I ordered today from this location and when my food arrived, it was drowning in mayonnaise and mustard, with no turkey on half of the sandwich, wilted lettuce, and when i bit into part of it, i pulled roast beef fat out of my mouth and from the the TURKEY sandwich which means the slicer was not being cleaned in between meats and cheeses. Insane cross contamination. I already have a severe aversion to food and I do not eat red meat either, making me unable to eat the rest of my already expensive food. It was literally falling apart and couldn't even be held up due to the severe amount of condiments When I called to ask about some kind of refund or remake of the sandwich, i was met with an incredible amount of disrespect and shame from the manager on duty. My family are all resturaunt industry workers, and have been for 50+ years, so we rarely complain and when we do, it's calm and respectful. I even apologized for complaining before asking for the remake/refund. For me to have been met with such attitude is insane. Not only did the manager make me cry, but she also said "we can remake it this time but next we're just not gonna do that". My father also went in to ask for a manager and the kid behind the counter said "she's really busy right now" and nothing else. No name tags on anyone either. When she did finally come out, she was incredibly apologetic to him, claiming they were really busy and short staffed that day. As a manager myself, I have also been busy and understaffed and still treated every customer with respect and made sure the quality of the food we presented was top tier, so being busy is just not an excuse. She also refused to give him her name and any other employees name and falsely accused him of trying to go behind the counter, which he obviously didn't do We've been coming here for years and have NEVER had this bad of an experience with the food. Most recently, my daughter ordered a sandwich from the Victoria Avenue location for delivery. When the sandwich arrived, she took one bite and a large amount of mayonnaise, along with wilted lettuce, slid out of the bottom of the sandwich. The bread was completely soggy. Even more concerning, when she bit into the sandwich, she encountered what appeared to be a piece of cartilage or fat from roast beef. My daughter does not eat red meat and also has food aversions. The experience completely ruined her appetite and nearly made her physically ill. She called me immediately, and I asked her to send me photographs of the sandwich. I have those photographs available and would have attached them if I had been able to locate an email address for your office. I advised my daughter to call the store, explain what had happened, and simply ask that the sandwich be remade. I told her that I would pick up the replacement while I was out. Less than ten minutes later, she called me again, this time extremely upset and crying. What concerns me most is that my daughter actually apologized for complaining before explaining what was wrong with her sandwich. Despite her polite approach, the manager who answered the phone was short with her and told her that she would remake the sandwich "this time," but that she would not do it again. Our entire family, including members of our extended family, has worked in food service for much of our lives. We fully understand how difficult customers can sometimes be, and we would never expect an employee to tolerate abusive or unreasonable behavior. That is not what occurred here. My daughter received a sandwich with multiple legitimate quality issues and politely asked for it to be replaced. There was absolutely no justification for responding to her in a manner that left her crying and feeling as though she had done something wrong simply by bringing a problem with her order to the store's attention. After four attempts to call the restaurant without anyone answering the phone, my husband went to the restaurant to find out the name of the manager with whom our daughter had spoken. The employees were not wearing nametags and refused to provide the manager's name. When he asked to speak with her directly, the employee at the counter initially refused to get her. The manager eventually came out only after another employee told her that my husband was not going to leave without speaking to her. The manager still would not provide her name, nor did she take responsibility for either the telephone interaction or the condition of the sandwich. My husband explained that we had photographs documenting the condition in which the sandwich was received, but the employees would not even look at them. While my husband was waiting to speak with the manager, the employee who had initially refused to get her began yelling at him and accused him of attempting to go behind the counter. He did not attempt to go behind the counter. He remained at the display case while waiting for the manager. If there is any question about what occurred, I encourage you to review the restaurant's surveillance footage. When I later arrived to pick up my daughter's replacement sandwich, both the manager and the employee who had confronted my husband immediately disappeared into the back of the store upon hearing the name on the order. Neither of them came back out or attempted to speak with me about what had occurred. What began as a straightforward request to replace a poorly prepared sandwich became something much more troubling. A customer who politely reported a legitimate food-quality problem was made to feel that requesting a replacement was itself inappropriate. When her parent subsequently attempted to address the resulting customer-service issue in person, employees refused to identify themselves, resisted providing access to the manager, refused to review photographic evidence, and unnecessarily escalated the interaction. PS - I looked through the reviews and noticed that they were primarily 1 star with a few sporadic 4 and 5 stars in between. Ordered food tonight - got there after my pick up time order not started. I get it - it's busy - hot - no one wants to cook. The manager was doing her best to let people know what was going on. I just got done ordering and picking up seven regular sized sandwiches for a work event and received attitude that I should put in the order ahead of time. Don't come to this location if you plan on receiving attitude. After spending the day at Zoo in Moorpark I wanted something fast and good to eat, so I decided to grab a sub from Jersey Mike's! It was grrrreeaatt! I love this location and I just don't get why it has so many negative reviews. I order the Original Italian sub with gluten free bread. I have to say how Impressed I am about how they handle making their gluten free subs! The girl preparing my sub changed her gloves, cleaned the area around her and still put my bread on a sheet on top of a tray! I mean that was impressive! I'm glad to see how careful they are being with gluten sensitivity or allergies! I also took a picture of another employee cleaning up his working area. The food is great! Fresh and delicious. I always order my sub Mikey's way. They have cold subs or grilled subs if you prefer. You can make it a combo and add drink and a chips! I have gone here on 3 occasions and each time there is what seems to be a manager here fighting with either employees or customers. Today the lady with reddish hair cuomes off as rude and mean. Today it started with the poor guy making my sandwich and then switched to a non customer who wanted to use the restroom. She was making comments that made me and others uncomfortable and she was just fueling a fire with the employee that didn't seem to be doing something wrong. The employees make the location unbearable. I have been to many other locations but this one is extra Terrible. Here is the breakdown 1. Food 3 stars- it can taste and look better but unfortunately the people behind the counter can even mess up a proven system . The sandwich was uneven and falling apart. 2. I like this Jersey Mike's, the people work hard to carefully make our orders well. I usually go to get a sub for my wife and she has gluten sensitivity. They are very careful handling her sandwich, they wipe everything down to ensure there are no regular bread residues and they also interact with my children when we visit them. The rest is pretty straightforward, good quality sandwiches and tasty ingredients. This location always messes things up! Their turn over for employees is always bad so it's ALWAYS new people. I've had a few run ins with the manager and he's the rudest person. Ask he's taking your order he acts like it's the biggest burden or that you're taking up his time. He's the one in the glasses and his hair falls over the visor. Not sure what his name is but he's definitely been there for a few years and has always been rude. The order was placed and they informed me that it might be 10 minutes because it's a grill item and I was asked if that's okay for me to wait. I don't mind waiting because the big Kahuna is always worth the wait. This hot sub is always overflowing with delicious tender meat and cheese. I ordered an online order I had to commute to work and let's just say this sandwich is the saddest sub I've ever had from this location. Looks like the lettuce was hydrated from the day prior and it doesn't look like the weight of the meat is not 4.75 lbs for a #8.
