Had to stop and check it out when I saw ALL the reviews. Have to say, all true! Phenomenal food across the board. Got the sampler platter lunch special, baba ganoush, 1/2 dozen falafel, and a lentil to share with my wife. All very good! Sorry bout the lack of pics, was eating to fast to slow down for a photo op. One small criticism, the chicken schwarma was a little lacking in flavor, but we loved it all. Stop by and check it out!! read more

Their lamb kabob entree is so tasty I've haven't had one like this since New York. Their meat is super tender and the Gyro is great as well . Their delivery was super fast What surprised me was how amazing their fries are actually!!! Only downside is if your placing your order online and want to make special changes its usually ignored so make sure you call. read more

Fantastic! We used Jerusalem Cafe catering for my daughters bridal shower. They were helpful guiding us in our order. All the food was fantastic and all types of eaters had options to choose from. Great amount of quality food for the price. Highly recommend! read more

While this place is not fancy looking, it makes up for in very tasty food and excellent service. Very friendly wait staff and what more can I say the food is very good. The only thing I would change is the seating. It was cold in the restaurant with the door constantly opening. read more

Always consistently good food and the owner/manager is super friendly. Large portions = great value. I always get the chicken kabob with rice/veggies and a delicious garlic sauce. My wife loves the shawarma and falafel. Order up front and the staff will deliver to you. Big thumbs up! read more

This may be my New favorite place. My husband and I each got a combination platter. It came piled high with flavored rice, topped with beef shawarma, beef kabob, vegetables, falafel, and-for a buck extra-chicken. It came with a side of bread and hummus. This was entirely too much food, but it was so hard to stop eating! Everything was beautifully seasoned and you could add hot sauce or garlic sauce from the bar. I did both and they were delicious! The garlic was like a mayo jam packed with garlic. The hot sauces were jalapeno based and just a bit spicy, but we love spicy. Everything here is halal, but definitely not kosher. Husband and I (who attempt to eat kosher) totally cheated with this meal, it wasn't on Shabbat though, so our guilt is minimal. #reformlife. Definitely will be coming back. read more

Great food. Great price. Great service. We are here for the first time tonight and we will definitely be back many more times. I had the combo platter and it was awesome. Food was flavorful and we had plenty to take home for leftovers. Don't wait to try this place we did. Go now!! read more

Ordered the catering order and got yellow rice with beef patties and the AMAZING RED AAUCE!!!!!! Would definitely eat here again and hope they ship food to Maryland because boy this food was amazing! read more

Very worst service. I ordered a juice which i got after 30 minutes of waiting, also the guy worked there behaved very rudely as if i did a sin by ordering only one item. If they have problem handling orders for single item, they should let people know while they taking the orders. Overall very bad experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I ate here recently (I have eaten here a few times since last summer). Not a fan of the place itself - In the store front is out dated, not too clean, and needs repair. But I do not care as I get carryout orders. The food is great. I have not had a bad meal here and I have tried multiple things. If you are looking for an authentic middle eastern meal - this is the place to go! Food is good! read more

Their lunch special is the best tasting deal around. Lots of food, great price, and nice people. A buddy brought me here reluctantly, and I could eat here everyday. Seriously, it's that good. read more

Love the chicken tawook. I also find it nice that they consistently send discounts if you sign up your number with them.

Best falafel in town period the owner is such a delightful person always makes u welcome prices quality and CS are amazing

Ordered the Shawarma Lunch with lamb. Which was delish. I thought the tabhouli had big fresh chunks of tomatoes and cucumber, another taste treat. Serving size was generous. The grubHub driver was here within 15 minutes which was amazing. It feels good to order healthy food once in awhile. read more

Worth a visit. Then a return and subsequent returns. Excellent food, smiling faces. read more

Excellent Mediterranean food at an honest price. Jerusalem features great falafel and fresh Mediterranean-style entrees, but where they really shine is their meat. Their sampler items and beef shawarma items are the best in Dupage county. The atmosphere is clean and friendly albeit a little plain. The staff is always polite. If you want speedy, fresh, made-to-order, authentic Mediterranean cuisine on a reasonable budget, do yourself a favor and come here. read more

I loved my experience here. I tried the falafel and it was absolutely delicious. Everyone who works there is super friendly as well. Try the Persian tea! read more

The food was good overall. However, our meals were supposed to come with tzatziki and tahini sauce; without these sauces the food was incredibly dry. I would say it was a mediocre experience of Middle Eastern food. read more

This has become my favorite restaurant. The food is nothing short of amazing and it is reasonably priced. I highly recommend this place.

Food is fresh and delicious. Baklava is amazing. Decor is cute and the staff is very friendly

Excellent food, friendly service. The combination feast is a great value that really demonstrates the quality and value of food. I usually get entrees over the sandwiches, and the amount of food you get is truly impressive. Plus the baklava is a wonderful dessert. read more

This place has really good food and the only reason I'm leaving an average rating is because we ordered take out and the owner wanted to charge us extra for sauces they dine-in customers take as much as they want. We ordered for 4 people and merely asked for 4 small containers for pickles and hot sauce but eventually had to fork up a few $$$. read more

This place is the best middle eastern place I've ever eaten at! I randomly stopped by and it's incredibly delicious, generous and affordable (lunch special I'm looking at you)! The meats are flavorful and tender. And the best thing is they give you all the garlic sauce and hot sauce without charge. Unbelievable, I would be willing to drive 20 minutes from home just to come here it's that great! You all have a customer for life. Don't hesitate check this place out! read more

This is my 2nd time in Chicago also my 2nd time eating from here the food never ceases to amaze me . So well seasoned not salty great pita ,hummus ,lamb ,beef i will definitely order from here my next visit again read more

Enjoyed my visit to Jerusalem Café. The Kifta Kabob entrée was very good, nice spice and moist meat. The owner and his daughter were taking care of orders and they are very friendly and gracious. read more

The food is good. I'm a vegan and was able to get some nice dishes to share with my husband who is also vegan. The only reason I didn't give this restaurant a higher score is because of the slow disorganized service. The cashier seemed to be new and not well trained but she was also not knowledgeable About the food. She had a large tattoo over her chest and a low cut shirt. My husband has tattoos but hers really made me uncomfortable for a food/family establishment being on her chest. read more

Yummy! Ordered for pick-up through Yelp and all was ready and waiting for me. Wasn't too impressed with the chicken or the extra meat option but the beef was wonderfully tender and the rice and sauces were delicious and perfectly cooked. Happy tummy! read more

We ordered delivery. Most of the food is really good. The rice, tahini sauce, meat, Jerusalem salad and hummus were delicious and had a generous portion. I thought that the falafel had a texture and taste that was not as nice as other places. The bread left something to be desired. It was very dry, thin and hard. But in general, everything was yummy. The delivery driver was very rude. When he got to the house he complained about the distance. We ordered from Groupon to go which has a delivery area predetermined. Then, after getting his tip he counted the money right in front of us. My husband told him to have a nice evening and he told him that with that tip he would not. The rudeness of the delivery made me not want to order again despite the good food. read more

Love this place so much! My husband and I have been eating at the J.C. since we lived in Oak Park 8 years ago. (They have an OP location too) The quality of the food is always outstanding, the flavors are out of this world and they honestly make the best smoothie I've ever had. My go to is: kifta kebob sandwich or plate. The lunch buffet is a genius way to try most of what they make. It's very reasonably priced at somewhere around $8-9 (I believe) and it's a vast array of choices from beef, chicken, lamb, falafel, rice and veggies, pita bread, soup, etc. The best part (to me), is I NEVER feel guilty eating here. The cuisine is fresh, healthy and no added crap. It's real and absolutely delicious. On a personal note....yesterday was my husband's birthday and I wanted to surprise him with delivery for lunch. I called up the J.C. Lombard and relayed this in my order with the woman on the phone. I didn't ask for anything special, just that I wanted to pre pay for it, obvi, it being a surprise. She was sweet and understood and was very helpful. About 5 min after I expected it to arrive, my husband sends me a text with a picture of the food tin. On the top of the cover, they had written: "Happy Birthday Josh! Love, Sarah" I was very touched by this non-requested and extremely thoughtful act. And it goes to show you why this business is so above average to us. And now, it's not only the food that's amazing to us, it's the people that work there too. You must try this place! read more

The food is always great every time I've been there. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I haven't been there for lunch, but the special is $6:99 for a combination platter between 11am and 2pm. Kind of a creature of habbit but when I have deviated I am never disappointed by the quality and flavor. read more

So so good! I had a falafel Pita and it was amazing! Fresh, tasty and excellent flavor. I will definitely get it again.

This place was more of a 3.7 but giving them a 3 seems wrong. Great food, moderately priced, good service, and a good variety to choose from. There's also many condiments available for you to take on your own. The garlic yogurt sauce was absolutely addicting and I used way too much of it on everything. The sodium levels were not bad at all, which is a huge plus in my book as I'm on a heavily restricted low-sodium diet and have been for so long that I can literally taste the salt in everything I eat. I also loved all of the vegetarian options, and everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Next time I'm in the area, I'll likely be back for more! read more

There's just no way that this place could disappoint you. The food is absolutely mouth-watering, the serving size is abundant and the owner is amazing. It's that hidden gem that you always hope to find when you try something new. It's understated just the right amount for you to know that it's going to be awesome. I am consistently impressed and thankful that I have this place so close by and every time I drive by I wish I was stopping in (even though I have to pass it everyday to and from work so clearly, I can't eat out EVERY day). Please do yourself a favor and try this place. P.S. I recommend you request their pita chips with the garlic sauce. I promise you you'll never look at your bag of pita chips the same again. read more

I've eaten here a lot and everything on the menu is awesome. The food can be a little dry (just the nature of Arab cuisine), so I always get extra yogurt or tahini sauce. read more

Our go to place! This place had opened right before I got pregnant and I literally lived on this while I was prego! they are so nice and esa is just a gem of a man. There are a lot of mediterranean joints in this neighborhood, and they're all good, but this one is my favorite. It's the little things that make a difference and make it stand out - at least to me. Pretty much all places will give you the same meat and rice - but the sides / sauces here are by far the best in my opinion - the roasted and pickled vegetables and the garlic mayo - when combined w the meat and rice - is superb read more
