Really authentic food. We got the combination plate as the main dish with the grape leaves with the fatoosh salad. The grape leaves were yummy and tasted just like what i grew up on in the Middle East. The beef in the combo plate was seasoned really well and was really yummy! We ended our meal with the assorted baklava. That definitely hit the spot. It was the perfect amount of sweetness and not cloyingly sweet like some baklava's you get. read more

We've been going to Jerusalem Cafe for a few years now. Probably one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants we go to. The portions are good for the price. The staff is always friendly to us, especially the female attendant. We will always come back. Also, this branch on Lombard is way better than the one in OakPark. read more

I like how you order online where you can actually see what the customer asked for instead of having to guess and it's still wrong. I asked for all rice no veggies and got all veggies!!! You have to actually click a button and pay more for all veggies which I didn't click because I saw pictures of them and didnt want a soggy veggie experience as though this was an asian place. This made this food taste like a stir fry cooked at home instead of what I thought the food would be. The ONLY thing good was the falafel and that's why it got 2 out of 5 stars. read more

They charge additional money for hot sauce. It's pretty standard to get hot sauce but now they charge for it even when dining in or carry out. That wouldn't be an issue if they were consistent and up front about this. But they gave the lady in front of me free hot sauce. And even when I just paid for it, they almost forgot to include it my order. I had to remind them when they gave me the bag. I will be voting with my wallet and don't plan on returning here. read more

I have been coming here at least once a week since they opened up...and I can honestly say the quality and the taste has only improved. One of the best tasting middle eastern places for lunch or dinner. The pricing is very very reasonable. The staff is nice. Place is cleaner than expected. Id recommend this for anyone. Get their combination platter! read more

I got the gyros sandwich. For $5.99 you get a descent sized gyros sandwich with fries. They make it fresh so it takes some time for them to bring it out. You order at the counter and then take a seat. My favorite part was they had jalapenos, giardiniera, hot sauce, garlic sauce etc all out on a self-serve table. So I got to load up on various spices. The gyros sandwich itself was descent, I'd give it 8/10. One of the better sandwiches I had in the lombard area and good value. My sister got the beef sandwich and she liked my sandwich much more, she thought it was okay. The have a good amount of parking and the inside is nothing fancy. Will come back again! read more

First time writing a review on Yelp because I thoroughly enjoyed me meal here! My boyfriend and I have tried a lot of similar cuisines in the area and this was by far the most memorable! The chicken fattoush salad had so much flavor and was a very generous portion. Their garlic sauce is some of the best we've ever had. Certaintly will be returning. Thank you!! read more

I absolutely love Jerusalem Cafe! Everything on their menu is so fresh and delicious! I seriously could eat their Gyro sandwich everyday for lunch. They also offer homemade iced tea that is brewed to perfection! If you are hungry in Lombard definitely stop in! read more

For the past 18 years, in the job I have with my company, I cater from 10-20 times a month. Over that time I've catered from many places, sampled a myriad of food types and styles and ethnicities. Most of my repeat business with those caterers results from my customer feedback on the food so over that many years you'd guess that I would narrow things down to the best service, food, convenience, and price, as I do have an annual meal budget for my catering and Jerusalem Cafe ranks in my top 2 places to use. Not only is the food excellent, the recipes all original from their father who owned a restaurant in Jerusalem where the owners grew up, but the prices are too. Plus I'm a fan of small family owned businesses, which JC is, and the three brothers who own the Lombard and Oak Park restaurants are great to work with and I consider them my friends. I think their hummus is the best around. Hugely better than store bought or what most middle eastern restaurants I've tried, make. I like their smooth and creamy style. I'm not going to itemize and comment on the different foods they make because I'd say the same about them all....Fantastic! If you have not tried JC, you cannot yet die and go to heaven. read more

My Brother and his Son told me about this spot in Lombard. Stopped by last week to check out a store that was closing and saw that they were almost next to each other. Must say, their Shawarma Rocks. Looking forward to trying some of their other delicacies in my next round. Service, Atmosphere works...Cheers! read more

Aweeesome!!! I normally don't write reviews but this has the best food compared to Naf Naf Grill and Pita Inn. I was born in the Middle East and this tastes exactly how it tastes in ME. I got the lunch special and it tastes really good. I have never liked falafel in my life but they had the best one. Thumbs up guys!! read more

I ordered the falafel plate. The price was pretty reasonable for the amount of food you receive. The falafel plate comes with six falafels on a bed of rice with a small fry and a big salad and a small side hummus and pita bread. Before falafels were pretty big in size however they were dry and I didn't like the seasoning. The rice and hummus tasted good. The Arabic salad was good but it's such a small amount they give you its like a tease. read more

Came here for lunch one day since the reviews were so high. I love Middle Eastern food, and was working in the Oak Brook area. Maybe I went in with high expectations, but overall I was disappointed. The food was ok, just not good or exceptional. I prefer my shwarma meat to be tender, and this meat seemed dry and lacked a lot of flavor. I also prefer my humus fluffy, and this one seemed to be thicker, which is fine, just not my preferred taste. The falafal was ok, but on the drier side. There are places with better flavor in the area. Not that is was bad, just average Middle Eastern cuisine. read more

So we had plans to go somewhere else, but we couldn't. So we came here. Excellent choice! The young lady behind the counter was very polite and friendly as she answered multiple questions from kids. The food was really tasty. I am not a fan of hummus but this was super wonderful! I ate all of mine plus part of one of the kids. Restrooms were clean. The outside was neat and clean in appearance. Definitely a winner. read more

Excellent food! Great price. Baklava not as good as Greek baklava. Everything else is excellent.

Tried it here for the first time, walking in already felt nostalgic it is giving it's own vibe of authenticity. Ordered Chicken shawarma and Mango blast with a side of their hot sauce. Service is quick and easy, didn't even take more than 10 mins. Taste is authentic and flavorful. Chicken is cooked to perfection, they do not skimp on portions! just the right amount of sauce and veg for me. Hot sauce brings heat, that's for sure. Drink is nice and refreshing not too sweet, could really taste real fruit, also balances out heat from hot sauce. lol Recommended!! Will definitely go back again! 8.5 out of 10 read more

Probably my favorite spot for Mediterranean food, portions are huge and the flavors are amazing. So glad they are located near me

I've ordered falafel from over 20 different places and none of them compare to Jerusalem cafe's. It is PERFECT!! Crispy on the outside full of flavor and moist inside. The only place I'll be ordering falafel from going forward. read more

I was passing by and had to stop. Glad I did - best falafel I have ever had. The tabouleh salad is also wonderful. I have an American palate, so I don't know how 'authentic' this food is, but I am impressed. A man in the kitchen heard me say it was my first time there and he gave me 3 salad samples! Great service and clean inside. read more

Casual dining. Order at the counter and they bring the meal to the table. All was good. Wish whole grain pita would be available. Turkish coffee is fabulous read more

Meh. We ordered the lamb, steak and chicken entrees. The meats were tasty, but they were each SO dry! Dry, like the Negev sort of dry. Khamsin dry! Especially the chicken. No moisture whatsoever-- be prepared to drink a lot of water... you will be parched. Probably won't return. Too far to drive for tasty but dry meat. read more

Tastes great! Less sugar. Just wanted to give 5 stars and not have to write a comment. So, there you go.

Ordered food from this restaurant through uber eats. And didn't receive all items in it even though they charged me for it. And when called, they were fighting over it saying that they can't give our money back. The worst place ever and the worst customer service. read more

I can't believe that I haven't taken the time to stop and eat here! We travel all over the world eating middle eastern food and we have the best I've ever had right in our own "backyard"! The sweet service and smile of Rheem, and her help with trying all of the different sauces was beyond! Chicken Shawarma plate, lentil soup, tebouleh salad, everything was fresh and delish! We can't wait to come back. I feel like I've stepped into another world, thank you, Jerusalem Cafe! read more

The food was just ok but I probably ordered the wrong thing as I'm unfamiliar with Mediterranean food.

Let's say mediocre is the best word I'll use to describe my experience. Came here a few days ago for a quick, last minute dinner. Got the lamb kabob sandwich. It wasn't necessarily nasty. But it wasn't amazing either. It was just ok. The flavors were so-so, nothing capitalizing. The lamb was in huge chunks and obviously placed throughout the sandwich. Therefore, you had some bites that were full of lamb others that were just straight lettuce. Would've been better if they were cut smaller so it could be spread through the sandwich better. The falafel was good though, well seasoned. I'm kind of so-so about coming back. For what it cost, I don't see it as worth it. I'd rather travel 10 minutes to I Dream of Falafel if I want some good Mediterranean food. read more
