Jersey Mikes is a causal submarine sandwich chain. Founder of the company, Peter Cranco purchased his first sandwich shop in 1975 at the age of 17 in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. In 1987 he began franchising his sandwich shops. By 2015 the number of Jersey Mike's shops exceeded 1,000 and Cranco is still the owner and CEO of the company. I needed a quick dinner as I cruising through Okeechobee. Dining options are limited here so a casual chain seemed like the best bet. It was completely empty when I entered and everything seemed clean. One worker had a mask on and one did not. I assumed the one with a mask would be making my sandwich but when I finally focused in on what was going on, it was the girl without a mask cutting my meat although she did have gloves on. I was too tired and hungry to call her out but I should have. I am sure she was supposed to be wearing a mask. Out of curiosity I checked out the Covid rates in Okeechobee. Ten days ago Okeechobee had a positive rate of 15.9 percent out of 6,627 compared to Palm Beach who has a positive rate of 13.2 out of 282,129. I found a news article that said that people in Okeechobee County were not getting tested frequently. Another site listed them as as having 1.202 cases compared to where I live in Broward that has over 69,000 cases. However if they are not getting tested in Okeechobee who knows? I wish I had thought of all of this before I allowed someone without a mask to make my sandwich. This will be the last time. Based on other reviews here this is not an isolated case. I will be better off packing my food next time. To try and end on a positive note, Jersey Mile's is located across from the brand new Hamrick Butterfly Garden which is a lovely place to eat. read more

Very clean. You can get excellent sub sandwiches and "sub in a tub " which is a salad in any variation that a sandwich comes. Cookies are fresh baked here. They are generous with their meat on the sandwiches. Service is very friendly. read more

My parents stop here each time they cross the state to visit me, and are never disappointed. Today my dad raved about an employee that was awesome. Upon my dad asking for gluten free bread, the gentleman was sure to wear gloves and carefully prepare the sub. He was super respectful, and then loaded the sub with bacon. I really don't mean to be the Covid police, but went there today for lunch. Half of the workers had masks not covering their noses. There were 7 people in line, no social distancing, and I was the only person wearing a mask. Not cool Jersey Mike's. read more

The subs from this restaurant are by far the best in town. Sure, they're also among the priciest, but excellence justifies the expense. My wife usually uses the app to order and we haven't been disappointed yet. The dining area is a bit small, but the staff keep things clean, which earns them points in my opinion. The staff are helpful, cordial and pay close attention to sanitary food handling. When I noticed that the majority of the staff are below the age of 25, their level of service and professionalism are a refreshing change when contrasted with other establishments. If you haven't tried this place yet, I can readily encourage you to do so. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Two of my favorites are the Italian sub and the steak sub. read more

I'm not sure why this place keeps asking silly questions. If I order a sandwich that specifically says that it comes with mayo and bacon, why do you keep asking me if I want mayo and bacon? This is the only Jersey Mike's I've been to that asks that. Even when I've asked for it specifically on orders... this place still gets it wrong. Don't come to this location if the Corona virus is a concern. Watched 3 out of 6 employees with contact with prepping sandwiches not wear their masks covering both their mouth/nose. The person cooking my steak sandwich had his mask position over his chin, so both mouth and nose were pointed down at the griddle top as he breathed on my sandwich as he cooked it. I then physically had to watch the griddle cook turn around, cough freely into the air, then return to continue to cook my sandwich. Guess he was not trained yet. Most people, eating or standing in line to order, did not wear masks. Nor is there any sign or floor stickers to promote social distancing. When I confronted the person who took my $30 for two sandwiches if it was store policy for employees to wear masks, she responded "yes". I asked her and two other mask employees to look at the other 3, their response look back to me told me everything.....this is a normal thing. I want to say thank you to the 3 that followed store policy and, I am sure by now, corporate policy. I had to throw out the two sandwiches at home and not a the store's garbage can because I was too frustrated with this lack of hygiene and common sense. I did not want to worry that I could knowingly put myself at risk with the covid #'s running rampant in Okeechobee county, I just wanted to enjoy my sandwiches. I don't have $30 to throw away; going to Jersey Mikes is an expensive treat for subs compared to most all other places so I won't be back until there is a vaccine. What choice did I have but to write this review in the hopes that someone of their management team makes training available. read more

I love the food. Just Don't like paying 27$ plus tip for the wrong subs. Everytime I call my order in they get it wrong. My kid's end up NOT eating it. I have went to other Jersey Mikes and had no issue. If it was once ok. Twice your pushing it. But 4 different orders wrong... Unacceptable.... read more

Mike can have his way on his own dime. I prefer to go to Publix where they know how to make a decent sub. The half sandwich we were served for twice the price didn't even begin to fill us up, and there were so few fillings inside the sandwich it was all mostly bread. After overhearing some very disconcerting things about the Subway here in town, we decided to give Jersey Mike's a shot for a super-quick-hurry-up lunch. I've never heard of the place before, but apparently this is a chain. Who knew? I was pleased to see that someone had the audacity to stray from the red / orange / yellow that all fast-ish food establishments seem to feel is a necessity in décor. Yes, I am fully aware that All The Research shows that those colors increase your appetite or whatever, but still. Enough already! This place was set up like pretty much every Subway I've ever been in, but with a dusty sea green color on the walls interspersed with light wood panels that framed large black and white vintage-y photos. The floors were light wood-looking as well... very beachy feeling. In my book beach = HEAVEN, so I was pleased. Side note - the original shop was on the Jersey Shore, hence the beach themed décor. The menu didn't have nearly as many choices as I would have liked. I'm usually looking for turkey, ham, and roast beef all together on one sandwich, but no such luck. The closest thing I saw under duress (a whole bunch of people walked in behind us and I felt that OrderNow! pressure) was the Club Sub -- turkey, ham, provolone, and bacon. They also have the Club Supreme (the same but with roast beef instead of ham) which I would have preferred, but I didn't see that until after I had already ordered. I also didn't realize until after everything was in the works that they had wheat bread as well, which I would have gladly chosen and wasn't offered. I'm so used to being held by the hand when ordering at Subway (What kind of bread? What kind of cheese? Do you want that toasted?) that I honestly forgot to even look. As I later read, part of their deal is that the meat and cheese is sliced right there in front of you when you order, and that was definitely the way it went down. There was a huge meat case attached to the counter (a little too large / high to promote decent eye contact with us shorties, in my humble opinion) from which the guy pulled and sliced the meat and placed it directly on the bread. Kinda neat, although it did seem to take a lot longer and I'm not really sure that it means it's any fresher in the scheme of things. I didn't have the option of toasting my sub, which is a bit of a travesty in my book. I'm admittedly spoiled by New Orleans po-boys and that amazingly delicious crusty French bread, but the typical bland submarine sandwich bread can be elevated to at least the point of yum by a quick trip through the toaster. There wasn't a huge variety of toppings either - I saw iceberg lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, jalapenos, banana peppers, and a hot cherry pepper relish. The same thing on the wall that touted the fresh-sliced meat also said something about the toppings that made it sound like they would be cutting up a tomato to order, but that definitely wasn't the case... the standard buckets of veggies and such. I'm still not sure if they offer some sort of combo deal with chips and a drink because I never saw it on the menu as such, but I was hungry and opted for both. I was disappointed not to see any of the Baked Lays hanging out and settled instead for some Sun Chips. Neither are healthy, mind you, but the Baked Lays at least have a little less fat. Lesser of the evils, you know how it goes. They serve Pepsi products here - eck - but at least they had mug root beer (caffeine free, yay!) because I'm getting a little tired of water. Prices seemed a little on the high side - $35 and change to feed the four of us (one being a little kid) made me do a slight double-take. Service was fine, cashier guy seemed a little confused by drinks and chips. Or maybe it was me. :) The sub itself? Surprisingly filling. You know how pictures of subs always show this monster thing with meat and cheese piled up high, and then you get this wimpy anemic-looking third cousin of the sandwich you thought you were ordering? There was a ton of meat on there... I got the regular size and ended up only eating half, and not even touching my chips. The bread was nondescript, but it was a white sub roll so it's not like that wasn't expected. Lettuce was crispy and green, tomatoes were super ripe and juicy, cheese tasted like actual cheese and not over-processed plastic. The meat itself was okay as well, nothing that really knocked my socks off, but again - it's deli meat. Nature of the beast. They didn't scrimp on the salt and pepper, or the vinegar, so that was a plus in the flavor department. All in all, it was your basic middle-of-the-road sub, with extra points for sheer volume. Everything was a small notch above Subway in terms of flavor, freshness, realness. Obviously (OBVIOUSLY) I'm reviewing this place for what it is - a no-frills sub shop in the middle of Okeechobee. For a lunch that's not inordinately heavy and insanely fattening, this is definitely a good bet. read more

This is the second year in a row I've taken a soccer team into this Jersey Mike's. Both times the service has been outstanding! The staff went above and beyond to accommodate a group of 22 without prior notice. Food was great. They got every single order correct. And I'd say we were in and out in under 35 minutes. I've stopped in a few times to get some subs, the food is good , the restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. The service is usually good but once I got a teenage girl for service and she obviously didn't wanna be there, no people skills borderline rude but kids are like that sometimes.
