and other peoples) on our street and on our neighbors property without permission and won't come back to get rid of them. I tried to report them to the city and they will not do anything about it. It's also in a dangerous place with no place to pull off the road to load them into a truck. So we've got a huge pile of chips blocking drainage and part of the street now, sitting for over a month now. Don't hire this company!! Very unprofessional, illegal dumping and horrid business practices. read more

Called the number listed on yelp on Thursday and the phone rank and was answered with "hello." I asked if it was Jesse's tree service and he said yes and we agreed that he would come on Saturday morning to do a bid for my tree pruning. Jesse was a no show without any phone call telling me he wasn't coming. I'll look elsewhere for somebody to do the job as I can only imagine dealing with these guys down the road. read more

Several years ago we put out some tree trimming to bid, Several contractors gave us bids ranging from $1100 to $1500. Jesses price $850 Over the years i tried several tree trimmers, Most of them turned out to be scammers with false contractors license numbers. and/or no insurance Jesses is one of the few i have found that actually has the correct license and insurance They do a Great job of tree trimming, Quick clean and professional. Over the last 4 years i have not called any one else for tree work read more

Called and spoke with Jesee. He came out the very same day and gave a quote on the spot to remove 2 trees in front yard. He was very polite and easy to talk to. He gave a bid right on the spot along with a copy of their insurance, Quote was 1/3 less than the 2 others I got. He said he could do job within 1 -2 days. He showed up on Wednesday as planned; the crew had both trees down in less than 1 day. That's where the job kinda went sideways though.... It took another 5 days for his crew to come back to grind the stumps and another 10 days for them to come back to finish the cleanup. If you are not in a hurry and have time on your side and can stay on top of him through phone calls, the quality of the work and pricing are reasons to use him. But, be forewarned, he does not have good scheduling skills, and definitely didn't keep me informed of the progress. but, for all of the dollar savings, I felt ok about having to hound him. So, 4 stars for Quality of Work 5 stars for Price 3 stars for scheduling Nice guy though. read more

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. After having received several quotes, I decided to call Jesse. Called him on Tuesday afternoon for an estimate on a redwood tree and he was at my house within the hour! He was very knowledgeable, professional and told me he could start the job the next day. Jesse was able to match one of my quotes and we felt very comfortable selecting him. Jesse and his crew arrived the next morning as scheduled and worked diligently and safely and were able to cut down my tree by the end of the day! It was a monster at 90 feet tall. Jesse went the extra mile and took care of some ivy we also had and cleaned up the debris in our yard and actually cleaned up debris in our neighbors yard as well. Jesse's tree service is the way to go. Excellent pricing, efficient, knowledgeable and professional. Looking forward to working with him in the future. Give him a call. You will not be disappointed! read more

These guys are excellent - 4.5 Stars. I have a large cedar tree just next to my house and over my deck and had some concerns over a tree company coming in and carefully trimming my tree - not dropping limbs on my deck or roof. Jesse and his crew did a GREAT job and carefully lowered limbs that could not simply be dropped. I recommend him to friends and will use him again when needed. Thanks Jesse. read more

Tree Removal... I highly recommend you use Jesses Tree Service. Two days ago we called Jesse for a quote. Within 30 minutes he arrived at our house in order to give us an estimate. The next afternoon he removed the tree. His prices are more than fair too! I hope you choose Jesse. We were incredibly pleased. =) read more

I called Jesse one Saturday morning to deal with the broken tree in my front yard. The downed branches were blocking the front door to my house. Jesse came out in about 20 minutes. I decided to remove the entire tree, so we agreed on a price. He said he would get the downed branches cleared, then possibly come back the same day to take down the tree. He and a worker came back about 30 minutes later and cleared the fallen branches. About 5 hours later, a crew showed up and took down the tree. They were very organized and professional and even ground another small stump in my front yard. They did a good job of cleaning up afterwards. His price was fair, the work done well and in a timely manner. He's coming out to work on my back yard next week. All in all, a very good experience. Then it all goes wrong. We made arrangements for him to come out 3 days later and trim a tree in my back yard. I took time off work and waited. And waited. About 4 hours after he was supposed to show up, I received a call telling me they weren't coming. They apologized and agreed to come out at 4 the next day. Okay, stuff happens. I had another crew coming that afternoon to plant a new tree in my front yard. I showed up at 4 and there were 2 guys sitting in my front yard. One of them asked me if I had a shovel. I did a slow burn and asked incredulously - you showed up to plant a tree without any tools? They said they were just doing what they were told. I called the tree planter and registered my irritation. He said - "those aren't my guys, I'm on my way." WTF? At that point, I found out these guys worked for Jesse. I told them they were there to trim the tree in the backyard. To make a long story short, these guys had no idea why they were there and no tools. After about an hour, they left without a word. My call to Jesse was not returned. 5 stars for the tree removal 1 star for wasting a bunch of my time by not following through read more

We found Jesse's Tree Service advertised in the phone book and called for an estimate to trim my trees. He came out and gave a verbal estimate. We asked for a written estimate and proof of insurance to start the job. When his crew arrived we had not received a written estimate or proof of insurance. We called Jesse and requested this information. To our surprise, the certificate of insurance he faxed was in another company's name and didn't include the estimate. From what I understand, the certificate should be in company's name that is doing the work, so we called Jesse back and asked about this and quickly lost confidence in doing business with his company. We later looked at the certificate of insurance and saw that the liability insurance had expired. The bottom line is that we won't have anyone work on our property without a written contract and valid proof of insurance. He failed to provide this so he had to send his crew somewhere else. read more

My husband and I called Jesse based on the one review and the fact he was a local tree service. Jesse made arrangements to cut the tree down on Wednesday, but we didn't hear from him so my husband called and he said one of his men called in sick and could he do the job on Thursday. We wished he would have called us to let us know, but we agreed and Jesse's men came over an hour earlier than he mentioned. The men were very professional. They cut down the tree and dug up the root. The job site was left clean and we were very happy with his work. We would definitely call Jesse if we need another tree cut down. Thanks Jesse and men. read more

Used Jesse to remove a dead tree from neighbors yard and they did excellent work. Good price and came out to job when scheduled. Hired Jesse to trim my cedar trees and they BUTCHERED 3 trees before Jesse showed up to supervised. He admitted that his employee cut too much off, but never offered any compensation. Will take future business else where. 4 stars for removal of dead tree. 1 star for trimming. read more

I called 3 contractors to bid on a job to clean up 7 trees, remove and grind out roots for 7 more trees. He presented the lowest. He and his crew of about 7 did an excellent job. They go above and beyond! My only complaint would be time estimation. He underestimated the amount of time it would take to complete the project. I was still satisfied with the time line because I had estimated it correctly! I will definitely recommend him and call him back for future tree service. read more

Jessee was great to work with. Easy estimate process was on time and did the job quickly and efficiently. Took care of my three very tall palm trees. read more

Great guy, didn't check his licence but the job he does is very good with a professional touch.

Highly recommend. Jesse came out and gave me a free estimate the morning I called, and returned as promised the next day to do the job. The price was very reasonable, beating all other bidders. Jesse and his team rapidly got to work, grinding 2 old stumps, removing 2 Liquid Ambers and one Oak, then grinding those stumps. All the trees were partially over structures, my house and carport. Everything over the roofs came down via a rope, so nothing hit any of my buildings. The job was done quickly, clean up was thorough and it was a good experience in total. I highly recommend this tree service company. read more

**Please see the update below, which I posted today (2 months later). I should have read the "negative" reviews re: follow-up and communication more closely as it happens. If you want quick, efficient, low-priced, neat, and pleasant service, then Jesse's Tree Service is the only one you need to consider. He arrived on time for the estimate and completed the agreed to work with a great crew in only 40 minutes. We had many stumps to grind, a tree removed, a huge branch that needed to be cut and chipped, and many shrubs which also had to be cut down and dug out. Except for the very welcome view they now created for us, because they left our yard so neat, you would never know they had been there. He is our guy from now on for this kind of work! I am updating this on 11/12/13, because I have tried since he came out in August to have him remove a stump which was missed. After at least 6-7 calls over the last 2+ months, when I have spoken directly to him and he said he would be out that day or the next, I have given up. My advice is to check when they are done and be clear that you want anything missed to be done right then and there. Sounds obvious, right, but when your initial contact is positive, you don't think that follow-up will be a problem..oh well... read more

Very friendly and professional staff, did a great job with my backyard, wasted no time and got right to work. Super reasonable price, would definitely recommend and use again in the future! read more

Great job at low prices! Less than half the cost of other tree services.. left the place clean and perfect.

I now live in Concord.....My neighbor wrecked one small tree last year. I had a few other things to have done. Jessie and crew cut back a huge pine. Now I don't have to climb up to clear my (flat roof's open "English" style) gutters every two weeks. They planted a dogwood in place of the ruined tree. It bloomed beautifully this spring. They cut back other trees that had become raggedy or which were blocking wanted sun. They removed a young, tall walnut tree (my development used to be a walnut orchard). And most appreciated, they removed a huge pampas grass plant, which no other service wanted to touch (and not one leaf of it has come back). Jessie also gave me some advice on which bush/trees might require trimming in the near future. I though Jessie and his crew were very professional, very efficient and the price was reasonable. read more

Jesse did a great job on three palms in my front yard. A neighbor even came over and asked who trimmed them! His price was the lowest (by far) and he was easy to deal with. I'm definitely keeping his name on file for next time! read more

Jesse came to give us are estimate and was very knowledgable about all of our trees, which made my tree-loving husband extremely comfortable. He and his team came bright and early and got everything done by mid day- and it was a BIG job! He also gave us a fantastic deal and removed a huge Oak he was worried about for way less than market rate. Our yard looks so much better! He's an honest guy and his team are great at what they do - I highly recommend. read more

Jesse has been cutting back my Fruitless Mulberry (big) for two or three years now. I'd give him a 5 but he showed up a day late. But that's ok. 4 guys had her done in half hour $150 read more

Jesse and his crew trimmed two enormous sycamore trees in our yard. Not only was the price very reasonable but the service provided was exceptional and the professionalism and clean up were a wonderful surprise! About to contact Jesse for another job :o) read more

Good job Jesse and team! We have a big backyard. They removed trees, planted new ones, and pruned existing fruit trees for us. They did it in two days. Best part, they gave us the best rate! We got many quotes, and his was the best! Two things: I wish they would have cleaned up the weeds around the remaining trees a bit, and they missed one of our trees for pruning. read more

I received 3 quotes, Jesses' was not only the lowest but he provided great advice and expertise during the process. I didn't get a written quote, which did have me a little concerned, but hired him anyway. I was able to schedule the job on a very sort notice which was great. The crew is just now wrapping up, they were courteous, efficient, and thorough. I had many trees in my yard some severely neglected. They all look tip top now! And my yard looks better than when they started because of their very thorough clean-up! Use these guys, you won't be sorry! read more

What do you do when you come home from work and find 3 guys with chainsaws in your back yard making a mess everywhere. Well you blow a head gasket. That's what happened when I came home from work to find the crew of Jesse's Tree Service in my back yard chewing up a tree they just cut down. He is the funny part. The tree wasn't even on my property and I never hired them to do a job. They failed to properly control and calculate where the tree would come down once they cut it from my neighbor's yard. Well after I calmed down a little bit I went to the kid in charge and let him know they needed to get back there and clean up my property but I wanted to speak to the owner of the company. On top of that when the tree came down it caused damage to my property so you can imagine how upset I was. Keep in mind I have cameras on my property and this was all caught on my DVR. Well when the owner never showed I decided to call and wouldn't you know it I got Jesse on the phone. We had a good discussion and Jesse was very apologetic and empathized with my situation and stated he would come by to inspect the damage and pay for the damages caused by his crew. I felt this was satisfactory and told him I am home every day after 1 pm to feel free and give me a call when he is going to stop by. Well that was last week and I haven't seen or heard from him since. Am I going to call him back, nope. Instead I will share my experience with everyone so they can decide if this is a company they want to do business with. If a company fails to do a job properly, then decides to trespass, and then fails to correct their mistake. Then how can you trust them? I would not recommend anyone do any business with Jesse's Tree Service. Just another Shysty company out there to do whatever they want to people. The only way they change their practices is when business is impacted. So instead of calling Jesse's Tree Service you should call someone else. read more

He took out a medium tree for me but left a huge mess, a huge pile of trunk trimings that he was supposed to haul away plus horrible stains all over my walkway and driveway. Before I accepted the job he said he would leave everything nice and neat. He is ignoring my many phone calls requesting him to come and clean up the mess. I paid him $350 cash on the spot. I would not receommend this guy to anyone. read more

Based on my negative experience today, I would not recommend Jesse. We had an appointment at Noon for multiple stump removals. No show. No phone call. I called him at 1:10 to find out what happened and if he was still coming and he said "Yeah. My guy is on his way over there now." I waited another 2 hours and still no show. I haven't received a single courtesy call, and he is no longer answering my calls (likely because he knows he totally flaked). I took time off work to be here and wasted my entire day. read more

Jesse didn't show up twice. I did not receive a courtesy call either time that he wasn't coming. Very unprofessional.

These guys were great! Lowest quote, fast and professional service. Went above and beyond. Removed a palm tree for us as well as two other smaller trees and cleaned up/trimmed two others. Would recommend them to anyone I know. Great service. read more

Definitely would have Jesse's team come out for tree trimming again. The whole crew worked non-stop to fulfill the project. They are a great bunch of guys and Jesse keeps his word. Great work, trees look much better than the jungle we started with. Thanks and see ya soon! read more

Jesse's crew was very impressive as they easily climbed arch I can take trees to professionally trim them and make them look neat and manicured.
