I happened to be in the area one early morning and as I was looking for a place to have breakfast,…read moreI ran into this very unique Chick-fil-A. Actually, I have discovered that every Chick-fil-A is very unique in its own way. And this one was not different. First of all, I was impressed by the attractiveness of the design of its outdoor signs in relief. By the small dining patio to be able to dine outdoors in good weather. By the open interior space that created a comfortable environment in which to enjoy your meal. By the framed artworks and photographs on the wall celebrating the City of Salem, the Grand Opening of this restaurant on June 7, 2012, and the Story of Chick-fil-A. But as if this wasn't enough, what most impressed me was the quality of their employees here, as in all of their restaurants. Now only were they warm and friendly, but also very knowledgeable and helpful to someone like me, who was visiting their restaurant for the first time. They really made me feel right at home, creating for me an extraordinary dining experience. When it was time to order, a very friendly lady greeted me and took my order. I was able to tell that her greeting was genuine and not rehearsed. I order their Biscuit, Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Breakfast Sandwich, with their Hash Browns, and a Coffee. Everything looked so good and tasted delightful. I loved the little box in which they served my hash browns which were cooked to perfection. And were truly "Crispy bites of pure delight." My server so nice and helpful. She scanned my Chick-fil-A app so I could get points for my purchase and then showed me where the condiments station was so I could add cream and sugar to my coffee as I pleased. As I was enjoying my breakfast while sitting in a window booth, I noticed how cars drove by and a Chick-fil-A employee would walk to the cars, that by the way were under a roof, and diliver their orders. This indeed was more personal than driving through a pick-up window. Chick-fil-A always finds a way to make life more comfortable for its customers. And this isn't just statistics gathered through surveys. It is experienced everyday by each one of its customers. I highly recommend this Chick-fil-A as one of my favorite of them all. And look forward to returning for lunch or dinner in the near future.

Just a brochure menu with this saying on the cover: "Generous portions, made fresh, specifically for you." After being awarded the NC Triad Yelp Squad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, celebrating their contributions and accomplishments throughout the year, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and businesses, and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Joe's Deli, in Salem, Virginia, is a perfect example. Located right next to the City of Salem Farmer's Market and its parking lot, where you can conveniently park for up to two hours, enough time to park and walk across the street to Joe's Deli to have something to eat. While I was walking, I noticed a mural with a rendition of people eating at Joe's Deli painted on the side of the building, which I found very interesting. Once inside, during around lunch time, the restaurant was modern and clean with a minimalist decor. The dining area had both regular size and high tables and chairs, and also a small bar counter with a large screen TV and a framed American Flag under it. On the wall leading to the ordering counter there was a poster with a QR code to be able to skip the line by ordering online on their website. Next to this there was another poster with the Roanoke College Wrestling schedule for the season. The atmosphere here was incredibly warm and inviting, making for a really comfortable experience. On top of that, this was by far one of the cleanest delis I've ever visited; it's clear they take take great take great pride in their space. I waited in line as a lady in front of me was making her order at the ordering counter and a gentleman was waiting standing up for his take-out order. While I waited I took a menu brochure from the counter and planned what to order. When it was my turn to order, a friendly lady greated me at the ordering counter and answered some questions that I had about what I was planning to order. I ordered a Reuben Pastrami that came on a white rye bread, and included a bag of chips. To drink I ordered a Pepsi since they carried Pepsi products. When my order was ready they called my name and I went to pick it up. The sandwich came wrapped in a nice, heavyweight waxed sandwich paper. When I opened it at my table, the sandwich was humongous, filled with a generous amount of quality Pastrami, Swiss cheese, Sauerkraut, and Thousand Island on a white rye bread, and was toasted. It was amazingly delicious! So much so that I went back and complimented the owner and chef of the restaurant, in person through the window that led to the kitchen. I highly recommend this deli for breakfast or lunch. For they have the qualities of a great Delicatessen, focusing on quality ingredients, generous portions, and excellent service.

My wife and I DoorDash regularly, and this location is consistently one of our favorite places to pick up from. The staff is always friendly, professional, and respectful. More importantly, delivery drivers are acknowledged and treated like valued partners instead of an inconvenience. From management down to the frontline employees, customer service here is outstanding. Orders are usually ready on time, communication is great, and even when they're busy, the staff does a great job keeping things moving. The food is also consistently fresh, hot, and made correctly. Whether you're ordering chicken fingers, wings, sandwiches, fries, or Texas toast, the quality is always solid. In a time when good customer service seems harder and harder to find, this location continues to stand out. The restaurant is clean, the employees work hard, and the overall experience is always positive. This is exactly how a fast food restaurant should be run. Great food, great people, and excellent customer service. Highly recommended!

From the outside, the restaurant's building looked clean and inviting. Cars already were driving up to the drive through window and putting in their orders. And a few people were dining inside as well. I noticed that the windows and the glass door were very clean, and this fact gave a nice first impression of the restaurant. Once inside, I noticed the cleanliness of the place and contemporary, comfortable furniture: booths as well as tables and chairs. The color combination of gold and black made the place look elegant yet relaxed. The decor was minimalist with a wide screen color TV and a few signs decorating the walls, and a nice lighting treatment that came down from the black ceiling above. When I arrived to the ordering counter, I noticed all the employees were working very motivated and with a purpose, all doing their assigned duties enthusiastically. A young lady up front greeted and welcomed me with a smile and seemed very happy to hear that this was my first time here. She gave me some time to review the menu that was placed where all fast food restaurants have them. I ordered the Zaxseas Surf & Turf combo, and a Chocolate Chip Cookie for dessert. The order was efficiently taken and I paid with my credit card. It contained 3 Chicken Fingerz, 8 Shrimp with Zaxtail sauce, Texas Toast, Crinkkle fries, and a small drink of Dr. Pepper. Everything in the order came out so fresh and hot. The Chicken Fingerz were crunchy in the outside and juicy and tender in the inside. Same with the Shrimp. The Fries were also very well fried and freshly served. And the sauces were amazingly delicious. As I was leaving, I saw who seemed to be the manager seated at a table interviewing a young lady. I didn't want to interrupt, otherwise I would have told him how well he was running this restaurant. I just had an amazing dining experience here and this was only my first time. I highly recommend this place and am looking forward to coming back soon in the near future.

Not only is she rude to the customers, but also her employees. As I was choosing my sides, she comes to the front and says to the girl making my bowl, "why are you using that many toppings, it's only one spoon. You should know this by now.".
