Haven't had QUALITY BBQ in a while... I kept passing by Blue Moon BBQ for the past couple weeks and it caught my eye multiple times with the gorgeous Duke blue trailer. 1. The marketing is simple and perfect for the food they are selling. I walked up to the window and Shauna greeted me. She gave me the run down and I went for the 1/2 rack of ribs. Oh my goodness, were they the best ribs I've ever had.. absolutely. I also ordered the crowd pleaser (mac and cheese, baked beans, and pulled pork). Another unforgettable meal. I will definitely be coming back and potentially having them cater an event. This was one of the best BBQ places I have ever had in South Florida. 10/10 Highly recommend to anyone passing through Okeechobee. You will not regret it. read more

We were taking the back roads from Fort Myers to the Atlantic coast and stopped in the big O for some lunch. We spotted the good reviews on Yelp for this food truck and sought it out. There was just one guy in front of us and we were thankful since the gal was by herself in the truck. By the time we got served, which took a long time, there was quite a line and it was not going to move fast. After that slow start we took our food to a nearby park since there were no tables in the gravel lot that the truck was parked in. The pulled pork sandwich was very tasty as was the beef brisket sandwich though neither had a good smoke flavor. The fatty crust part of the brisket was very good. We really like the Dr. Pepper sauce. And their baked beans were tasty with what I thought was a bit of cumin - different. Definitely recommended for BBQ lovers but be prepared to wait.... read more

Worth the wait! "Astonishing" is what my wife said when she saw the brisket sandwich. It was three slabs of great beef with a nice bark and very tender and lean. Each "slice" was nearly an inch thick! On a brioche bun, to boot! We didn't need the sauce, which came in sweet and Dr. Pepper. I'd recommend calling ahead, because just one person was taking orders and doing all the serving on the Tuesday afternoon we stopped by and service was slow. Conveniently right on the highway. Blue Moon BBQ hits the spot with the best of em. Whether you're local or traveling from a distance, it's worth the drive. Shawna catered my buddies bachelor party at a local facility and the food was nothing less than a hit. The brisket is tender and melts away in your mouth. The ribs are ridiculously good, the chicken has so much flavor it dances in your mouth, and the pulled pork hits all the right spots. Speechless. A rarity as anyone who knows me will attest. The brisket sammie was packed full of slabs of juicy goodness. 3/4s of the way through this huge disk of deliciousness I recalled the young lady mentioning 2 sauces that were included. This is a pretty awesome spot here in Okeechobee!! I LOVE the sandwiches--the first one I got was the pulled pork sandwich and it was absolutely MASSIVE. As if that wasn't enough, the meat was so flavorful and juicy, I didn't really need any barbecue sauce at all! They use great quality buns for their sandwiches as well, which I appreciate. I've been a few times and have also had the sliced pork sandwich, and the smoke on the meat is pretty perfect honestly. The bark and fat are nice and sweet with that little kick of smokiness you crave when you want a bbq sandwich. I've also had a few of their sides--the mac and cheese and the potato salad--and they were fine. I think next time I go I'll have to get the cowboy beans tho; they sound delicious and if they're anything compared to the barbecue, I'll be in for a treat no doubt! read more

The ribs were hands down the best part of the meal! The ribs had some type of rub and didn't need any sauce, though we were given some in the event we wanted to use it. The brisket was good, along with the bacon ranch potato salad. Mac & cheese was ok, a bit bland, and needed the bbq sauce mixed in with it to give it more flavor. We stopped her on our way across the state and it was a great decision! I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was so huge and so flavorful!! I didn't even use their homemade bbq sauce because I didn't want to mask the flavor. I saved half the pork for lunch the next day - that's how big the sandwich was! Me and my wife were in Okeechobee earlier today. We stopped at a local food truck called the blue moon barbecue. I got to say I wasn't expecting much but the food was amazing. We ordered the four meats which was the pulled pork, the beef brisket, ribs and sliced pork. We also had their baked beans and mac & cheese everything was delicious . I am supposed to be going back to Okeechobee on Monday please believe I will be eating at the Bluemoon barbecue again. read more

As I was driving through town looking for a quick bite, all I could seem to find was fast food places. And then, there it was, a little blue place that sold bbq. I figured why not give it a shot. Wow! This was worth the stop for sure! My wife and I had the brisket sandwiches and Mac n cheese sides. Amazing! I can eat my fair share of food, but I could not take this one down in one sitting. The ribs weren't hot. I think reheated which is fine but not great or good bbq. My husband could smell the lighter fluid and I could taste it in the meat. Not a sign they know bbq. Didn't taste much If any smoke. Our sides were coleslaw (dry) and potato salad dry also and not much flavor. We've traveled across this country lived in Texas where bbq is amazing. I think you could buy as good premise stuff in the store. I do have to say both sauces were good. But that's about it. read more

We ate Lunch at Blue Moon Barbecue today. Their 5 star rating certainly lives up to its name. The Beef Brisket was tender, juicy, flavorful and beautifully cooked on the outside. The brisket was served on a fresh brioche bun with an amazingly generous serving of Meat. I am a good eater an I could only eat half of the sandwich. My Husband and I have eaten Brisket in many restaurants in several States and also smoke our own. We both agree this is hands down the BEST brisket we have ever eaten. read more

Holy smokes! This place is the REAL DEAL BBQ! Tender, juicy and the perfect smokey flavor! Huge portions and the homemade sides are to die for! We tried the pulled pork, brisket and ribs as well as all the sides. The Bacon Ranch Potato Salad was incredible, as was the tangy cole slaw, cowboy beans and homemade Mac n' Cheese!
