I think the service a Jersey's is great! The servers are nice and welcoming and come to the table often enough for refills. They have a decent sized menu, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. However, it works if you are there to watch a game or play trivia. The place is big with booths and high top tables, lots of TV's. It can get a little chilly in the winter, but that might work for some that run warm! I like stopping by for music bingo and getting a scoop of ice cream for getting a bingo! read more

Iowa City/Coralville only has a small handful of places with Sunday Ticket. Looking for different options, I came across this place via a Google search. Decided to meet up with a mutual friend to check this place out... First observation: They have a nice TV setup with signs designating what will be on each screen. Their Facebook page shows if they will not be playing any games and which game will have sound. That's very considerate, in my opinion. I started out with a full order of Frips and Dip--fresh fried potato chips with a creamy French onion dip. The dip had pieces of real onion in it and was thick--almost the consistency of a cheese ball. Still creamy though...I liked them enough I got a half order later. Chips were nicely seasoned... My entree was the broasted chicken. This comes with your choice of potato and another side. The chicken was generously portioned, the chicken moist, and the breading perfect. Beer is kind of pricey--$8 or so for a "craft" mug. My beer of choice was Mango Cart, which I'm glad to see in more places around Iowa. Our service team was awesome and checked in regularly. One note--the website indicates they have Silver Strike bowling but this was no place to be seen. All in all, I enjoyed Jersey's--they weren't busy on this particular visit--which is puzzling. Went for Disney Music trivia... per their events, well that was last week and the error was never fixed. Food was terrible. Fried Pickles and Parmesan chix sandwich were good but frips and dip were burnt. Bloody Mary tasted like rotten meat, cottage cheese was warm (how does this get messed up?!? This was a first ANYWHERE! Maybe try a thermometer for cold items and don't have them sitting out of the fridge while waiting for hot food!), server was OK, breasted chicken did not look appealing. It was moist but no flavor. Don't waste your $$ here. It's not worth it. I won't go back! Nobody in our party of 5 will be. Go over to Quintons, I know their food is awesome! read more

I have been her several times and tried multiple things. I never had a bad meal. The burgers are good, not over done and not messy. Just had a traditional wings (bone-in) special Thursday night 65 cents a wing. They are good size wings and cooked right not too crispy and not under cooked. They have several (10 is) different flavors to choose from like Caribbean Jerk, Buffalo Ranch & Honey Garlic. It is a good Sports bar and can get a little noisy during a major sporting event. They have outdoor seating (in the patio overlooking the parking lot). There is plenty of room for groups and I have seen children birthday parties there in the past. read more

JERSEYS is my FAVORITE restaurant!!! On Sunday's they put ALL NFL games on. The pizza is the great but the crust is kind of hard. Three years ago I reviewed Jerseys and had two stars. However, they have revamped in the last year or so and it is so much better! Service is better, food is better, deals are better. I was disappointed when I moved to the area bc it would be nice to have a place close by I could walk to. I now have that place! Staff is friendly and they just changed the menu/recipes up. We order from Jersey's on occasion and have never been disappointed. The nachos are a hit every time we get them, there are never leftovers. Also we frequently enjoy the Smokey Burger, a flavorful moist burger that's good to the last bite. I had low expectations when I ordered takeout, and Jerseys managed to serve the worse food possible.. Wings: news flash, they are supposed to be crispy. Maybe if the cook had a clue how to make wings it would be an improvement. Hint, first toss the wings in flour and spices BEFORE deep frying then the wings would be crispy. Jersey Cheesesteak: maybe not using a stale bun would be an improvement, and then try toasting it !! The inside of a cheesesteak has sautéed onions, not raw onions.. I for one love this location. Its huge and is right off the bike path. Great place to pop by for a bloody mary with friends. I do wish they would re vamp it and put in a larger bar. I have to agree on the 2 star rating. If it wasn't for our server, who was very attentive and pleasant I'd drop it down a notch. Typical sports bar, went for lunch. I had the French Onion Burger special. It was merely OK. Served with a nice au jus, which made it a wee bit better. But the bun? I just can't fathom how a restaurant can serve any kind of sandwich on a mass produced bun that I can buy at any supermarket. That's not right. My dining partner ordered this big pan of nachos, which is one of the house specialties. It looked pretty good and substantial, but despite being served in the pan that it was thrown in the oven in, it wasn't very hot on arrival, and as time passed it became less and less appetizing. Wow. I used to love this bar in college. after all this time, several friends decided to reunite at jerseys. the service was awful. It has never been great, but tonight was so awful. As soon as we walked in, the waitress told us they were closing at 9, even though they were to not close until 10. the reason was so all the staff could party.. the rushed us, treated us horribly. Ordered some tenderloins last night, they were perfection. Quite large and just outstanding. I had a craving for one and they took care of me. Doing a drive by I thought they were closed. Kind of over this place! I've just had numerous poor experiences here. My bf used to live really close, plus he plays softball at Tait/C Street in the summer so we would stop by frequently. They've closed up super early on the weekend (the running joke with us is that we can't go to jersey's at 10:30 because they'll be closed). Went with my son for his birthday. I ordered a tenderloin and the server asked if I wanted everything on it. I told her yes, everything. When she served the food she quickly turned around and walked out the side door. I went to put ketchup and mustard on it and all it was was the tenderloin and bun. I waited to eat it thinking she would come back to check on us, but she didn't until it was time for the check. I asked about the lettuce, tomato, etc and she was like, they didn't put any on? Wow, amazing food and great setting. The jalepeno burger is hands down my favorite. I really like that's a casual, sports bar but done in a way that's not overly fanatic. There are two sides to the place, with the bar completely separated from the dining area. I believe you can get the same menu on either side, though. Prices are really reasonable. Would have gone with 5 stars, but they got rid of the awesome funnel cake onion rings that originally drew me to the place to try. The new onion rings don't taste like funnel cake at all, just plain rings. Service is standard. The servers aren't grumpy, but not near as friendly as other downtown places, but have never been rude by any means. read more

One word: Underwhelmed. Stopped in yesterday for lunch for the first time. Food: The roast beef on my french dip was cold. The marinara sauce for the bread sticks was cold, almost as if it just came out of the fridge. The bowl of soup was barely bigger than the cup of soup, but almost twice the price. The quality of the soup was "meh". Nothing was spit-it-out bad, but nothing was what you'd call good, either. Service: Not bad, but not good... ok, kinda bad. Servers seemed more interested in sitting at the bar facing away from the customers than in actually serving the customers. To be fair, when the food did come up, they were quick to get up and serve it. Sometimes you try a new place and have a bad experience and think you just caught them on a bad day. I didn't get that feeling this time. I felt like this was their standard operating procedure. One of the few places I wasn't impressed with. Which is a shame because from an appearance standard it can be a great sports bar. They keep the front and back door unlocked for customer use, but it's really discomforting during the winter because the back door doesn't close all the way and always blows open. Very disappointed in our visit here today. Ordered pizzas and wings with a basket of fries. Pizzas were incorrect. We ordered Canadian bacon with onions on half. We got Canadian bacon on half and onions on the other half. Same on our second pizza. Fries were warm and soggy. Still waiting for our wings. Waitress is not on the ball. Sat with empty drinks for quite a while. They do have a golf outing nearby so busier than usual but we ordered before most of them came in. Sunday afternoon visit, three other tables with customers. Far from busy. Took 40 minutes to get our food. Ridiculously slow. My daughter ordered a kids burger on my wife and I's insistence. I expected the kids burger to be small, but the size of the one that came had jaws drop. The burger itself was roughly the size of a half dollar. A half dollar. Really bad food!!! Stopped there Saturday night after the football game and it was horrible. Burger was cold, fries were cold and soggy (and there were maybe 15 on the plate) and they were not busy at all. They also ran out of tallboys ($2.50) and offered draft beer as a replacement - at full price --- and it was flat when I received it. In town for a sales meeting, this was the only place nearby to grab a drink. Awesome staff. We drank them out of bourbon the first night and the manager asked what kind we liked. We told him Basil Hayden. He asked if we would be back the next night and we said yes. The next night, he had a bottle waiting for us. My first time to Jerseys so I checked out reviews. I almost changed my mind after reading them. My son plays baseball at Kirkwood so we were right there and decided to just go. Damn, some of you reviewers are harsh. Very cool sports bar atmosphere, waitress was incredible. We had fast friendly service as soon as we sat down. We sat there for two hours watching Masters and she continued to check on us and refill our drinks entire time. Food was great and very reasonably priced! We'll be back and try to bring in some more Eagles next time too. Nice job! read more

During softball season this is the place to go after your game(s) The nacho plate is so good and Huge! Cheap too! the food in general is really good and there is plenty of Flat screen tv's to watch sportscenter or baseball games. The service is good and the drinks are usually pretty stiff. read more

First thought, I would rather eat ramen. Just had lunch and needless to say I would have rather thrown it out the window rather then spend it on the food I just did. Got a crispy wrap that had mealy lettuce, and was extremely soggy. Then the fries, they may have been hot but they weren't thoughrly cooked and the most un-appealing thing that I have been presented by a restaurant in a very long time. After calling to talk to someone, the girl that answer basically said that she would comp the fries. We ordered food and after waiting 25-30 minutes we asked the waitress how much longer the food would be. Her response was, "the people coming in are being told there's a 45 minute wait for food".
